Watched a few of your videos was going to buy an RV but no more. It’s just too much like WORK. I will fly , rent a car , tour and head home. Just me, can’t do it. Thanks for helping me make my decision. Enjoy.

If you read the instructions on that ninja air fryer...anytime you are air frying anything that would be greasy or cheesy, you are supposed to use the baking tray under it. There is enough space between the tray and the basket for the air circulation to get a good even air fry. We use this appliance everyday for air frying, baking and toast.

Easy way to turn a covered grill into a smoker is to place a small handful of wood chips in a foil pouch and heat until the chips give off smoke before placing food on grill. Cook as normal.

When I was a kid we had a Pop up camper very basic. I mean two beds and that was it! Dad would do the cooking on the fire and a Coleman stove. It was the best. Toast for breakfast he couldn't make enough! I love outdoor cooking and eating MMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!

Whenever we make wings I add a teaspoon or more, of baking soda or baking powder! Just put the wings in a bowl and sprinkle it over them. I mix with a spoon and set them aside to 'rest'. After 10-20mins I bake them! I rarely add anything else to prep and they come out about 30mins later nice and crisp! The family adds hot sauce or salt & pepper or whatever suits! I would say 1 tsp per pound, approximately! That's my tip! Hope it helps! I am trying to hear the name of the rub you created for the pork? I'd love to google the recipe for that! Thanks for this video, started following your channel today!

Put olive oil on the wings and then mix some baking powder with your seasoning of choice. The baking powder will make the wings crispier. I would say like 1 to 3 ration. 1 part baking powder 3 parts of the season.

Similar, we make a slurry of corn starch and olive oil seasoned with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika. Lightly dredge your wings in that first. We also turn the wings several times during cooking.

I use baking powder along with the seasonings, making sure they are oiled first. My favorite wing seasoning is lemon-pepper. They crisp very nicely in the convection oven at 400 degrees for about 40 min. Good luck going forward.
@user-wf5kr8pn6f
@user-wf5kr8pn6f 24 дня назад
I have found over the years that you don’t really need to oil the wings unless you are just trying to add a specific flavor, in which case using peanut oil is the BEST oil. Many of the best wing-restaurants recommend deep frying twice in peanut oil. I’ve tried that myself and they are delicious but it takes a very long time if you are making enough wings for a large family (like 6 people or more). I get the same if not better crispy results by just using the baking powder. The skin/fat provides enough grease to hold onto the other seasonings.

Use huge, super-sized metal salad bowl to mix spices. Toss meat in bowl to spread the marinade, then, zip-lock bag or cover bowl with plate or plastic wrap. Same idea for any dough -- use huge metal salad bowl to mix. Easier procedure, better mixing, no mess ! Works great for chicken, pork chops, steaks, even roasting vegetables. RVer's best friend: one over-sized big ole metal salad bowl -- doubles as swimming pool and space helmet...🤫

We saw this video and as a result and $600 later, we have the new Woodfire Pro and a new cooking table and a lot of other accessories. I have been watching "Cooking with CJ" for a long time as he has a whole bunch of Ninja grills and other products, including some cookers that I also use. His recipes are the absolute best for BBQ and smoking. Check him out - he has four different eBooks for a bundle price of $15 and there is every recipe you would ever like to make in your new Ninja Woodfire. Watch him and try some of his recipes. This is probably the most expensive Father's Day gift I've ever given my Sam, but he is absolutely worth it. We love your videos - we full time RV'd for 12 years and love to watch you younger folks doing it now. My husband will be 84 in December and I'll be 78. We made tons of great memories RVing.

We have had ours since January...we absolutely love it...we put our blackstone in storage, This grill has replaced a lot of appliances. Our microwave in the class c is not convection so this has been our go to for baking . I honestly think it cooks everything in half the time .. we cooked meatballs today and they were outstanding! You have to try bacon in it...leave the mess outside. When cooking wings always use fresh not frozen..also make sure they are dry and just season them and put hot sauce on them the last 5 mins. Wait till you make ribs on the grill...AMAZING! As far as the pellets try the Kona pellets amazon has them in a variety pack. Another tip is to make homemade pizza.. get french bread and the toppings that you like...its endless what you can make on this. It might be pricey but I swear it pays for itself.

My "fav" wing coating--Old Bay as light or heavy as you like. No pre-mixing. I use Ninja pressure cooker to cook wings from frozen usually. After pressure cooked, spray with olive oil, then sprinkle with Old Bay & air fry til they're a color I like. For your smoker, just sub Old Bay for spices you have to mix. Smoky flavor will be a plus!

