I was at the AZ show, all the people I invited never have had heard them before. They were blown away by the amount of effort they put into a show and will never look at other bands the same now.

I went to high school with the interviewer --- i'm extremely jealous that he met this band (One of my favorites from high school). The interviewer is a smart kid; I'm surprised- he didn't seem prepared to ask better questions or looked up Rx's history.

That interviewer made it awkward. Felt unprepared, I'm sure he thought those questions sounded good in his head. But he couldn't even ask the question right. Like, "how does creativity factor into operating a record label?"

The interviewer is thoughtful, conversational, and natural. RX Bandits are one of the best bands ever but can be pretty awkward in person/interviews (especially Matt).

So interview the band after they play. I'd watch that. This guy interrupting their flow with his inane questions was painful to watch. The band was trying to stay in their groove and play music.

@@SandalwoodBros umm that's not how they do it at Audio Tree they knew the format and Matt Embree didn't need to be such a passive aggressive jerk. To me it seems like he was masking his own nerves/anxiety.

@@JosephMBoyer for sure they are dumb but I think after doing this how ever many times a week/month/years he’s probably run out of quotations to ask. That’s the format of the show well he has to ask. But yeah they were shit.

And the battle begun is one of my favorite albums. I love Shakey Graves also

I actually told that story to Matt (the lead singer) once when I saw them play in the streets of downtown New Orleans.. told him how driving back home 16 hours wet after only seeing them play was miserable..

theres soo much intricate n flat out gnarly grooves jammed into every single song of theirs, its hard to try to keep on it.. lol like knowing all the songs by heart, all the chords all the fills, all the killer parts, i still would have a hard time choosing which parts of what songs to focus on whicj instrument... lol if that makes sense haaa.. i know cgaks got a killer roll comin up, but im still groovin to joe just taking that bass for a loong walk lol

I agree. The bass in RX deserves way more spotlight.

i went to that show too!! lol there was nooo way i was missing that, they KILLEDDD ITT! banger after banger after banger man. lol im checkin RU-vid, still waiting for them to post the live recording of that full show i was hoping and expecting them to do... but its still not real.... (yet) lol i still have hope they recorded it for like a farewell dvd.

dab devil hell yeah every second was amazing!! I've been watching all the phone footage people have posted trying to relive that night, I hope they play another show. That can't be their farewell!!

I love both eras of Rx - it's not often you can watch a band change their sound and they still kill it. How can you write ska music your whole career? I love ska but you grow up and mature and so does your music

That's like saying "you were way cooler in high school" to someone who now owns their own company, has a family and a university degree. Sure, you might have thought they were cooler in high school but they grew up and moved on. Seems like you're mentality is still in highschool in this simile.

bands, like people, should never go backwards because a small minority says they were cooler back then. Now, if they decided to smoke meth and slap old ladies, then yeah maybe they should get back a little bit... but trying to stifle creativity just because it's not your cup of tea is a disservice to both the band and the creative process they go through.

I feel completely opposite.. I was expecting ska, and what theyve become is so much better than they ever were.. I am a renewed fan
