I like how Salem isn't a thing and that Grimm don't answer to anyone. That volume 3 reveal was dumb. The villain should have just been Cinder, who's using Grimm for her own purposes. Sort of like how a terrorist would release a contagion in a crowded metro. I guess in Alt she would be Anicist cult leader, trying to start conflict and disrupt the world order to let Grimm in and punish humanity for their sins. Which would be a more interesting motive than "I wanna be a Maiden, I wanna I wanna I wanna!"

So feeling like a Game of thrones vibe over here where there is no bad guys, just horrible decision and choices led to irredeemable outcome

I can only hope things go differently than before, because I don't think I can sit through another round of hot potato with the position of server owner

Please please please let this remain as a project done by a few core creatives (moderated by Jerry). I’ve tried creating MANY cooperative creative projects and the minute you open it up to the general public it ALWAYS crashes and burns. The general public are not good writers. This applies doubly so for anime fans.

RWBY is my guilty pleasure because everyone calls it shitty but I don’t exactly think it’s that bad so I enjoy watching it, but this rewrite is phenomenal. You and everyone in your discord are so talented and brilliant and this show would be too good for a site like Roosterteeth, this show would be Emmy nominated.

I like RWBY, but I also LOVE the idea of Alternate Realities and Alternate Universes. Taking the ideas and putting different spins and stories on them.

Man, this video reminds me of the movie “A Monster Calls” where the first story is told. It’s such a great underrated movie. Everyone needs to see it at least once. I really like this alternate story, it’s too bad that things went out of hand during the first alternate days, where discord went to a vast of toxic waste. Since the stereotype of fandoms is set in stone of its toxicity. The majority of people aren’t well... smart. I guess, people do stupid stuff after all. Even for the most pettiest things. Emotions are such an easy way out. Like that disney WWII propaganda cartoon where it’s rational vs emotion. Forgot what the cartoon was called... anyway can’t wait for part 2!

Though I like this a lot. I seriously don't enjoy people who rewrite rwby completely to the point it's basically different. It would be nice to have rwby alternate/Rwby made better using only the content in it and adjusting to actually be good. And yes the show can be good it's just badly done

While this rewrite alternate is good as it's own story...its just so far off from the show that it's not RWBY while wearing a RWBY skin. Maybe it's not for me but the best rwby fanfics for me are those that took what the show introduced and fleshed it out rather than this total conversion mod that essentially just uses RWBY as a skin but it's a completely unrelated story.

This is definitely not the stuff I would've wanted original RWBY to be, but you've put a lot of hard work and interesting ideas into it, so I'd love to see you make this. I do, however, think it'd work a bit better as it's own story with it's own concepts rather than leaning on RWBY's original ideas. you've got a great idea I'd buy if it was it's own thing, so I'd love to see it be it's own, unsuable thing

I get the feeling that with all these changes, and all the work you put into this, that you could publish this as a stand alone book in a few months time.

That's what I hate about Dark Souls. Is the value of the soul an arbitrary measurement based on inherint properties of a soul? What are these properties? Or is there a standard soul measurement system? Who's soul is used as a basis, those husks or the snails? Do people actually use souls to buy stuff in universe? Why are people allowed to steal souls or even use them as currency in the first place, that's like literally taking your pound of flesh but on a deeper level. Do souls get stronger or is Yhorm just carrying around a few thousand souls? That does not seem like a viable economic strategy.

Watching this feels like an acid trip, speedrunning your history exam, a tapistry of great concepts and ideas, and a wild slideshow of anime memes. I loved every second of it.

one thing you could do with a character like jaune is show the resurgence of the chivalric ideal in the great war much in the same way the R.A.F did in ww2. and with the resurgence of this ideal comes a resurgence of the warrior class though in a much different way than before. now the warrior cast is confined to the frontiers for unending combat against the grimm but they make a living following the idealized fantasy of the past with farmers giving a portion of their harvest to the warriors who protect them, causing the hunters to live hand to mouth. they will never again rise to prominence like they did in their hay day but they will also never be undone as a group their way of life stable being both kind in peace and fierce in war. a glimpse at fantasy where the bad guys are literal creatures of darkness and the Goodguys are unmatched heroes with amazing powers and strong morals. basically, there's a happyish ending for hunters because they found a nitch but they are effectively left behind. a dangerous relic of the past that would cost far too much to destroy when it's effectively incapable of harming you.

So can we do Fan Art again for RWBY ALTERNATE? Not sure where we going to post them, any ideas?

No, this isn't RWBY, this is your own original story. You should do what Rooster Teeth did when they wanted to tell their own stories; and tell your own stories. I really don't understand why people do this kind of "AUs"; when you're so far away from the source material, why call it a fanfic? Why not give it original names that you can copyright? You know you can make money off your own copyrighted material right? You can't do that with fanfiction

And then, with those basic flashes of ‘Good Hunting’ I now want to see that movie

As someone who has been watching since before volume 3 came out, thank you for recognising that a series primarily about fighting should probably end in a war. *I cannot express my disappointment that RWBY volume 4 didn't feature a war between Atlas and litterally anyone.* Thank you.

I was on the Discord server for a bit, and I kind of felt like it was getting out of control when they rewrote Ruby's and Yang's backstory twice so I do think they were a little out of control, but I think that there were valid ideas. I think that having the Semblances have three stages representing Body, Mind and Soul was a cool idea, giving a level of growth to characters, but taking Semblances away and just giving aura is a little dumb to me. I also think the tug of war between fantasy and sci-fi is kind of dumb, as you're saying that they were a modern day society before the fall, then when they had no way of fighting grim because they're too weak, they GENETICALLY ENGINEER super soldiers with their vast amounts of no technology, only for guns and cannons to be made like 200 years later, making hunters useless. If that was the case, then when not make guns instead of super soldiers? Your version of dust is just gunpowder that conducts an electric current, so it could be very easy to make flintlock rifles and pistols. I think that your idea to rewrite RWBY is a good one, as the show so far is less than stellar, (Season 7 is turning out to be pretty good in my opinion though. Little to much fan service with ships becoming canon but I can deal with that.) but I think that you're trying to minimize it too much. Maybe have Semblances come back, either through regular RWBY means of "one semblance" or the discord version of "three stages that get progressively stronger". Maybe make dust a teeny bit more powerful, (spitballing here) maybe make dust a living thing that, under different conditions, evolved to six different types. Areas like deserts and volcanos made fire dust, areas that are known for powerful storms or near conductive materials made electric dust, areas with lots of pressure like the bottom of the ocean made gravity dust, tundras making ice dust, places that get good amounts of sunlight make light dust, and dark places with little light like caves make dark dust. I know the idea's a little dumb but finding gunpowder and deciding to not make guns and instead make super soldiers is a little silly too.
