The man in the second to last song with Team RWBY was not Oscar or Qrow - it was Monty Oum himself. "Indomitable" was Monty's word of choice when describing his view of humanity as people. He inherently saw the light in humanity and the creativity we have, and the crew wanted to celebrate his legacy. Casey, according to the team, could barely sing the song on the days she was recording, as she was crying through her lines. Monty was taken from us FAR too soon, which is something that I think everyone can agree with. Rest in peace to a beautiful man with a beautiful heart and mind.
For the song "Indomitable," it's actually a song about Monty Oum, who was the creator of RWBY and passed away unexpectedly. That wasn't Oscar in the art piece, it was Monty.
Tracklist Timestamps VI 0:00 Intro 0:20 Rising 4:09 Miracle 8:20 One Thing 12:06 Lionize 15:49 Big Metal Shoe 18:38 Nevermore 23:30 Indomitable 28:33 Forever Fall
23:30 "Indomitable" Is about Monty Oum and that is him in the picture with RWBY. There are a couple of hints in the song. The map of Remnant was built from a ketchup stain on a napkin after a Monty visit to IHOP. Build a world 'frame by frame', that is what animators essentially do, build everything, one frame at a time. The song also has numerous aphorisms that Monty favored including 'the spirit is indomitable' line. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-4YwxwyweT0k.htmlsi=CZweQwJkiNgkuorR This video makes it obvious and my fav for Indomitable, alas, it does not include lyrics.
So the Last song you listened too was the short version, taken direktly from the Episode bevor the soundtrack was out. Thats why you hear the voices too. There is a full version out too. And Indomitable was about Monty Oum and it is him on the Picture with team RWBY. A song i still can´t listen without some tears.
I really like the one line in Nevermore that goes, "There's no pleasure, there's no joy. It's just a story of a boy who lost his way." Adam was a piece of shit, at least by the time the story began, but they still don't see killing him as something to celebrate. To them, it's just sad that it had to come to that.
the lyric "eenie, meenie my, time for you to die" absolutely floors me every time i hear it. Whatever i'm doing comes to a screeching halt and i need to take a break. "Hickory Dickory, flawless victory" is a close second and has a similar effect..
"Rising"-Intro "Miracle"-was during the train fight specifically as the two groups separate (I've heard that the chaotic part towards the end was supposed to be like the Grimm closing in bringing in chaos and discord to the song) "One Thing"-was during the Neo and Cinder fight (I haven't read it but I know that there is a book called Roman Holiday that explains Neo's backstory and explains why she cared so much about him. He was like the first "good" thing to happen to her.) "Lionize"-played during the Adam character short "Big Metal Shoe"-played towards the start of the fight against Cordovin's mech "Nevermore"-season end credits "Indomitable"-played when Ruby used her silver eyes against the Leviathan Grimm (mostly a song about Monty Oum, parts of the lyrics are references to a blog post and a tweet from written by Monty one shortly after his mother passed away and the other a year after. There's also the line "It's a map fashioned from a stain" which references how Monty came up with the map of Remnant from a ketchup stain on a napkin. The picture is supposed to be Monty with RWBY not Oscar) "Forever Fall"-when Jaune was had his moment with the Pyrrha statue and as others have pointed out you listened to a cut version taken straight from the episode. You definitely should check out the full 5 and a half minute version.
We had wondered why the version was so weird, not sure why they even have a cut version of that song. We will try to remember to tack it on to Volume 7 soundtrack 🤔
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitive2They have cut versions of MOST songs because after they air people want the songs but the OST hasn't come out yet, so they upload what's in the show, sound effects, voices and all.
Nevermore is one of my all time favourites. The switching conversation like style is so well done and fits perfectly to the whole "closure" his death brought them as they litteraly scream in relief
one thing is about how neo had nothing no family or friends then torchwick came along *then a candle came with a brand new name* and gave her purpose and cared for her he wasn't just her boss he was like a father so to her cinder and now ruby took everything from her, she is hurting more than anyone could understand
The thing is Adam was praised to much and it got to his head which is the irony of the song also he's such a good character in terms of how it works like his persona of this cold badass warrior crumbling to reveal the weak and insecure man underneath Also indomitable is not just about Ozpin but more about Monty the creator who unfortunately passed away and the story of how Rwby came to be
I was bracing myself just after "indomitable" but dang its an episode cut of "forever fall" haha. A vid reacting to the full version of forever fall we'd watch it.
Neo's song is so sad if you know the backstory. She was the child of rich parents who kept her trapped and didn't let her have her own life. Roman freed her from that, and let her be her own person. And now he's gone. And all she has left is vengeance.
Yes, indeed. If you haven't read it yet, read 'Roman Holiday'!! It's the story of Neo and how she met Roman Torchwick. You'll see why the flames of vengeance burns WHITE HOT in her.
