I still remember living in Nicaragua at the time and my friend bought the leaked version off the street. I remember watching it on a laptop and thinking it was the worst movie I had ever seen. 🎥 😂
We as a public are so fucking lucky Ryan Reynolds is so extremely dedicated to the Deadpool character. That's the only reason we now have 2 beautiful Deadpool movies.
I wouldn't be so sure new DP films are coming in such large numbers. Rumour is that there will be movies about X-Force, but Ryan Reynolds has said on multiple occasions he doesn't know if DP3 will come any time soon. He is very adamant in that the story has to be absolutely solid. Deadpool is a character driven story. They won't "just" do a movie about Deadpool kicking ass and breaking the 4th wall. There has to be a solid story and part of that is that Deadpool has to be at a low point (his words, not mine). That's why they killed off Vanessa early in DP2, because that broke him and caused the plot to move forward. If Reynolds doesn't think this kind of story is possible for DP3, it's gonna be tough.
I didn't know Deadpool when I saw X-men Origins so I didn't get why everybody was so angry. Now that I know Deadpool I would have gone bananas with that version. This also makes me very, very, very happy with the end credit scene from Deadpool 2! Go watch it! That movie was so much fun.
for some reason, when I originally saw the movie, I thought it could have been easily fixed and said that the "Deadpool" at the end wasn't Wade Wilson at all, but a clone that was a mashup of all the mutants they had used at that point. see? problem solved! lol
Victoria Em yeah, a movie with people that have metal blades on their arms or hand, have a diamond body, or shoot a laser beam (ik its not a a laser) but yeah realism.
@@shanekc3502 he may not be a better actor but his natural personality (at least as he's exhibited via TV) is perfectly in line with Deadpool. In a way he doesn't even need to act for that part, so honestly, he just straight up IS deadpool.
This is a true story. I talked to the actor who played Cyclops one time and he said the same thing, that they were just making the script up as they went???
@@IceSkateUpHilll ah yeah, I follow him on insta. wanna guess how many projects he did after Origins, none. his next project was in 2012 [no disrespect to the guy]. just goes to show that sometimes you're first movie doesn't grant you greater opportunities.
If they just had him play wade while he's still normal then made him disappear somewhere (maybe he went off to get some chimichangas) and then just call the "thing" at the end weapon 11 I think it would have been acceptable
@@Tribrid-zv3nq that thing is still supposed to be deadpool. hugh refers to him as wade. they def could have switched it and just had hugh fight that abomination without reference to wade
Reynolds is just PURE class. He always seems to recall all the stunt people names..always. He gives credit to everyone he seems to work with. Hollywood should just clone/replicate Ryan. He is just such a gentleman and witty as hell. Bravo!!
I sort of wanted to see the Deadpool that they created at the end of X-Men: Origins. I didn't care for how they revamped it at all in the Deadpool movies! 😤
I loved x men Origins, and I liked how Stryker closed his mouth to shut him up, and as weapon x with a little of all their powers! It was fine for a cameo.
You, sir, have the power of foresight 😄 Please ask him to bring Wolverine back again for Deadpoool and Wolverine 2, and to include Blake Lively as Lady Deadpool. Ask for some more Deadppool variants. Maybe even Wolverine variants, and even some ninjas!!!
I remember I was disappointed that he didnt let Scott Aadszz (Adkins) do the stunts for him in the later deadpool movies too. Nice that he gives him a shout out here though.
Scott Adkins is too buff to be Deadpool it would’ve looked too obvious that it was a stunt double if Scott wore the suit . Besides, Scott is a much bigger actor now and I don’t think he does stunt doubles for anyone anymore.
I actually like X-Men Origins, but I think of Weapon 11 as a totally different character than the Deadpool from the later films. I personally don't think it's even that big of an issue. I mean, it's kind of similar in the comics: Deadpool in the older comics is kind of a different character than what he became in the 1990s.
What he became in the 1990s? That’s when he was created. He just changed character from his first appearances to his later ones, especially once he got his own series.
