We just returned from a week's stay in Rutland. We liked that there are historic areas and a cute downtown with eateries, coffee shops, bookstore and a few antique shops. We rented a place in the downtown area and walked all over. Amtrak train station there and an airport with commuter flights to Boston. It made a great homemade for our touring around :)
@@TrvlXLTV for pizza i like ramuntos. Hmm let’s see, ppl like the sandwich shop downtown for ur lunch and sandwich cravings… it’s not a whole lot as far as food, Burlington has way more options. Taso on center, center street Rutland. I don’t even know to be honest, roots I guess is downtown and looks good, Tokyo house for sushi. One those maybe. Hoppin moose for something more laid back.
My ancestors lived in Rutland, Vermont for a couple decades in the mid-19th Century. Before living in Rutland proper, they lived in Reading, and Mendon. They retired to Southern California where they are buried. I grew up in California. One day I hope to visit Vermont.
When I was teaching economics at Middlebury College, I was often interviewed by reporters for the Rutland Herald, and even drove down to be interviewed on TV. Yes, if you love Rutland, subscribe to the Rutland Herald, wherever you are. That said, I didn’t hang out much in town at night. Rutland is listed as one of the 10 most dangerous cities in Vermont. At least the numbers are improving. So if you want to move there, go ahead. As you can see, Route 7 through town has an ample selection of churches to attend, and plenty of fast food restaurants to eat at. And excellent skiing to the east...
What a fun drive on a pretty day. Too bad the music doesn't feel too Vermonty. Try Miklos Rozsa's New England Concerto or maybe the Mystical Adventures Suite by Jean-Luc Ponty for a somewhat more modern sound that's has good soundscapes for landscapes. (I realize sometimes you need copyright approval.)
@@HardCold-Alquan It's interesting bc there's a lot of open land but when you get to the towns in Vermont they seem to have a lot of the things other places have, it has changed throughout the years though
this was long before we actually bought a dashcam and we didn't know about stabilizing the videos, we ended up upgrading to a new camera now we ok. as far as editing this video I don't believe youtube studio will allow this type of editing. thank you anyway 🍻
@@TrvlXLTV It's not racist. No idea what kind of experience this person had but it might have to do with their attitude because there is almost no chance that it had to do with skin color. Is there racist here? Yes but there is everywhere and certain way below what you would normal find anywhere. People around here don't care, they mind their business. For a state with little to almost no minorities it's one of the most accepting places. Live and let live.
@@t.c.v.t.Anytime someone says something like that it's for the very reason you stated. Attitude and Reginald to accept responsibility. Anyone who says what they did is the racist.
Terrible video you sospent more time in the non downtown historic areas played crap music and got lost while driving outside the jewel. Thanks for effort just plan ahead
