There is a plastic barb under the blower motor that holds the carpet in place. You have to lift the carpet over it to slide it out. But to access the barb you have to push in the heater core lines from the engine bay and remove the blower motor unit or lift it enough to Pull the carpet out.
Thanks for the amazing video, helped tons on my interior work (which I hate doing!). Question about your rearview mirror though. Mine has fallen out and broken out of its panel, and I need to replace it, is that a universal one with a clamp or car specific replacement?
Good content. Picking up a fc rx7 from a junk yard later this week to restore. Its in a junk yard in the middle of no where and i felt like i found gold when i seen it. Got it for 300$ and there is no rust that is visiable. Ill find out if there is any underneath when i get it. Going to restore it.
For that video I’m waiting for my car to return from the paint shop but for a quick run down on it you’ll want a really big tub of very hot water, 6 or so bottles of rit dye, a week of soaking and stir it here and there. Or buy brand new carpet from rock auto haha
Good point! Thankfully those are pretty easy to remove. 4 bolts on the arm rest, some screws along the edge of the bottom and a couple screws at the inner door handle 🤙🤙
