"How can you handle ALL this ?" "That must be hard on her too" Oscar in Volume 5 Episode 5 in the First time we actually see Ruby talking about her trauma.
The first time she tried to is with Jaune at Ren's destroyed village. She started air it out... and then Jaune reinforced her way of thinking by reminding her the lesson Ozpin gave her... "You give us the courage to follow". And I honestly believe that was the moment she decided she couldn't honestly share her feelings with anyone... that's why when she finally did... it was with someone who barely knew her and needed her to be humanized for her to inspire that same courage. Ruby did the best thing for Oscar in that scene by sharing her own feelings... unfortunately she couldn't see that she needed that healing as well.
Remember waaay back in V4, when RWBY split up? Weiss, Blake, and Yang went on journeys of self discovery. But Ruby didn't. She just held her chin up and continued with the mission.

GOOSE.* - Repair scarecrows in rice fields - If late, fight off giant crows/make new scarecrows ( "Ruby" will help!) - Stop carts from crashing > east marketplace - Stop the coffee maker at the cafe before it *explodes* - Bring - Gather Paper indoors before daily wind surge (best I can make out) - Stop "Nora" from climbing pebble tower during the storm < (trust me, this one ends poorly 🙁) - Take the scissors from "Neptune" - Stop the *"bandits"* - Stop the third, and final (hopefully?) fire - Help "Pyrrha" w/ her hw 🙂( homework or housework I assume) - Stop the Un-foldening (*You'll know it when you see it - Take away the makeshift lightning rods during the storm - Get Paper Pleasers to bed - Final rounds - Find a way home...
The entire song is both amazing and yet painful to imagine that Ruby has fallen that far from who she thought she wanted to be... It's why if anyone ever does the "Ruby Song" combination like the Weiss/Yang ones that exist on youtube I hope they remember to include it. It's very important to her story.
Also those visions ruby were seeing were her' from PTSD btw not from Neo's semblance, cus when neo uses her semblance you'll see the residual pink crystals as they change or shift
I respect that you didn't have an emotional breakdown when Ruby snapped. It was a long time coming and Ruby (like it or not) needed this. Everybody had their lowest point: Weiss - Going back to Jacque Yang - Suffering PTSD Blake - her relationship with Adam Jaune - being stuck in the Ever After for Decades! But Ruby was always the most optimistic, which unfortunately means she had to fall the furthest.
Also Jaune - Pyrrha sacrificing herself to try and stop Cinder in V3, and Penny asking Jaune to kill her in V8 to stop Cinder from getting her Maiden powers
Honestly this hurt a lot . Both Ruby and Jaune are in pain and are not okay. Jaune for being alone for decades and living with the guilt of failing to save Pyrrha , penny the village in V4 ,Weiss in V5 .While Ruby is struggling with ptsd and the fate of the world on her shoulders. It’s been that way since volume 6 and has only gotten worse. Everyone including her teammates wether intentionally or not thrust the weight of “Leading “ the fight against Salem on to her, even though she is the youngest. This is bad on so many levels because that forced Ruby to have to grow up faster and hold everyone together by herself since all the adults Either left, drunk,died, or weren’t mentally stable themselves. So when Ruby snapped she had every right to even if it was cruel since no one in the party really and I mean really tried to take notice of Ruby’s trauma. Anyway this situation is so complicated and sad but Jesus, people need to be mentally ready for next episode ( all jokes aside).
Ruby literally fainted when Weiss told her what happened to Penny, I'm honestly struggling to understand why the rest of the team haven't made *some* time to talk to her before. Sure, lots going on, as always. But, they spent hours entertaining the Cat to get closer to the tree. One of them couldn't handle that while someone else talked to Ruby for a bit? But yeah, completely understandable that she and Jaune were lashing out at each other. Completely agree with the laundry list of trauma Jaune is coping with. I'm not sure it's the leadership so much for Ruby. More than anything, her 'smaller, more honest soul' philosophy isn't coping with how hard and unfair the situation is. She's going to have to find a way to temper her idealism without getting cynical. Ugh.
half Volume 7 and the entire Volume 8 happened in just a couple of days and without almost any sleep in between, just trauma(Salem talking about killing Summer) after trauma(the realization that Salem has experimented on silver eyed people and the though of tha maybe could happened to Summer too) after trauma(see Yang fell from the platforms), and Ruby was standing as a leader the whole time, she is just at the point from opening 2 ''There's a point where it tips. There's a point where it breaks. There's a point where it bends. And a point we just can't take... anymore'' :c P.S. Beware, the next episode is definitively the darkest one in the whole series history, by far, really far.

I liked your take on the episode; you saw the hurt on both sides. Ruby was breaking and Jaune was already broken. Neither were in the right to explode, but they both had the right to explode because what they have been through.
Girl I’m just gonna say your NOT gonna be ready for next episode. Apparently they like to make episode 8 of each volume dark. But this was a serious new level. Seriously, just be ready it’s the darkest in the series.
To think that Ruby was the optimistic and cheerful of the group, it must also be said that she is the youngest of all of them, which I think affects her emotional state the most. I remember when ozpin once said that ruby has the ability to give hope to others even in dark times and now she is the one who needs to be given hope We have all exploded emotionally at some point. I know how it feels, keeping everything and not knowing what to do has happened to me twice. The first time (I don't know if I should tell you since I have epilepsy but I'll tell you) was at university. I had a hurricane of emotions due to family problems, more than I had a fight with my best and only friend, plus the stress I felt at that moment, that set of emotions. it caused me to have a seizure "I fainted" (according to me I fainted since I am not aware of what happens around me when I have a seizure) I had a seizure and from one moment to the next I don't know why I woke up on the ground and then I found out that I had a crisis (extra fact: it was a hassle to communicate with my family since I had my cell phone with a password to then call an ambulance). and the second would be after finishing my internship after the entire semester my boss has to send a letter about what he saw in me in the internship and what he posted was so bad (opposite of the praise he was saying) that I didn't even know how to process it I didn't know how to feel at that moment I didn't even know what to say to my parents since I didn't feel anything and I didn't understand why I didn't get anything emotional but just when I talk to my head teacher (who is super strict although she was right when she told me that if she hadn't read the letter before she would have saved me all the low esteem I had at that time) and it just had to be her I let off steam by telling her that I felt so disappointed and sad among other things that I don't remember well
As much as this episode hurts, PLEASE be prepared for the next episode because as someone else said, the warning isn’t enough. Just be very careful, there’s a lot of triggers.
Great reaction 👍 and yep that felt a really tough episode to watch, especially as someone who Ruby and Jaune have been their favourite characters from the start - my heart breaking for both of them this series. Depends how the writing takes us - and since when have CRWBY ever been predictable?! - but I feel they're both in so much pain, that each could be the best person to help the other if they could only recognise it. They're also both the two who are team leaders, so both feel something of that always being the one responsible for others. RWBY may not be the best anime by a wide margin, but I love this show.
@@chrisdiokno5600 no. He talks and yells and jumps around over the dialogue, so I have to memorize it before I watch him. I prefer reactors that connect with the characters and show it instead of demonstrating how much they love the sound of their voice. Definitely not my cup of tea.
Yeah, the changes to the opening credits, as the plot progresses, is something they also did with gen:LOCK. I guess they decided to reuse it here, since that series was a fizzle (much to my dismay).
The song sounds great, yes, but the lyrics are horrific, and it is a Ruby song. The lyrics are not written badly, no they are very poignant, just the emotional impact of them is horrific, to me.
