President William Ruto has justified his move to include opposition leaders in his cabinet, describing it as a strategic move intended to promote national unity and accelerate development.
During his visit to the coast region, Ruto expressed confidence that the nominated cabinet secretaries will successfully implement government plans and fulfil his promises to Kenyans, once they clear the parliamentary approval process. Ruto praised Ali Hassan Joho, the nominee for mining and blue economy, highlighting expectations that Joho will boost the maritime sector and generate employment opportunities for young people. Mombasa Governor Abdulswamad Sheriff Nassir has urged the president to ensure that the families of fallen heroes who died in the struggle for change receive compensation and that detainees be released.
