The lag time for permission to pit could've been fatal. Officer should've been allowed to make a judgement call in these situations and just pit while he had the small window of opportunity. C'mon, she was going the wrong way entering a freeway!
Why does permission to pit have to be given, meaning, why can't the officer make that split second decision? What next, "Hey sarge, this guy is pointing a gun at me. Permission to shoot." Good grief. This would have been over a long time ago had the officer pitted when she first turned the wrong way on the exit ramp.
Should have pitted it out when they were on that on ramp. Asking and waiting for permission when that was the only place that no other cars would have been involved. But they let that fool get on the road and put every one of the people in danger.

God the 1950s crap on those squads looks god awful... This was irritating to watch. After the first 50 with the squad the pursuit should have been forcibly stopped the moment they merged going the wrong way. This could have been 100% fatal to someone uninvolved MULTIPLE times. The driver showed no problem ramming or aiming at troopers and clearly had no problem causing two more 50s going the wrong way. Instead he waited until more civies were in the way... whiskey tango foxtrot.
To the one that initially either could not or would not order a pit when it could have been done so safely? You placed everyone on that highway in danger when this weapon was careening the wrong way down a highway! IT IS ON YOU! Y'all can't make these decisions? Resign so someone else can!
Police aren’t in charge of creating policies, it’s people in suits that never served a day in there life that wright and approve these policies. Any cop would’ve been ok with PITTING him but we also don’t wanna lose our job over it.
@@My-Say Had there been kids inside, the oddds were far greater that she would have killed them with her extreme reckless driving, especially the longer the pursuit went on, so that's a BS excuse right there. Given the choice, any kids would be far safer with a PIT.

I see how upset everyone is in these comments about the permission to PIT, and I concur. It's especially stupid because they already have to be PIT certified to do the PIT, so knowing when it's acceptable I'm sure is part of the training, and that should suffice.
Wrong! The RV's right side tires were plenty over the painted shoulder line and onto the shoulder, so you're wrong on that. Also, the supervisor actually did 'finally' give him permission to PIT, so the trooper did not take "the initiative on his own". Watch it all again.
