I m proud to have tried this porridge before, eveb bef watching this ep. I will agree that if I am near the area I will prob walk there or find my way there. But to travel for a porridge that is this pricey... pls I hope if there is a new crowd becuz of this ep the price won't be up. Sg food is alr getting exp enough... They r usually very pack alr too. So yes they don't tired marketing.
I like Jaylene too. Not bimbo; can balance between the boss voice (Ryan) and the comic relief (Ben). She can carry weight of banter too. But I wish she was more vocal. If not it’s always a convo between Ben and Ryan.
Having eaten this stall for more than 10 years. I would like to give credit for the you tiao as it is actually sourced exactly opposite of SinHeng Kee. I myself have Q-ed for it (about an hour) and I dare to say it is the best in SG.

My mum is hakka and we've been eating lei cha since young! My grandma and aunt used to make it from scratch, as you said, it's literally one whole day of work haha. The way my mum taught us was to pour the whole bowl of paste into the vegetable bowl and eat it like a pao fan.

just a suggestion! Maybe you guys can learn how to hold the chopsticks properly. It will help you guys to do much better and beautiful B-rolls :) Love the chemistry on screen!
alot do not know, that last porridge place used to be a small store opposite the kopitiam. somehow it got famous for it due to it being affordable and decent taste. Then because of franchising and investor pumping up, the prices went up so much that it is not even worth it for the price anymore. and i believe they will continue to increase further. They also opened a few more outlets elsewhere which the standard isnt as good as this main store, but u will see that tons of ppl are still buying but none of it are the elderly folks for economical reasons. taste can be 4/5 but it will never be 5/5 anymore due to the increasing price

I strongly recommend the pig trotter at eunos bak kut teh.. It's super near at the Sin Kee Porridge there.. Actually so many influencers have been advertising Sin Kee so many times but none want to feature the pig trotter which is so nearby. I swear you would not be disappointed on the food quality & the pricing!
This hougang branch standard is different from the one at yishun? Because i feel that the one at yishun doesnt give the wow vibe like u guys gave in the video.
Oh if Ryan likes lei cha I would suggest either the one in Alexender food village or Toa Payoh West hawker. Then Herbal soup wise Ah Er in ABC Normal porridge wise then Soh Kee Cooked Food $2.50 chicken porridge lol
I used to love turtle soup .but This not turtle soup is tortoise soup .🐢 I ate this soup before.i saw the legs of tortoise.from now I don eat this soup . causes in pass,I used to have baby tortoise as my beloved pets 🐢🐢. bring them up big n released them free at botanic garden ponds.😰🐢🐢

It’s ex because the longevity of veg is low, can’t be frozen or kept for long and easily contaminated so in the end, the “expensiveness” goes to tons of wastage, additionally, it’s used to garnish, and often ppl leave the garnish alone, leading to more wastage 🥲
omggg can guarantee sin heng kee (i didnt even know the name i alw call it the hougang porridge cause its damn good) ive been eating it for 16 years alr the pidan porridge with meatball is damn good then you order the you tiao from opposite 🥹
