Torchwick's death is still the single worst part of the show to me. Killin off my favorite character like that... Why you gotta do me dirty like that roosterteeth T-T
@@tannerlebel5167 I had that thought in the shower tonight. Like they could reveal that the Grimm was a product of Emeralds Semblance or something. Torchwick was an incredible villain.
Its not even jost that , his death it self was good . Like chiling , proff that the real world is cold and crule , the bad part is that it had NO impact on any thing . And i dont count neo comeing back 3 years later . Ruby didnt care that romen died . Thats why it suckd and i want him back .
Die is the hidden RWBY contrast to Red like roses but. No one knew if the song belonged to Roman’s leitmotif but it took time to tell the difference and similarities
0:44 this scene and score is probably what gave me the most chills in volume 1 other than the opening monologue after seeing the volume 3 Salem/ narrator reveal
There's a low Chance he's alive. Though you shouldn't Bet on it or not. He's a real WildCard. You could call him the Joker in the Stack. (I'll stop now :p)
@@joaquinpalillo Since he was swallowed in 1 bite (no chewing) its possible that he remained in one bit in the grimms stomach and maybe fought himself out.
Honestly just the best villain in the show. Such an aggressive showing of character, implications of a deeper individual than what’s seen, and the best combo of chaotic evil and chaotic lawful. Yes I said Chaotic Lawful. He acts all loose cannon, but has a strict set of personal morals (or lack thereof) we can occasionally see at play.
I’d say he’s Neutral Evil. As you said, he heads an organized crime syndicate, but he doesn’t really follow a code of any kind. He’s definitely evil though. More than once throughout the series he beats an unarmed girl (Ruby) with his cane, and you can tell he’s having a great time doing it. He thinks it’s fun/relaxing to cause pain to others.
I’d love a Neo character short. Or just a flashback within an actual volume in the vain of Midnight. Simply because it would be the most natural way to see Roman again. Neo was the one thing Roman seemed to sincerely care about so seeing the beginnings of their relationship would surely add some layers to his character and Neo’s.
@@r.e.m7148 I'd care to disagree since Tyrian was able to fulfill Watts' wishes by creating more chaos, hence Clover's death. Seems pretty crafty, or at least clever, to me. Plus, Roman wasn't able to craftily escape that griffin.
If you read the book "Roman's Holidays" you'll empathise a lot with him, what for me is the most stunning thing about his character is that clearly he has sadistic desires and loves stealing, But that's really all, he isn't a Narcissistic psychopath because he truly cares for Neo and wouldn't leave her behind, he almost gave up his life in exchange of her's. I think he could be a truly redeemable villain
hands down the best rwby leitmotif, change my mind (you cant) i dont have the musical knowledge nor terminology to explain properly, but the way ruby and roman’s leitmotifs go together is * chef’s kiss * !! i feel like their musical similarities are perfect, given the hero/villain dichotomy
I've said it near a decade ago on the old video, and I still think it holds true today. I love that his theme is like a darker Red Like Roses, he was Ruby's foil in personality. A shame her true rival is gone... (For now) The part with Neo wearing his hat, and the solemn piano sent me chills when I first saw it. It was like the song spoke for her...
"Clean the dishes, sweep the floors. Shut your mouth and do your chores..." Am I just hearing things or did that originate with this?! Someone just pointed this out to me and it fits too well. Cinder's song from volume 8 sounds so similar.
It does seem similar but I'd guess it's probably just coincidence. The melody from The Truth is almost the exact same as the one from Sacrifice, barring like 1 or 2 notes.
@@Changyuraptor I noticed the similarity there too but I wasn't sure if that was just because it's a similarly unsettling villains song. All Things Must Die starts with a vibe like that too but I didn't think of anything innately in the composition as being similar.
Ah rest in peace Torchwick, the gentleman thief packed with snark, classic one-liners and the one responsible for everyone's favourite pint-sized murder machine. You passed too early, but perhaps that was a kinder fate for what was to come.
The moment Roman was introduced I was in love his behavior sad to see him kill off so fast he would have been interesting to see again later part of the show
He’s based off a character from Pinocchio… and Pinocchio, as we all know, escaped from a beast’s stomach using smoke. Imagine if torchwick had a few cigars on him.
I like when the Neo and Torchwick vs Ruby fight comes on how it's like a mixture of Torchwhick's and Neo's leitmotif because of Neo's illusiony sound effect on top of Torchwhick's music
1:50 I just can't stop thinking about this part being quite similar to "red like roses" I can't be the only one who's noticed, which makes him even a better antagonist, highlighting Ruby's and Torchwick rivalry or whatever you want to call it. Or perhaps it's just a coincidence, but still pretty cool if you ask me
Huh, yeah, I guess it does sound like a darker version of Ruby's theme. If nothing else they are ideological opposites in their world views and how they see human nature. Pity that battle of beliefs wasn't expanded on a little more before he died.
@@dreadraththeres also the contrast of color (Roman wearing red and white while ruby Red and black) the fight style parallelism (meanwhile ruby is fast and shoots a lot, Roman is almost immobile constantly blocking and usually prefers to depend on precise heavy hits. Making Roman very good at fighting people vs ruby being very good against Grimm) and the personality (ruby being awkward and hyperactive meanwhile Roman is very eloquent with words and very sarcastic with a constant annoyed tone) Theres another couple things to show why Roman was a great foe to ruby but that would be adding too much I’m not even sure of but I could add Sadly no other villain of rwby came close to making so many good parallels and kept the characters interesting and to actually interact
I totally understand that out of all the villans he was suppose to be killed off the soonest, he was planned first, but damn did they do a complete ass job of it, and not to mention he's the ONLY fucking one to die for 7 seasons after this is stupid as hell
I do wonder what Roman's semblance would have been if he had ever unlocked it. Like Telepathy or Attention manipulation. Maybe even shadow/light manipulation.
I don't care about the animation. I don't care about the writing problems. I don't care what everyone says, even if they are right. This show is awesome and I love it so much.
