I saw the Oscars when it aired live, and I just could not stop smiling and laughing. He may not have won an Oscar that night, but he won the Oscars!! Also, Ryan and Emma Stone were in the musical movie La La Land together and are very good friends, so yes, I am sure she knew all the words! She got so worked up during that performance, she busted the back of her dress during it, and then had to go on stage to accept her Oscar afraid that everyone would see her dress undone in the back!
this oscar performance is the greatest ever in many people's opinion and ryan apparently was the brains behind the whole thing. he was referencing marilyn monroes iconic Diamondfs ar a girls best friend from gentelmen prefer blondes. they had 2 days to rehearse. Ryan was an original mickey mouse club performer and can do it ll. . he wasn;t much on my radar until this, but looking into him he is one of the finest actors today and one of the nicest people. he got the santa barbara film festival kirk douglas award last year and you should watch first steve carrel's speech about ryan, then greta gerwig, then ryans. class acts all of them. also you might look at his hosting of his recent saturday night live fantastic.. glad to see you back and hope you are successful, you were one of my favorites in the ptx days and now i hop you will be in the Ren days, my obsession and i mean obssession for over a year. . when you have watched over a thousands reactions to Hi Ren and still aren't bored and don't fast forward -you are obsessed.
The Oscars is all Ryan where the movie scene is all Ken. There is another video of these movie scenes with some behind the scenes shots mixed in. Really funny. Wolf Van Halen did the guitar you heard in the movie beach fight scene but Slash played through the whole song. There is a great video from Mark Ronson about how he built the whole 11 minute song including Kennergy. It was so interesting to see his process. Great reaction.
I think Ryan knows his purpose is just to make the world smile, & he always has 😊 I love RDJ, & he deserves an Oscar (more so for Iron Man or other roles in my opinion), but Ryan shoulda had it this night. Ken is the role of a lifetime for him, & more memorable in my opinion.
I remember RDJ saying something like "It was his turn" when Ledger won the Oscar for Batman over RDJ in Chaplin. Robert always knew his turn would come, and apparently it was now. One day it will be Ryan's turn.
Yes it’s different between the movie and the video. I see this performance as all Ken. The Oscars was all Ryan Gosling. That guitar shred was Wolfgang Van Halen. Eddie Van Halen’s son. The rest of the guitar was Slash who you saw at the Oscars. They were both there that night.
