RWBY Volume 6 Episode 13 Reaction 

So the Volume 7 premiere was originally going to be the Volume 6 finale, but they didn't haven't enough time to make the assets for a whole new city just for one city, so they moved it to V7

I love the fact that Ruby recognizes that her team is trying to put her on some pedestal she doesn't really want to be on, a bit of a throwback to one of the very first episodes where she says she just wants to be a normal girl with normal knees. She has not really changed in that regard, I feel it's one of her core values that is the most endearing. Kudos to the writers for not messing with that in particular!

FYI, when Cinder reminisced about "someone asking her if she believes in destiny" (and then saying that she still does) she was talking about Pyrrha's last words before she killed her. RWBY does that a lot where a character says something which is then episodes/seasons later repeated by another character. Anyways, you guys should buckle up for V7-9... stuff gets really crazy

Following orders has limits especially when danger is on the doorstep.....lucky the crazy shoe(mech) lady came to her senses after seeing Ruby's actions

So, for anyone not aware, the woman in white we see while Ruby is charging her eyes? That is Summer Rose, Ruby's mother.

"A protector is a symbol of comfort... but an army is a symbol of conflict." *Arrive at Atlas, immediately on edge because the fleet is phalanxed around the city.* James Ironwood really just... didn't learn. He created so many of his own problems...

The gifted knowledge Jinn gave Ruby was likely the image of her mother. It's interesting to note that while Jinn is under strict rules about giving out knowledge, she does have some amount of agency. I like how she makes it clear she won't let Ruby use her again without a question but still admires the cleverness of it.

Indomitable was CRWBYs song to tell the world thar they're still here. We may have lost Monty, but they're still pushing forward.

The Apathy Grimm are considered one of the most gruesome Grimm in the series. The writers had actually planned to introduce them sooner but story wise it worked better in this volume. Ken: I want more villains. The fan base: 🤐🤐🤐

The song playing when Ruby used her eyes, Indomitable, is one Of My FAVORITES. Always gives me chills.😊

I hope that when their listening to the songs of this season they pay attention to the lyrics of Adam's song most people tend to overlook the very first set of lyrics when actually it's really really dark

This was definitely the Lore volume. It was by far the most emotionally impactful outside the last 3 chapters of volume 3.

The soundtrack when Ruby is summoning the power of her silver eyes always makes me think of Worlds Collide

Fun Facts Fact 1: The episode title is a callback to "Lost", when Ruby tells Qrow, "We've been in bad situations before, and we don't need an adult to come save us or tell us what to do. We just did it our way! And I say we do it our way." The title may also allude to one of the last lines of the Volume 6 opening theme, "Rising": "As sun seeks day, we'll find our way". Fact 2: Cinder mentioning someone asking her if she believe in destiny to Neo is a callback to "End of the Beginning", when Pyrrha asked Cinder if she believes in destiny during her final moments. Fact 3: The Leviathan rising from the sea and attacking Argus bears a heavy resemblance to Godzilla; both are very similar giant aquatic lizards and have an energy breath attack. Fact 4: The post-credits scene of Salem with the winged Beringels is a reference to The Wizard of Oz, when the Wicked Witch dispatches her flying monkeys to capture Dorothy. Fact 5: During the fight with the Leviathan, Ruby flashes back to several scenes in the series. However, the past scenes are drawn in 2D illustrations instead of taking screenshots from each of the episodes. Fact 8: This is the last episode where Vic Mignogna voices Qrow.

Why does everyone blame Cordovin when these teenagers attempted to steal military equipment to illegally enter another "country"? Just cuz they're doing "the right thing"? It's been pointed out in the past that it'd've been easier to send the Lamp with Weiss to Atlas, she meets with Ironwood, he gives permission for the others to come to Atlas.

You may notice next volume that Qrow's voice actor is changed. Vic Minogna, the VA for Qrow, Edward Elric from Full Metal Alchemist, and Broly in the DBS movie, was falsely accused of some terrible shit by Bulma's english VA if i remember correctly and despite being proven false in a court of law, his career was essentially ruined. Cons he was supposed to attend told him not to come, he lost his role as Qrow, and was backstabbed by most of the industry it seems. Terrible what happened to him, he seems to be a genuine guy from what I know.

