For cleaning hoses for water and fittings is a 5 gal. bucket with a gallon of cheap white vinegar and water to cover, let it soak for a couple of hours adding a little dish soap wont hurt. Rinse thoroughly.

Hi Jared, Happy Father's Day. I traveled in my 25ft class c Full Time for many years. When I watch your Channel lots of time it was either labor intensive or over my head. I understood alot of today's essentials. Great Sewage set up. And everything was pretty doable. Thank you for making things simpler for older female Nomads. A wonderful resource.

Jared , great content as always! Rhinoflex makes a part that has a flex end to go into the sewer pipe with the better "donut" seal. Hard to find....worth it! Also we found some heavy duty rubber gloves at a park once....$10 and still using them. (Yes we wash after every use) And quick connects on water hoses.....some say that's a want.....it's essential 😂

Great info and I have most everything that you have too 😁. One recommendation I saw in another video with the tire changing equipment is an orange safety vest if case you have to change a tire on the roadside. Unfortunately for me I got to use my vest the day after I bought it😂

One item is the tandem wheel tire changing ramp. We just came back from a 2 week vacation and had 2 flats (caused by road damage, thanks AZ I-40). With the ramp and impact wrench, it only took 10 minutes to change a tire. Also, you should have a tire pressure sensor on your spare tire too.

Thanks for all you do. Both myself and my wife watch your channel. Something for you is that I made 7 sets of 2x4 stabilizers and must say it's amazing how well they work. We are still in early stages and maybe we can use less but for now trailer aint rocking. Might be able to shorten them as time goes by. We are using up everything that was included in the trailer purchase and working on switching to your suggestions. Stairs are next spring and looking to watch your video again just to help make up our minds. For now thanks for all you do for us new RV people and we are open to all input.

I have lived FT in an RV (and now a box truck I'm converting) for about 5 years now and after traveling to Baja, and many southern states with extremely hard water, I'm a firm believer in a portable water softener. I use the dual filter Clear2O in front of the water softener (On the Go), which does a really good job of giving me a good base water for my tank. And then I use a Berkey for drinking water for me and my two elder cats. Thanks for another great video!

Great video. Thanks! I got a recommendation for all the dry site campers out there: The camco 40003 tank filler with shut off makes it easy to fill up your water tank and control the flow right at the fill port. So you don't spill water and make a mess. Plus it's cheap and fits anywhere. Happy camping!

Great info, thanks. As another safety item, I recently purchased a propane leak detector because I am constantly smelling propane when I open the tank compartment. I never did find any leaks and chalked it up to residue from when they are filled.

I prefer the rhino 45* sewage adapter with the hose hook up so I can rinse out my sewage hose in a pinch. I like the idea about the whole house filter instead of the throw away blue ones. The sewage hose you had seemed to be the one that has the end piece permanently attached which makes it difficult to store (but I bet it’s 15’ long instead of 10’). I keep my sewage hoses in my bumper so have the separate ground attachment.

I'd also recommend Hughes' Autoformer if you find yourselves stopping at campgrounds with low voltage issues. I finally picked one up when a campground I was staying at had voltage so low I was risking my EMS tripping. The extra 10% boost made the difference between my AC being able to run fine and my neighbor's, who's rig connected to the same pedestal, shutting off whenever the campground voltage sagged to low. You can hear and feel the difference when it kicks on and boosts the voltage, the AC speeds up noticeably. At over $400 it's definitely not cheap, but if you find yourself going places with bad voltage its certainly a lot cheaper then burning out an AC and having to replace that.

I keep a few 1/2” sharkbite caps on hand. Since most manufacturers don’t isolate our plumbing systems (toilets, faucets, etc) with individual shut off valves like in a house - one leaky toilet can place the entire RV out of service by requiring the water to be shut off to entire unit for example. So you can cut & cap the pex lines feeding whatever broke on you to save a trip and simply isolate the one problematic issue & keep water to remainder of unit that way. I skipped installing inline shut offs everywhere as a huge cost savings and I also didn’t want to needlessly introduce 20 new possible points of future leakage by installing them everywhere. Carrying $6 in pex caps does the trick.

Jared, i’d like to make a suggestion to your followers if they they are using a TPMS like the Tire Minder system to change out the rubber valve stems to metal valve stems , i know from experience that the added weight from the TPMS sensor will damage the rubber ones and you’ll end up with a flat.

Hey Jared, i made a thick wire lock for my surge protector. You need big bolt cutters to get through it to steal it. I only have an 18’ travel trailer so don’t really have room for one attached to the trailer. Used the same locking for our paddle board to lock to the trailer or a tree. Thanks for the tips!

I use a chain with a couple of same keyed large loop master locks. Put the electrical cords of the protector through the lock loops, causing the thief to have to cut the cords or the locks. Not worth their trouble and they move on to the next poor schmoe.

I just tested an assessory that I made today. I've got a 2006 Lance 1181. The kitchette slide will slide out a little each time I make a right hand turn that results in any G force at all. It will slide in on left hand turns but the end result is always the slide is out anywhere from 3 inches on regular city driving to nearly a foot before I can find a place to pull over on mountain roads. Forget it if a widow is left open. Air pressure will push it all the way out if you don't stop and run it in and close the window. It's mostly just very annoying. For a year or better I've had an idea rattling around in my head for what is vitually a wooden i joist to put under the slide inside the camper that will keep it from sliding out. I screwed a 2x10 to a 2x4 both about 20 inches long (they need to be just a little longer to fit more snugly under there). I made 2 of them and put 1 at each end of the slide inside the camper. Then I drove about 700 miles. It worked great! It needs to be just about a half inch longer to fit tighter and I need to mill 2x4s for the top to fill the gap on top. They're about a half inch too thick to use as is. These will fix the problem. If I could get some i joist scrap a 2x12 i joist would work perfectly. It's actual dimension is 11.875 to fit snugly in the 11.5+ space under the kitchenette floor.

I would sanitize it the same time I do my tanks. Once you have the fresh tank full of the solution you could put a spray nozzle on the hose and use the spray port to get the same solution in the hose and let it sit over night. Here is a video of sanitizing the tanks. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-qpgNIHFfxQ8.html It would be easier to do it at the same time so you’re not making a small solution for the hose.

My question is can you use both "Happy Camper", and "Unique" Digest, at the same time? Happy camper is a deodorant, and Unique is mean to dissolve the solids. I'd prefer to have the benefits of both if I can.

How do you clean it? We grew up drinking well water out of garden hoses, and were healthy as they come.

Yes same here. I used to drink out of the hose as well.

The problem with a Y connector at the faucet is that there is no backflow protection from the other hose.

Some of them come with a metal ring you can use a cable lock to lock it to the pedestal but we have never locked ours up.

These are all great tips. I do have to say in all my years of camping or just general living....ive never needed a surge protector. Ever. Ever ever. Never happened. Is the $20 worth it for something that has never ever happened to me? Maybe. I own one. Just havent seen it play out yet. Not convinced it isnt snake oil yet.
