Our loss to Japan was the first sign of sickness in our team. Then our victory in the quarter finals showed the boks are back. The japenese were the first step to bringing back the boks

It was a wake up call, you recovered brilliantly to give NZ their hardest game of the tournament in the semis and nearly won, and well we saw what happened in the rematch, ruthless efficiency.

Japan drew with Canada twice. It's more rivalry than 1 win 1 loss.

I don't think two games can be given such status, what we are looking for is the constant competitive games between the two and the magnitude of the game speaks volume... Yes they are both World Cup matches but the level of Rewards between the two are vast

Its kinda disrespectful to SA to say that Japan is their rivals. No one in SA considers Japan our rivals. One win against SA does not make a rivalry. Same with Eng and NZ, they are not rivals, Eng has one win against them.

World Rugby has no idea what rivalry means, last video was Fiji vs Wales a 1 win to 10 result, now a two match history. I think RWC upsets is more accurate.

I must give it to Japan that they played a great game in 2015 and really showed up and even in 2019 they played a great game against Ireland and in my opinion had a overall great RWC campaign

For Japan to make further progress they need to do what Argentina did and join one of the annual tournaments, either the six nations or the Championship were they’ll play the big teams on a regular basis.
