So tired of people saying this is a problem!!! No one cares or goes around unlocking other peoples campers!!! Theft isn’t an issue! No more then the risk u take with u park ur car! Those who are gonna break in don’t even have keys they just break in!!
Theft is not an issue? Where do you live? It is here in California for sure and yes if someone wants to break in they will, but theft is about opportunity, they may be discouraged by better locks.
Looking at the lock, and that door, a thief could use a pry bar and force those hatches open. The lock levers would bend, or the hatch would bend and break. I understand those locks are just slowing down the eventual break in. A sliding bolt would be better, but since the hatch is also a weak point, wont make much difference. Another way in, is use a hammer and sharp chisel on the RV side where lock is to cut away either the lock or the latch.
Hi, I’m replacing my compartment doors and want to know how to drill the hole for the locks and have the two flat spots on the hole so the barrels don’t spin.
Great video! Gets the job done. Wondering if you of a way to change those standard locks that most travel trailers come with to a slam latch lock. I know it would take some cutting of the door to upgrade to a slam latch lock
