Oh and another thing, thank you for the suggestion about the concrete counter. 🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯 I didn't think and never would've thought of ever attempting it but you made it seem effortless. 😍😍😍
For your pantry cabinet, why not change it to a pull-out pantry so that it won't matter how deep it is? Just pull it out, and you'll be able to see everything in it at a glance.
I was going to post the same thing. If not an entire pull out, rolling drawers are fairly in expensive and could be placed on each shelf. I'd also take down the door for the cupboard that houses their knickknacks so I could see them (but that's just my personal taste). But they did a great job considering those are the only 2 things I could see changing in the whole camper. You can really see the love and labor that went into the project.
My thought as well! Basket, drawer or shelf gliders are pretty easy to install and would help utilize every bit of storage space so much easier. I would use them everywhere! 😂
Rachel gets the credit for choosing the colors. We're really, really happy with the counter-top choice we made. Having a real concrete counter-top in an RV would be ridiculously heavy, so the process we went with was the perfect solution since it only added about 10 pounds in weight.
It's time intensive, but pretty simple. The process took as about a week, but we did it in December, so things took longer than expected to dry. If you have 70+ degree weather and good ventilation, you could apply 2 coats on concrete per day, cutting the total time needed in half.
Great job! It looks amazing. Just a couple of suggestions... we added a thin layer of metal cover inside the cabinet doors and from the dollar store we use magnetic hooks and tins for extra storage and organisation. Also for the pantry you might want to consider pull out shelves. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Hi, love your redo. We are redoing our 11 year old pull-behind. Covered the old, ugly, dark floor with a grayish modern manufactured tile. Now, on to painting the walls. If hubby will do it, one day I want the two different colors for the cabinets. I love your color choices. Will use some of them in our reno. Thanks, Diane, ps. Will try the cement counter top also.
I'm looking at a Fleetwood wilderness that is exactly like this trailer only the bunks are both twin size so seeing your remodeled trailer is so helpful in imagining how mine would look when it's done! I don't have kids but I'm going to turn my bunk into an teeny office
In our travel trailer I put free standing wire shelves (like for dishware) in the two lower pantry shelves. They hold a plastic shoebox above and below which holds 8 cans per box or short items on bottom layer. I put cereal boxes etc. in front with spring rod retainer to keep shoeboxes from sliding. The top 2 shelves have 8.5 and 8.75 inch opening. I made full height bins that size from small uhaul boxes. One holds baking items, packets, etc. The other holds snacks and bread. I can pull them out and see everything quickly. Behind bins I store box mixes and stackables and dog food. Easy to put rods in front of boxes to hold in place on the road. Not enough room to get inside cabinet to install anything easily. Can't fit both arms in the back. Happy travels.
We're about a week away from purchasing our first RV for full-time living and I'm so excited to renovate it. Thank-you for sharing your renovation... I love that shoe cupboard idea!!
Very nice tour Rachel, great job! The time and effort really paid off - the space looks amazing. We enjoyed the original remodel videos as well. The work Nick did was top notch and that shoe storage solution is genius.
I was actually surprised that we didn't find anyone else who had done the shoe storage solution like that before. I'm sure someone has done it, but we came up with the idea on our own. It's a great place to stow away the extra shoes without having to hide them under the dinette benches or bed.
Love that you didn’t tear out the seating and table!! The counter looks great!! Love the blue cabinet! If you find rectangular bins for that side cabinet, that’d help for taking out bottles
About those turquoise fabric bins you have in the cubbies above your master bed, I found a greant storage diy option on RU-vid that takes plastic dollar tree bins and makes them stackable by using a clear tray from their "fancy" party area that sits so perfectly in the bin that then creates a place to stack another bin right on top. And because it's clear you can barely notice it. But seeing your color theme I would probably paint them white so you see the contrast of the turquoise and white beautifully. I love this video because you are utilizing very similar colors to what I'm looking to renovate my 2005 wildwood with, which is white and Tiffany blue with the Moroccan tile patterns like you have on your rug there. You guys gave me some great ideas and I'm excited to make my trailer more into a home. Subscribed!
thank u for sharing great video i loved the drone footage as well all those lovely tree n air shoot s were great as well.... so thnks again for the sharing....
Thanks. We went through more than a half dozen shades of gray before settling on the right one. Funny how a simple color like gray can get so complicated.
Wow, your remodel job came out nice. I would like to do a remodel on a older trailer when I get done with our cross country trip. Thank you for sharing.
Looks like the trailer you bought had pretty good bones. More of a decorating challenge than a renovation, but your end result is stunning. With three and a half months of continuous effort, you've proven that even a quick restoration is a lot of work without having to get into the mechanics, electrical, plumbing, HVAC ...etc.
Our major setback was rebuilding the whole front of the trailer due to water damage, but we also installed solar and tweaked a few other things. This was a lot more that a bit of redecorating.
