It's quite interesting to me, I live in Australia and work on hilux's & land cruisers. The tundra seems to be exactly the same as a hilux, just a wider body. Definitely a rookie mistake not putting WD40 over everything a few days before starting. It's all coming apart quite easily compared to what I'm used to.

I'm a Toyota tech from Québec, I just wanted to let you guys know that we have to cut lower control arms for replacement on ALL taco or tundra that's more than 5 years old lmao. And if they're coming for an alignement, 90% of the time we can't do the camber or caster since the bolts are seized in the bushing lmao so we usually suggest getting new arms... Welcome to the salty North!

On the LCA nuts/bolt - one of my engineers once told me while I was stuck on an axle nut that I needed FORCE + SHOCK. (that's why impact guns are so efficient. lots of shock) So I put a large breaker bar plus an additional cheater tube onto the nut, once I got a lot of force on to it, I had a second person smack the end of the socket side of the breaker bar with a mallet. And just like that, the nut broke lose. Thought this insight might help with further project. Keep up the awesome work.

I literally just completed replacing my lower control arms on my ‘13 Tacoma. Although not rusty, I knew beforehand that those cam bolts are notorious for seizing inside the bushing. I would hit as many areas as I could under there with some por15 or eastwood rust converter to give it a few more years. New trucks are so expensive, it's to the point where I think I can rust proof and replace every wear item (including the engine and trans) on my 1999 Z71 Silverado with about 500k km on it and still be in the green versus buying a new one. This is such awesome content, keep it coming!

I live in northern Canads as well and did a similar overhaul on our 2500 Suburban that has 240 000km.Also dis a complete suspension rebuild with Bilstein and got a bodyshop to remove all the undercarriage rust. Cost me around 10 Cad to get another solid 10-12 years out of this tank.

From northern Indiana, pretty much the exact same experience I had with the lower arms in my 2011 Tacoma except I was working on jack stands. 😳 Ended up with the sawzall on the bolts, oddly enough, mostly on the passenger side as well. There is some serious evil that goes on inside those lower arm mounts. I actually chuckled the first time I saw you with the sawzall in hand. I kinda figured you would get there eventually. 😂 Anyway, great video, I was watching because I'm probably adding a Tundra to the garage sometime this year. First lobbed off the main body of it, then cut the bolts on both sides of the arm mounts and used a air hammer to push the remaining bolts out.

I love this truck. It was my inspiration to put bronze wheels on my 07 as yours was the best looking slate metallic I’d seen w those bronze te37s. I’m about to install the Eibach stage 1 kit in my truck, hoping mine isn’t quite as rusty. Those are nice Eibach blocks, I didn’t realize they made them, I’ll have to look into them. There are clearance problems with running shackles and sone exhaust systems if you do the full 2.75/1 lift. and you need to do aftermarket ucas and dif and Carrier bearing drop if you go much over a 2” level, so your keeping stock ride height is a smart move, especially for towing. Good work boys!