The lyrics of Indomitable actually mention "It's map fashioned from a stain", and this is actually a true story. The map of remnant got it's outline from a stain on a napkin.
This one of best RWBY soundtracks in the whole series. I love all the songs, Nevermore is one of my top 3 songs ever and ”Indomitable” is a great song honoring Monty the creator of the show. It’s amazing that this show has become so great from just an idea of one person. ❤❤
Great reaction, looking forwards to your next one! Couple of points, just to re-iterate what many have already said: "Indomitable" is about Monty, and that was him in the pic with Team RWBY. Casey has said several times that the song was very hard for her to record and that she isn't sure she'd be able to do it again without breaking down. "Forever Fall" you got seriously shorted on, like, might-change-your-ranking shorted on. It's a great song, but also like 5+minutes long, so you really should go look up the actual song. Best part is how you can here the theme all the way back in Volume 1, it really makes it hit when you realise that it's been there in every single one of their interactions.
"Indomitable." Damn it, "Indomitable." When this played today, and when it played when you watched the Leviathan scene, and Summer came on screen, waterfalls of tears all down my face. My mom passed away in late March, and I thought I was "all cried out". Nope.
Me, reading the comments about Forever Fall: "Huh, that sounds unfortunate." Me, watching the moment: "Oh god it's worse than I imagined!" Lmao, dapper Oscar 🤣
Yeah once everyone told us it was actually Monty it made a lot more sense. Also we will have to check out the full version of Forever Fall at some point 😅
There are multiple ways for a song to be associated with a villain; There are songs for a villain and songs for fighting a villain, you liked the songs for fighting the villains you didn't like.
Rising - Pretty solid opening. I love the bridge. That opening guitar is so good and hype. Miracle - First episode during the train fight. Specifically the second half of the episode. The bridge on this one is so distorted that it’s kind of amazing. Good but not my jam. The piano is also excellent. One Thing - Showed up during Neo’s fight with Cinder in episode 5. I really like this hint to her and Roman’s shared history. Honestly, such a banger. If you have any interest in learning more about Neo I’d recommend the book Roman Holiday. It’s a good read. Lionized - As you probably guessed, from the Character Short. And while I don’t like Adam as a person, his song is pretty rad. Again, not my style but it’s always fun to hear Jeff getting up there. Big Metal Shoe - During the fight between the kids and Cordo. Honestly this one is just a ton of fun. I love all the fairytale/nursery rhyme allusions. And this is one of my favorite raps, it’s just so quick. Nevermore - Credit song. Easily my favorite of the volume. I also love how they clarify that Adam’s death was just sad and not something either girl wished to do. Love that we get a proper duet with Casey and Adrianne. Indomitable - When Ruby freezes the leviathan in episode 13. I love the difference between this song and Cold from V3. Cold is in the midst of the loss of Monty, rolling in grief and sadness. This one, while it’s clear that they still miss and love Monty, they’ve learned to walk again with his motto clear in their minds. It’s just so sweet and makes me cry every time I listen to it. (Yes, I cried watching this video).
28:00 That's Monty. The song is about his legacy in RWBY. "A map fashioned from a stain" is referring to how he created the map of Remnant by squirting some ketchup in a napkin and folding it.
I got most of these on Spotify and neo's song is my favourite for this volume, you can't help wanting her to succeed with her revenge, I hope you're ready for the next few volumes, they are sensational
24:26 the song y’all heard here was painful and beautiful, the art used for the song was obviously Team RWBY, but also they were around a drawn version of Monty Oum the creator of RWBY…and as y’all know he died before this came out. So it was also an Homage to him.😢❤🫡
In My Opinion, Indomitable is the best song from all the RWBY Soundtracks through volume 9. FYI - Casey Lee had to hear this song 20-30 times before she could record the final tracks for it. Many of the Lyrics were quotes from Monty, while other parts referred to the work of building the World from the ground up. Truly Epic... We miss you Monty.
So glad you guys have made it through Volume 6. Indomitable still is a kick in the chest to me. When you get ready to do V7 & V8 OSTs, I was the one that Jeff had make lyric videos for V7 and V8.. you can find the playlists on our channel. Feel free to use them and if you have any questions just give a shout 😊❤🤍🖤💛 ~Bruce
"I believe the human spirit is indomitable. If you endeavor to achieve, it will happen given enough resolve. It may not be immediate and often your greater dream is something you will not achieve within your own lifetime. The effort you put forth to anything transcends itself, for there is no futility even in death" Monty Oum
Fun little thing that's not really directly related to Nevermore, but still kinda a neat little coincidence. Beauty and the Beast, the live action version not the animated version, actually has a song in it titled "Evermore" which I find to, as I said, be a very neat little coincidence.
The craziest part about Casey Lee Williams who does most of the singing is that she was 13 when the first trailer premiered and her first time singing for the series.