Very nice!! One tip on storage, get some of those over the door coat hooks and an over the door shoe holder. I have several of each in our RV. I use a clear shoe holder in our bathroom for soap, razors, meds, etc...and the other for shoes.
This is so very pretty, and looks so comfortable and homey!! That was such a brilliant idea for revamping the counters, and it came out so nice. You all did an amazing job! (I love your color choices too, that Tiffany Blue-ish is so pretty.) One thing that may help a little bit and would be super easy to install - glider drawers or baskets or shelves!! They're fairly inexpensive and would make utilizing the space (and getting to everything) a bit easier in some of those hard to reach and deep sections of storage, like in your pantry area - honestly, every cabinet. Just gliders in every cabinet, lol, you'd never have to dig for much again! ♥ Tyfs. I hope you all have been having amazing adventures! Best of wishes to you and yours!
Love it! Not keen on the wood cabinets, love the white! Looks great! Cement countertop great idea!! You worked so hard and it’s gorgeous! Love the persimmon curtain !
Looks great, love the concrete counter! If I might suggest for your pantry roll out shelves, I believe you can DIY it instead of buying the expensive ones.
We wanted a little bit of contrast so that the white cabinets would stand out. We probably went through 20-30 shades of gray before we made our final decision.
Great redo, a thought on the pantry cabnet, make it a pull out on slides the back is solid but you can see everything when you pull it out making it more accessable, if possible do it to the floor, doesn't take up any more space
Looks GREAT!! Just a pantry thought, what about a slide out type pantry? Like you, I have watched many of renovations looking for inspiration and have seen some with really cool slide out pantries! Just would seem very easy to pull out the pantry to stock, as well as, being able to pull it out to see what is most often pushed back out-of-sight in shelf pantries! Love and hugs!
Looks great!!!! We just bought about another travel trailer & im excited to make it my own style of what we love. Was thinking of doing a video on it before I start:). Thanks for sharing. Yay for homeschooling📚. We homeschool 6 kiddos:)
I’m trying to get motivated to do ours. We have a TON of cabinets as well as wood molding and I’m dreading the painting. We’re on the road right now but going home in a few weeks, so I’m trying to plan ahead so when we get it home I can be ready to take it on. Anyway, great job!
Thanks! Painting is a tedious job since there are so many small things and way too many corners and cabinets. I'd say it takes a solid week to do it right. If you want to save time, a sprayer should do the trick, but that will cost a bit more.
beautiful home! I think it's really smart to store your dishes in the drying rack. Usually it's just an empty waste of space. I'm going to do that when we buy our trailer and use the cupboards for other stuff!! :) Just stumbled across your channel and will go checkout your other stuff now. :)
I love small spaces and am excited about traveling in a trailer. You have made your home so cute and cozy and it doesn't look like a traditional trailer which I really like. Our dream is a little further down the line. We are thinking retirement in about 8 yrs or so. Then we can travel to see our children more who live in different Provinces than us. :) We watch so many trailer videos so it still feels so far away!! haha
I have watch many RV reno videos and I love the choices you guts made for your finishes/colors etc and can appreciate all the hard work you've put i to it. I've binge watched you guys recently to "catch up" when I saw one of the more recent videos and must say you have a great family and good thing going with showing your kids the world!
Wow, our first binge watcher! That really means a lot. We've been working hard on the videos to make them as entertaining as possible. We're glad you've enjoyed them enough to watch more than a few. As for the girls, they are having a great time. We've seen a lot of things in our first two and a half months on the road, but there's still a lot more to see and do!
First time viewer. I really like what y'all have done with your travel home! It is clean, not cramped, and pleasing to the eye- cute! Great job! I WILL be watching more of your videos and praying for your family as you travel this wonderful country! God bless you ALL!
You might want to put a long board that would slide out on wheels so you see what you store in the back. Kind of like what was done for the keyboard for the computer.
Nice renovation! You have made it nice and cozy:) Just found y’all’s channel and subscribed! We have a TT also and I have been wanting to redo the inside even though it’s only a year old 😊 Thanks for sharing your home. Judy❤️
Awsome I have the same camper but from the factory it has white cabinets I also installed doors to be accessed with out taking up the cushions looks great
Wow, you're the first Treasure Ship owner we've encountered. We did see a few pictures of the white model when researching, but never in person. How are you liking your trailer?
The Gray Adventures we love it we have 3 kids they are all teenagers we have had it for 10 years after watching your video we are going to do some of the stuff to our such as the table and the trim around the slide and the flooring Yours is amazing me and my wife are so excited to get ours started renovating it
I know this is an older video and you may have already found a solution to your pantry, but maybe you could do some sort of spice rack pullout system, since the storage is so deep. Pull it out and you can see all of your items lined up on the rack?
love the after! its so nice and light. I plan on re-doing my wallpaper to something lighter in my rv but that has to wait till i get all my stuff in. lol
