Wow! Good to know about being completely unplugged when there's thunder/lightning, so our RV doesn't fry up. We're newbies into RV life and hope to do what you guys are doing a few years down the road with the kids. We also have a love for State Parks and have explored several of the FL/GA parks, since that's nearest to us. We uploaded our 2nd episode to our series and visited Rainbow Springs.
I don't think you need to worry about lighting. We have lived in our travel trailer for about 4 and a half years in texas. I wouldn't concern yourself so much. ♡
Oh that allergic reaction must have been scary. I would suggest going to the doctor now and getting an epi pen to carry at all times. As for the people prowling around your rv, get some of those inexpensive and easy to get motion sensor, solar powered lights. On Amazon really cheap. You can use industrial velcro to attach to your rv and they are amazing.
We use a surge protector but if you are uncomfortable in a storm you can shut off the pole at the breaker. Oh the Texas home winds....we were just in a storm in Florida overnight with crazy winds.
Hi again!! We had to cancel our weekend to lake Whitney because of this snow storm we all got. We’re going in a few weeks for spring break 🤞🏼🙌🏼. Thank god we were fortunate not to lose any power and still have water. After that terrible 135 car pile up accident we had here right up the road from our house we didn’t wanna risk anything. Hope y’all are doing well and staying safe. 😊
Hey friends... we were full timers for Two years. We were actually in a bad lightening storm and all the rvs around us fried!!!! We had an awesome surge protector... it was like $350 and WORTH EVERY PENNY. Is it cheaper to just save the money and run out at 3 am to unplug?? Yes, but if what if your Rv get struck before you make it out there. Of if you aren’t at the rv when the lightening strikes? Just a thought... happy trails and I love your RV! Can’t wait to follow all of your travels!!❤️❤️
Many are allergic to cedar in Texas; Hope you find out what happened to you soon! Your family is precious! The love of camping includes being flexible as your family proved!
@@FamilyFulfillmentProject ~ I was told that you should ALWAYS wash new clothes. They can have chemicals on them that can cause issues. I hope you are doing better. I have asthma and am sensitive to many things. That feeling that your throat is closing up is awful!
We LOVE state parks, too. County parks can also be a hidden gem- some of our favorite places to stay in FL were county parks. Stay safe out there- hope you are feeling better, Becca!
I was going to say you guys definitely need a surge protector but you got that covered. I'm in new mexico so I'm excited to see all the cool places in texas!
We stay plugged in during storms and have never worried about it. Currently parked not too far from lightning capital of the world and there’s an electrical storm going on rn. 🤷🏼♀️
Where did y'all go camping at? I missed that in the video I don't think I heard y'all say anything about where you were at just curious and oh yeah that wind looked really really strong too bad you couldn't have fires and go fishing it's all part of the fun maybe next time you'll be able to enjoy yourself without the wind and have a nice campfire do you have any kind of hitch on the back of your motorhome maybe you can even get a smaller emergency vehicle instead of a big tow vehicle in case of an emergency for what it's worth it look like you were having fun anyways and it's just another rule of thumb watch out for sketchy people around your campsites or area you never know what they're up too God bless and safe travels can't wait to see the next Adventure👍👍🙏
You guys just look like you are genuinely enjoying life and are happy. God bless you and your family. I pray for your protection and many blessings from the Lord. In Jesus name.. I enjoy watching you guys and I sooooo long to get an RV one day. Lord willing.
I feel bad for you about them people. Hopefully you in time before they came back or if they would come back. Plus leaving in time of the storm wind and rain is best too. I would leave with a big storm coming too. Glad Ben will do a video on cleaning the black and grey tanks. Sounds like a dirty job. But it’s probably not that bad. Lol. I love messing with you two. You 2 are so funny. Hope you made it home safe. I thought at first Becca when at the end you were going into the Rv while Ben was doing the tanks you hit your head on the door when your hat blew off. Thank god you didn’t. Hope you are home now and safe. See you soon!
We had a lightening strike two campers down in our campground a couple of years ago. It was a direct hit to a tree near the power box and it fried the campers electrical systems. Fried their electric tooth brush, micro and TV. Yeah take lightening serious!
We actually had our electric system on our trailer fried during a lightening storm years ago! Lesson learned-always unplug or have a surge protection device.
That was some strong wind! What did you eat for dinner? I wonder if there was something in the food you've developed an allergy to? Just a thought... I enjoyed your brief vaca :)
Do you guys have a heaby duty power cord for the electric box outside your MH? Saw some reviews and they weren't very good 😕 no water? And broken glass on the beach area. Also didnt feel safe? 🧐😎
Yup, you should've called an ambulance. If anyone else was having those same symptoms you would have called. Dont dismiss your symptoms. You have a lot of little ones that depend on you.
Hopefully you have gone to a Dr. by now. One night years ago my wife has a small rash on her arm and it went away on its own. We went to bed at 10:30. At 12:00 she woke me up and said the rash was back only a little bigger. Got dressed quickly and we headed for the ER 7 miles away. At 4 miles to go she said she was having trouble breathing. I turned on interior light turned it back off and floored it. Did 90 the rest of the way. Pulled up in front of ER. Honked horn three times and got her out of the car. They took her in a wheel chair and gave her a shot. When i got done with papers I went back to her. She was red rash on arms, legs, neck, and face. When I saw her in the room all gone. They said luck I got her there when I did. Stayed for hour and half and went home. 4 am got woke up again and did another 90 mph trip. Another shot and better again. Got her a prescription and went home again. She went to Dr. she said that the only thing she could think of was ampicillin about three weeks earlier. Dr said did not think possible but would do test. Came back highly allergic. Almost lost my wife twice in one night. So, be careful please! Respectfully, Kevin
Oh my word, that's terrifying. So glad she's ok and you figured out the allergic. That's what most worries me is I have no idea what caused it, the rash started two days before and was very similar to my reactions to antibiotics but just moved a lot slower. I am contacting the doctor to get an epipen. Most worries me when I am in Tanzania because care is hours and hours away.
Sorry you had a bad weekend. With high winds I would have put the slides in too if you could. I have a question. Whey you unplug the RV in a lightning storm can you run your generator?
