OMG! LOL… when we were in Colorado Springs in 2018 we drove to go up to Pikes Peak and you wanna talk about no guard rails? If you have someone that has acrophobia with you, you sure wanna have them take a volume, blind fold them what have you… terrifying! Absolutely Terrifying!

Seems you like history, since you’re in the West, should head over to Flagstaff and check out Camp Navajo (they do have a campground, Pine view) and Fort Tuthill a campground and also has a museum. The location for Camp Navajo was a strategic one, to far for Japanese bombers which provided great storage, It is also an active National Guard installation

My daddy would have loved that trip to the St James Hotel. He talks about Bat Masterson, Doc Holliday and Jesse James a lot. He's 87. We have a hard time getting him to leave the house since momma died. He watches westerns all day now. Weren't many people around. That's a plus! LOL HUGS~Donna

I may not be a beer drinker anymore but it looks like a cool place to visit. The haunted hotel room no thank you but the Volcano looked like an awesome place. The wild west was interesting to say the least the lawlessness that took place in those days. Not sure I would stand next to a haunted room 😳. The scenery is beautiful not sure I could walk up to the top of that volcano but would sure give it a try. You two were out of breath I know it was steep. I hate narrow roads especially with no barriers. Great video thanks for sharing friends. 👏👍❤️🇺🇸🥑

A very enjoyable video, although you all need a "closer MIC", it was hard to hear you with the TV volume at normal. We've been to Mt. Capulin Volcano twice while touring on our Motorcycle a few years back, WISH I'd known about the Hotel in Cimarron, that would have been a great place to stay for a night or two!!

I loved this video. It had so much info on the haunted house and the cold beer place and flag. I know what its like to see ghosts. We have one in our house and my sisters boyfriend had one at his place. But they are not armful. The one we have will sit and watch a bit of tv with us and then we all feel them jumping into bed. It’s weird. Scary sometimes. But armless. I love it when you visit places like this. I was laughing you both about the house and Robert Duvall. I seen both the Lonesome Dove the movie and series. The chipmunk you saw was that Alvin, Theodore, or Simon? 😂 So glad you honor the fallen heroes. Hope you had a great Memorial Day! Most people will think a "haunted house" is everyone's imagination. I lived in one in Richmond VA and it was no joke. It was single family home, I'd know for a fact there was no one home and I'd hear distant foot steps walking across the attic floor, hear the door in the attic open (it had squeaky hinges) then hear what sounded like something like a ball bouncing down the stairs. My son had a friend give him a ride home after work one time that had never been there before, and had never been told about what was going on. He asked him who was that blond haired lady I saw heading to the attic. Another time my son had a girl spend the night with him in his room in the attic. We both went to work and she was there alone. When we got home she was screaming out the window get me out of here. She said as soon as we left the A/C shut off, a rocking chair was rocking, and the door was locked and she could not get out. It was an old mortis type lock that I did not even have a key for so we had to bust the door down.

Thanks for sharing all the cool history!! We pass that way often and always wanted to stop there. You should go down highway 287 from Amarillo to see more history about Charles Goodnight. Also, New Mexico has so many volcanoes! You can see volcanic rock along I40 west of Albuquerque and even near Santa Fe, there is the Valles Caldera, which was featured in the Longmire series. I love these side trips! If you want to explore more in Colorado, check out Cripple Creek and Victor. Great casino mining towns. They still pull gold out of the Cripple Creek mine. Stop and have some great BBQ at the big red trailer near the Cripple Creek rodeo and next to the Pikes Peak Regional Memorial Wall and cemetery.
