Excerpts from Ruth Duckworth: A Life in Clay, the award winning documentary that traces the life of this prolific ceramic sculptor. Directed by Karen Carter.
I used to visit with her at her "pickle factory" location and she was so very gracious. I often asked other potter friends, when you come to Chicago for a show do you visit with Ruth Duckworth. Many said they were afraid to take her time. Now they may wish they had, it was generously given.
I went to her retrospective show three times. Seeing her work went off inside of me like a bomb. Her work is sublime. To me the quintessential post war modernist. Crazy brilliant. I wish I'd met Ruth. This video helps so much.
Im really looking for a place to rent or watch this film, just discovered her work. Im a young artist working with painting and animation currently and these forms are very dear and inspirational to me! Where can i get my hands on this film?
