Ref and pretty much everyone had money on Haney that’s why he didn’t count those so called slips as knock downs and that’s why one of the judges had it 112-112.
This was definitely a knock out. No way those were slips. Haneys legs couldn't go anymore and should of got points deducted from all that hugging. This ain't the first time this referee was protecting a black fighter from losing to a white fighter.
Nah you had to deduct a point there cause haney was already very hurt and ryan threw a flush illegal shot on the break. Cant let that slide. Haney coulda got knocked out or dropped from that shot from how bad his legs were at that point.
@@Mike-hy8cs He should have been given a warning. Which is what normally happens in those situations. If he was that badly hurt.. then he should have stopped the fight.
@rzn2258 No because you gotta give the fighter a chance to come back in the fight. Especially in a championship fight. Especially since ryan kept smothering his own shots and over shooting. He got too aggressive and couldnt get the finish. It also allowed haney to hold cause ryan shouldnt have been ontop of him he coulda sat back and let haney fall into him or set up more shots off it. Crawford is the best at this. With that being said its up to the ref ultimately but there was a lot of horseplay going on prior to this round which probably made the ref tired of the nonsense. And like i said if haney was already badly hurt and trying to recover and the ref says break you cant punch the guy on the break. That was frustration out of ryan. The point deduction was fine thats not on the ref thats on ryan.
no he didnt and he cant, once they hit the ground there is already a count down from the judges on the floor and they yell the number once the ref starts counting
Good! I mostly watch mma but they give way too many warnings for fence grabs and shots thrown while the ref is intervening. They already go through the rules in the locker rooms, there should be no warnings.
Priceless comedic timing when Bill Haney was being interviewed on commentary just as Devin got knocked down “he started out strong… he started out strong…” *KNOCKDOWN*
I have seen this fight for 50 times already. I won’t get tired of it. Now I am a fan of Ryan Garcia. I can watch another 50 times again. I like how he dismantled Devin Haney.
He likes protecting black fighters from losing to white fighters. It's also been said that he bet his whole house on Haney so clhe could not let Ryan win.
Wow I didn’t even see how bad this was in the highlights those were basically two more knockdowns they didn’t count and the ref definitely should of stoped it Haney was holding on for deer life
Haney was basically going for a takedown with bad form and Ryan pushed his head down that’s why that one didn’t count as a knock down. I’m glad Ryan won, and I agree it shouldn’t have been a draw by that one judge, but keep it real. That one that wasn’t counted was no knockdown
Garcia was fighting to men in the ring that night no doubt about it. I am surprised the Ref did not give Haney a commercial break after every time he was dropped. And the point deduction was as about as ridiculous as can be. Why did he not penalize Haney for excessive holding.
The Ref who overseen the Rolly and Pitbull fight should’ve been the one who oversaw this fight, that dude didn’t tolerate shit, he did everything by the book. He was the best referee I ever seen in a boxing ring. If you want to see what I’m talking about, go back and rewatch the Rolly and Pitbull fight. Real talk, if that same Ref was in the Ring for this fight, the fight would’ve been over possibly after the second knock down. Who ever that Ref was for the Rolly and Pitbull fight should be in every main card fight moving forward.
I will say this. Ryan was pretty dumb for hitting Haney on the break but idk why the ref didn’t point Haney for over 20 clinches after warning him about clinching
