This is why fighters turn down Ryan Hall, nobody wants their knee ripped off because they know there’s a very high possibility it could happen. And if he doesn’t get that leg he’s going to get something else. Absolute beast

@RightWingCon81 I'm pretty short @ 5'8/stocky build. I have short legs and arms but I really like leglocks and find them to be pretty high percentage for me. One thing to consider is that different leg lacings/positions work better/differently for different leg locks. Also, you should practice your leglock entries and pinching your knees/getting in deep enough on the leg a lot. Once you're good at maintaining position there, working your preferred finish is easy.

whats the diference between heel hook and toe hold? if someone can explain me plz, not in the way u do it but in the effects or the articulations it attacks

marsnall with a heel hook, you use the leg entanglement to immobilize the femur from the hip to the knee, and you use the heel to twist the bottom of the leg attacking the ligaments in the knee. The toehold is a twisting ankle lock, bending the foot down and toward the shin attacking the small bones, ligaments, and tendons in the foot and ankle.

like i said. if it's perfectly legal use it. but if not take proper caution. 1st of all i think a knee bar is the no.1 in literally having no threshold of pain till you just hear a snap. yeah i have seen ryan hall pop a lot of knees out. but that's simply because most of them refuse to tap or are are ignorant of the gravity of the move. but i think most of them just simply do not respect his heel hook since it seems so unorthodox.

This submission isn't legal full stop in IBJJF haha. As for the knee reaping, you can have your knee across their body provided you don't overwrap the reaped knee. You can underhook it that's fine

+Dusty Pinner That's why he talks about not crossing it over their hip until you're already finishing the submission. If you cross it first and then go to finish then yeah, it's more risky. But if you go for the finish first and then cross it, it's not that risky.

wtF. he is just stating that the move works and has consequences if the guy doesn't tap. it's just like an armbar the goal is to break someone's arm. but it's definitely not the type of move you would like to use in practice because it's injury prone. but in matches where it is perfectly legal. use it. if they guy doesn't tap than that's his fault.