Girl, do I have a great tip for enhancing? Add 2-3 teaspoons of powdered chicken bouillon! (Green lid, yellow label, red writing, brown jar), straight into the warm salsa. It will elevate your already over-the-top flavors. Warning: Serving it warm will cause you to eat the entire bowl. If you've already got the smoker on, throw some salt in a little dish, then smoke your salt for another flavor enhancement for use later. You'll be so happy you did. Our grill of choice is the tabletop Treager. I love to watch folks cooking and showing the necessary steps. Great video

Hey you two! We also added a Ninja Woodfire XL to our arsenal of cooking devices late last fall. I was specifically looking for a similar sized replacement for our old Weber 1200 series Propane BBQ grill. The XL has approximately the same cooking area in square inches. We played with it at our sticks and bricks for a month or so before heading to Arizona and our usual Snowbirding spot. We took the Ninja this year as an experiment and left the Weber at home. (our good friends who have the next door site still have their Weber 2200 series so we knew we had propane backup!) For the most part, we really enjoyed it except for the cleanup! Those big grill/griddle plates and the roasting rack are a pain in the a$$ to clean in an RV sink. Plus, we didn't want the grease and grime going into the gray tank. We went through rolls and rolls of paper towels! I ended up lining the grill/griddle plates with foil and this mostly solved the problem without really affecting the cooking. For the rack, we ended up getting a big, plastic tub that I could fit the rack (and the grill/griddle plates) into at the Dollar Store. That way, I could add some water, Dawn and let it soak. Afterwards, I could water the cactus and surrounding desert plants. We experimented with the various modes and ended up using Roast with Smoke a lot! We cooked a Prime Rib that was to die for! Also, we purchased an Eight (8) Pack of Kona flavored wood pellets to try. Our favorite is the Fruitwood Blend. This is available on Amazon and gives you eight various flavored, 1lb bags for $40. As for recipes, check out "Cooking with CJ" here on RU-vid! He does some great stuff and has a series of E-Cookbooks just for the Woodfire line of grills! Bon Appétit!

Only complaint would be you didn't make enough salsa. ;) So I'm a Buffalo-ian and the wing recipe that started the whole wing craze is just cook your wings, then toss them in melted butter and Franks Hot Sauce (this is mixed together). You can add garlic or other stuff (parm cheese) if you want, but we like original best. You can make a blue cheese dip or just dip them in Ranch dressing and they are always served with celery sticks. And around here we just call them Wings. Safe travels!

Very interesting. What might have been helpful would be the power requirements for boondockers. What size generator or inverter would be needed to use it?
@todayissomeday
@todayissomeday Месяц назад
Great question. We have an 8k Onan onboard generator, so it will handle it if we need to fire it up while boondocking. While sitting here, we may run some tests to see what kind of power draw it has while inverting. I just looked up the watts (1760) and volts (120). It would draw about 14.6 amps.

Spray the wings with avocado oil to make then nice and crispy. It's a high heat oil unlike olive oil.

OK, what an amazing video you guys are awesome. I have the same system and I trench my chicken wings and cornstarch water. It’s kinda like thin wallpaper paste. You don’t want it too thick and you don’t want it too thin I also put lots of seasonings in it to boost the flavor. That’s what I do that doesn’t mean it’s right but my chicken wings come out nice and crunchy course. There’s a little bit of drippy on the bottom but it’s easy to clean up. Thank you for everything you do thank you for the great videos you guys are awesome. I’m glad to see Phil is doing so well, have a great week. Talk to you later.

To make wings “crispy”, try a thin coat of baking powder. (About 2 tsps./10 wings -toss all together in a large bowl). You may have to experiment with the amount ratio since I don’t measure anything, I just ‘eyeball’ when I cook. Happy camping!

Crispy wings = baking powder in with the spices. I use even amount of kosher salt, black pepper, baking powder and granulated garlic. mix seasoning is a bowl then add to a shaker container, add oil to bag of wings to coat, add as much of the seasoning as you like and shake bag to coat wings well. return to fridge and let marinate for at least 2 hours. Air fry

Excellent video. I've owned the Ninja Foodi XL Grill for years and love it. It's smaller than yours, but I can grill, air fry, and bake with it. I use it for burgers, steaks, pork chops and kabobs, and to air fry veggies. Perfect for a family of up to 4. Mine has a temperature probe which you push into the meat while it is cooking and is great for ensuring burgers and steaks are done properly. Glad you two are doing well. Phil, how is your shoulder doing these days?

Glad you found something that works for you. I'm vegan and live in a van, so that thing would take up half my living space! That smoked salsa looked great though. I recently had a few friends convince me to buy a small air fryer. I have to say I see no difference between air frying and baking in the oven. Just another garage sale item. Given your rig size and diet, that's a cool solution.