7:52 - 11:47 They have no reason to believe that a random Huntress would have a way of stopping this monster normally, much less one piloting a currently stolen ship and who just also took out their Anti-Giant Grimm Weapon. For all they know it is a distraction to make them focus somewhere other than evacuating the civilians while they commit a massacre. The fall of Beacon was only a couple of months ago which was caused by traitorous Hunters and Huntresses

I started watching Volume 7 cause I was trying to catch up before V9 but then I saw you guys watching Rwby so I stopped and began watching you two and so far it’s been the best to rewatch it all but also to see your reactions

Still the best volume ending, for me in the entire series!!! I know some will disagree and I respect that. But, the unpredictably til the end had me so much....... And it still brings me to tears hearing Indomitable.😢✊🏿 By the way, that was our first glimpse of Summer Rose!! The apex of a volume of epic moments!!! Can't wait to hear your thoughts on the soundtrack, Ken & Beth!! So now, Atlas await!!! And going by what we have seen and heard about Atlas & Gen. Ironwood thru the last 3 volumes, things are going to be not so cut and dried. And as for Salem, she's cooking up something for sure...... This is gonna be intense. So, buckle up........ Til then, keep being awesome and STAY GOLDEN!! 🫡🌹❄️🖤🔥

To be fair, all of this is quite literally Ruby and her team’s fault 😂 they can’t just steal from and assault a foreign military and expect them to take that with no explanation. For all they know Ruby and her team are terrorists trying to infiltrate a closed kingdom. That’s like stealing someone’s wallet so you could pay for a surgery and not giving any explanation. Then when they defend themselves, you beat them up and blame them for the beating 😂😂

Loved this! Now onto the season I haven't watched yet, can't wait to experience it with you two! Eventually, I'd love if you two reacted to the Multiverse Tales series by RU-vidr PopCross Studios!

I believe that the next Volume (and the one after it) are seen as something of a low point, so it'll be interesting to see how you react to it.

The writers have said that the Atlas military uses the Argus base as a place to kick people they don't like to, so Cordovin and her soldiers are there just to get them out of the way

5:12 I just love this look with "All that matters" playing in the background. This show has a real talent for subtlety, in it's Storytelling, that gets ignored/underapreciated by a lot of People

I feel like Mercury feels a lot more than he usually shows... And that includes the fact that he cares quite a bit about Emerald.

So about the vilains, one thing that I love about Salem and her soldiers, is that in every volume they speek about what they will do next, like here Salem "do it herself", and when the next volume come, we see their action. For me it is a clever way to show that Salem is one step ahead of our heroes.

Yeah after Ruby hugged Blake and gave Yang that 'look' it was like "she's gonna be my Sister-in-law isn't she?"

Quick non-spoiler warning for next season in case you didn't know, Qrow has a new voice actor starting next season. It may take a minute to get used to it but he does an amazing job either way.

I know you try to keep the channel PG13 so I’ll apologise in advance for the language. The song that plays when Ruby finally eye-blasts the Leviathan is called Indomitable. On premiere the fan base through we’d finally got a new Ruby specific song, based on the lyrics we heard. On release of the full version we realised it’s a Monty song and it’s fucking devastating. Casey sounds like she’s struggling to say the words. Anyway, yeah, Atlas floats and there have been clever hints to this throughout the show, passing references to it being “up there” and the airships flying by Weiss’s bedroom window. Edited out my original last paragraph because another commenter had it more right than me. V6E14 became V7E1 and having seen that you’ll know what the real end of Volume twist was going to be.

Killing Adam isn't really something that should be celebrated. It's a tragedy that things had to get to that point and shows how the cruelty of the world can warp someone who could have been great into a monster. Yes, it's better that he's dead at this point, but it sucks it ended up there

So stoked to see what you guys think about Volume 7, a lot of people don't like it but it's my personal favourite. Also can't wait for the V6 soundtrack, it's got some bangers

I am pretty sure I may have mentioned that this show will be a rollercoaster ride of emotion and various levels of excitement, awe, and depression. Without giving away any spoilers prepare for jubilation in V7 C1, also there will be a voice actor change for Qrow (a whole drama that I am not going to get into), but the new voice does sound pretty similar.

Yang finally using her semblance again in the adam fight as the biggest "fuck you" to him was such a highlight.

