@@audiwankenobi361 hahaha ok. Most Audi enthusiasts will disagree with you. Not really a small detail to most of us. In German engineering it's all about the details.
@@mrtyreus0 owned a 99.5 and 01 A4...currently own a 08 Passat VR6 4Motion Wagon and a 2016 Golf Sportwagen FWD....I do work on all my vehicles...i do not autocross...thats why the drivetrian layout doesn't matter to me but the Longitudinal layout is easier to work on to me.
Rebuilding my b5 quattro tdi...donor car is absolutely essential doing the rebuild...my daily is a 110 bhp tdi avant nearly 12 yrs..great cars...starting to get scarce now especially quattro models
Man all the money I've spent on my B5 s4, ecs should sponsor me lmao. I just installed that rear diffential mount and look forward to seeing the difference. Car is currently apart and in need of new front spindles 😞. B5 life lol.
@@domhammer1289 Ha! Noooo! No it wasn't.... I didn't weld the center diff correctly and destroyed 2 different transmissions in a months time period.... Lots of blood sweat and tears.... And lots of money used.
@@audiwankenobi361 oh noo.... Did you not grind down the access weld that protruded from the center diff or did it brake?? I've never had a problem like that...
@@audiwankenobi361 but I know exactly how it is with blood sweat and tears, and lots of money lol, doing the andy drift build isn't cheap at all I'm half way through right now. I'm getting a video put up of the progress tomorrow
@@domhammer1289 the welds just broke.... The first time I didn't clean the center diff good enough before welding which caused the diff weld to break apart and circulate through the transmissions. The 2nd time I cleaned better, thought i welded better but the center diff froze or something and literally blew apart the center diff housing....was out of money to do anything else at that point.
I still got a few parts from my B5 A4 that someone might find useful: 3.89 rear diff -25$s 2 front outer CV axle hub cups-10$s ECS Tuning snubmount with cage-20$s And a few other small parts and pieces.
Uh my second car back in the day was a b5 1.8l 20V turbo 4wd With gt28rs turbo and Vems engine management system. It was thought to be 265hp+ or so. Never measured it though... Was a fast car.. Also as it was fast and furious kind of times it had a bodykit, custom hood custom fenders , mad sound system, lights gauges in a pillar. Repainted in Dodge viper blue metallic. Cool back then , now i would probably not want to own such a loud outrageous tuning car.
Very cool. I got a 99 A4 auto project car that needs a torque converter. Anyone out there that has done a manual conversion and still has a good torque converter? I'm looking to save money vs buying a new one.
Well the center diff, cup the front hubs, and weld the rear diff. And technically you don't even have to weld the rear diff. Check out our channel for more behind the scenes on the rear wheel drive Audi!
So did you do it on purpose. Video says how to convert to rwd and maybe I missed it do u drop front drive shaft and transfer case remove and longer drive shaft I thought this was the video I was going to see is it comment bait lol
I want to hear that Turbo Spool. This is some awesome inspiration and motivation for my B5 Wagon Build i started a few months ago. Follow on Instagram at b5_dadwagon