One of my favorite bars in this vols soundtrack is "Were praying for a miracle but now we'll stand and fight." Like if only more people in real life could adopt this mindset instead of just praying and waiting to see if things will change. Like yeah you can pray for something but you can also stand up and actively do your part to achieve it
I freely admit to crying the first time I heard "Indomitable". A lot of people in the RWBY community was hit hard with his passing, and losing a person that has a creative spark that inspired people made me think about how time is short and that he would want us to "Keep Moving Forward". That's a overall theme of the series aside from a story about color.
Arhh unfortunately the Forever Fall you listened to was the episode version cut right out. (explains the dialogue left in) And like everyone else said: Indomitable was about Monty Oum's influence. But, excited to see Volume 7! Hope you're prepared!
It's pretty easy to see that the Volume 6 OST is the fan favorite of many in the RWBYVERSE!! Me included...... But, my favorite single will always be 'Indomitable'!!! The last of three tributes to Monty Oum, it came as the apex of chapter 13 as Ruby summoned the power of her silver eyes!!! It was beyond moving and the song will never stop bringing tears to all RWBY fans.....😢 Monty left us a gift of his creativity and his beliefs in this series. And I hope you agree, we owe him our deepest thanks. Just one request for everyone.... So many incredible content creators made amazing AMV's from these great songs, especially 'Nevermore', 'Indomitable', and 'One Thing'. Look them up!! They helped entertain us in-between Volumes. So, let's see what volume 7 will bring. Til then, stay golden & "Keep moving forward..." 🥲🌹❄️🔥🖤
I love Lionized as a character theme for Adam. It starts with him passively gaining recognition and adulation as he watches the weaker and less proactive faunus fall whilst he takes up the fight for a noble cause. He is lionized by merit of his actions which, at the moment, aren't necessarily harmful. However, they also do nothing to actively help the position of the faunus as, unfortunately, his and Sienna's "violence where necessary" philosophy make the more bigoted humans feel justified in their thoughts and actions, and make the humans who were supportive of the Fang before slowly drawing back in fear that they'll be given flak for supporting murderers. Then the second verse is a representation of his more recent ideology. An ideology warped by too much positive reinforcement, among several other things. His way of doing things is now actively harmful to both humans and faunus. He's not just watching people on both sides fall as he himself is raised up by those around him, but actively destroying them, because at this point he's been more or less conditioned that "the more I hurt and kill people, the more I am validated, praised, etc." Honestly, for all the misgivings I have over how his character was handled, as always, the song for the character is amazing. Doesn't make the problems go away, but it helps to lessen the blow. I can definitely say that I would be more upset with Adam's character if the song didn't exist. Because there was a period of time that it didn't, and boy was I pissed that somehow the writers felt like they were worse at writing an abusive and obsessive stalker ex than they were at an edgy and cool revolutionary that became a bigger monster than the ones he thought he was fighting. The song exists now though, so I've largely moved past that anger. The feeling is more... "This Character Writing Is Comedically Cringeworthy" rather than "This Pisses Me Off."😂
The funny thing is that the old lady they fight in the mech actually isn’t a bad person, just a little ignorant at times. She’s based on the Lady in the Shoe and she stomped around Owning it. 😂😂😂😂😂
I don’t know whose playlist you are using, but they had the incorrect version of Forever Fall on it. I try to send you accurate versions of each OST playlist halfway through every volume on YT, and you can see them on my channel. You’re welcome to use them, so a snafu like this doesn’t happen again, the songs are too much of an enhancement to the series to get the wrong version. They’ve all been vetted for accuracy.
Kind of disappointed you listened to the wrong version of Forever Fall, I was looking forward to seeing your reaction to that one. Was still fun watching this, but yeah...
People always overlook the first oart of Lionize like actually why is no one talking about the fact thatbhe was tortured by humans as a child is that not messed up No parents, no friends, only rage, spite and tons and tons of angst.
If I have a dollar for every time I see a character whose name is Adam, is a jackass but has a good guitar solo song. I would have 2$, which is not a lot but it's weird that there are 2 of them.
Im not gonna get over how Adam's song is so much cooler than what he deserves. Still a hardcore listen when it comes up but man the guy its connected to aint anything close to as HIM as his song makes it out to be.
They definitely at least used to read the comments, I don't know if they still do as much. But hopefully with how many people commented about it they'll at least notice it. I think that's how we got the video on the Adam short so..."
We read the comments, but also RWBY had a lot of people spoiling things so haven't been as good about getting to those comments or responding. Had some good recommendations to rewatch indomitable knowing it's about Monty now and the full version of Forever Fall in one vid 🤗
I'm legitimately angry about the bunglings that happened in this video, between the clipped recording of Foreverfall, to not recognizing Monty, and therefore missing the ENTIRE POINT of one of RWBY's most meaningful songs. Utterly put off at them reacting to Indomitable while clearly having no idea what it's really about. Feels so fake, such a "nod your head and hum politely" reaction.