I understand that in the heat of the tension from the protagonists viewpoint it is easy to think "Screw you guys" to the Atlas soldiers, but considering that the last time their Aircraft was "high jacked" and became marked hostile during a crisis like this it led to the literal downfall of an entire region and a global blackout of the comms system, I think its perfectly reasonable for them to deny support to random "huntsman" who are marked in a hostile ship suddenly telling them to listen and do what they say. From the Atlesian perspective. A group of Huntsman that they were told not to trust in the past during a crisis (Cinder's entire group pretending to be Huntsman during the tournament segment of the story) ended up hijacking and hacking their entire system, compliment of automaton soldiers /and/ were able to facilitate entire teams of hijacked gunships bringing in hordes of Grimm into the city. RWBY's group is caught stealing an Atlas gunship while their trying to heavily monitor all traffic to ensure something like that doesn't happen again, refuses any form of cognitive explanation besides "Just trust us" and is more or less expecting to be aloud to go into the most militarized nation in the world during a period of turmoil right after that militarized nation had major security breaches. I think its perfectly reasonable that they, who are not very well known to basic Atlesian personnel or commanding officials, are not given trust for attempting to steal or hijack their stuff.

Get ready, vol.7/Atlus arc is going to get REAL

I think the most nuanced thing about this volume was Blake being upset about killing Adam. People would most likely congratulate her but she would gain no sense of pride or accomplishment for killing someone that was her former partner and mentor.

The next 2 season are wild.

Neo would had been such a powerful ally if she was on Team RWBY's side. But I know that was not gonna happen due to Roman.

It's not so much that Hazel just lost his sister so he's just going with Salem now. It's that he specifically blames Ozpin because initially he felt that Oz made a mistake sending his sister who he viewed as being just a child (granted somewhere between 17-21 so definitely young) on a mission she wasn't ready for (she died on a training mission). Then Salem saw this guy who's now got a grudge against Oz and then shows the bigger picture of what Oz is really fighting against, and it enraged him more. The idea that Oz recruits children into a war against an unkillable foe and they don't even know the full picture. He want's to make Oz pay for all the lives wasted, especially his sister. In many ways he is what Jaune could've become at this point if it wasn't for the rest of his team and the moment at Pyrrha's statue.

This was my favorite volume until volume 9 replaced it, barely.

You guys should definitely react to “So this is basically RWBY” now that you’ve finished volume 6! It’s hilarious and I’d love to see you guys react to it! 😂

She is the real hero for snapping out of it and making the final blow to the Grimm with a drill.

one of the things I sort of noticed is after volume 3, every 3 volumes focus on a region. Travel in the region (volume), arrival or exploration at the main city (volume), and the main battle or story (volume). It allows the viewers a way to understand and explore the region too which is cool.

So hyped for next season's reactions! You guys will have had a lot to discuss and I look forward to hearing your thoughts. Personally, Weiss continues to be one of my favourites, she just seems to speak when no one else wants to and is a lot of the comedy these days.

I feel like this volume is the volume that kinda sets in stone the darker and more mature theme that the show takes

When you review the soundtrack, i think you two will really love "Indomitable". It's about more than RWBY, as you'll see.

This is probably my all time favorite RWBY finale, I love the emotions and Ruby's willpower, coupled with Indomitable, my favorite song from the RWBY soundtrack.

The song where Ruby blasts the Leviathan is called Indomitable. Look it up--seriously. Find the long version of the song, listen, and then look at what the lyrics all mean. It's deep.

While I will agree most people would move away, I ask you, to where. Grim are outside the city, or above, and a creature coming from the lake. If they leave the town, they face grim out there, and a full blown panic will bring the grim to them too. It tough for sure

HOnestly it wasnt Cordobvins fault it was theirs they got their answer and they refused to take no for an answer like children and stole a ship with global communications down for all she knew they were on their way to infiltrate the kingdom and attack it and if they got away with the ship they had no other way to send the message out before they got there. She may be petty but it was not her fault

Don't know if you've heard the news yet but Rooster Teeth got shut down and the rights to their shows are being sold off.

Now that you're done with V6, check out "So This is Basically RWBY" by Jelloapocalypse.

Something I want to say about the next couple of seasons, regarding the show's queer representation. I don't even consider this a spoiler because it has absolutely no effect on the story. There is a very minor character that is a trans woman, and she does basically nothing except exist for nearly two seasons before becoming relevant on her own, and I don't think her name is even mentioned before she lore dumps her traumatic backstory. And she's terrible. She isn't a villain or anything, she isn't even antagonist. There is simply nothing about the character to enjoy as a fan. She simply exists until suddenly she needs to argue with the heroes for a really dumb reason. Meanwhile as a trans person, I look back at Penny's story through the first three seasons, and I see her as much better representation. Her one line "I'm not a real girl" even adds so much to her characterization, and really hits home for me. Just goes to show that simply throwing rep characters in doesn't always work.

Volume 7 is gonna be a roller coaster of story ajd emotions

You may have a soft spot for Qrow, but soon you'll see(hear) that Qrow has a soft spot in his voice. (Voice actor change)