As a kid (who didnt yet know about deadpool) I always thought Origins Deadpool was kinda cool - I liked the idea of the science project who was a conjunction of different iconic superheroes at that point and thought giving him Cyclops eye beams was a good way of showing what all these mutants were being held for. HOWEVER, it was not Deadpool, it should have been its own character and it was a really bad bastardisation to the point years later when I had exposure to OG Deadpool i didn't even recognise it was meant to be the same character
"You know what would be really cool, besides this 8-ball I just snorted" - Blurting that joke out like it was nothing is why this man isn't playing Wade Wilson, he IS Wade Wilson.
So Wade wilson played by Ryan Reynolds earlier in the movie, The Same Guy that walked in a room full of bullets and deflected them all with just swords is the same deadpool at the end of the movie with his mouth sewn shut???
Honestly, I get why they sewed his mouth shut. It was done as a payoff to the running joke of everyone wanting him to shut up (Stryker especially). That much makes sense and it is easily fixed to where he could have a mouth again, but the extra powers that aren't a part of his character was going too far. His only power was a healing factor that was granted to him by the project. He was also able to teleport via a special belt, but that wasn't a power of his. The optic blasts and the Baraka blades we're going too far, for sure. They would have had to translate those into the Deadpool stand-alone film and that wouldn't have grooved. It's a shame they dropped the ball, but that's what happens when you have the wrong visionaries working on a film.
DrummermanMatt I'm fine with the extra powers but deadpools best ability is his wit and the fact he could probably talk someone to death so sowing his mouth shut was destroying one of the most integral parts of the character and as payoff to a joke it was a shot joke with shit payoff
It might've been a little funny to see wade *still trying to talk* with his mouth sewn shut(and then translate the muffled voice in the subtitles) and still pissing everyone off and in the after credits scene he finally gets the stitches off and just goes crazy and starts breaking the fourth wall.
it almost seemed like in origins he became the brunt of either a really lousy joke at his/deadpool's expense, and/or it was a deliberate "screw you, here's what we think of this character you won't shut up about" decision the studio forced on him. if that was the case then i would imagine he was a lot more frustrated about it than he lets on
when i saw origins i didnt know who the deadpool character was. so i was quite confused when some people yelled "wtf" and walked out of the theatre when they saw his mouth was sewn shut. being older, i fully understand and i honestly woulda done teh same. butchering a character like that takes more effort than letting them be who they're supposed to be
Hollywood executives always do this stuff. Rings of power, the last Jedi, the Witcher and many others treat established characters as jumping off points and are amazed when people don’t like it.
God, I love Ryan Reynolds. I love his personality and hear in him talk and he is perfect for Deadpool!! That’s pretty low for Fox to blackmail Ryan into doing X-Men Origins, though. Thank you, Ryan, for giving us Deadpool in 2016, and as a result, giving us the proper version of the character!
I see nothing wrong with the character he and Scott Adkins played in Origins. That character's name isnt even Deadpool, its Weapon XI. It clearly was supposed to be a unique character
I actually like Origins and Green Lantern because the first half of both movies are really good but the 2nd half are such a dramatic drop off in quality I can see why people don't like them. I've never seen 2 movies have such variation in quality.
This is why I don't understand Hollywood, They have all the source material that made the comics iconic and then they get rid of it all and ruin it, thats why we love the NEW MCU they used the source.
As someone that didn’t know anything about Deadpool before the movies, it’s wild to look back and see how royally the fckkked up the first Deadpool. Not only is it not good, but it’s just illogical
He was a mix of Wolverine, Nightcrawler and Cyclops with Deadpool as the main body. I thought it was a cool concept but it definitely shouldn't have been called Deadpool. Lol.
In all fairness, I don't think the mainstream at this point really knew who deadpool was. I definitely didn't. So I could see how they thought this would be okay. But now a days, deadpool is totally my favorite "super hero" movie dude.
He was born to play Deadpool nobody else could replace him. Like In all seriousness even off the movie he still acts like wade Wilson he should legally change his name lol
Just as Mark Hamill learned the Hollywood Sith are more powerful than any Jedi, Ryan Reynolds learned the suits can make Deadpool jump when they say jump.
He wasn't forced, but it was kind of like a Sword of Damocles in that you be in the movie and you will be allowed to make your Deadpool movie later on.
That's why they put forced in quote marks because he was forced in the sense that if he didn't follow through with what they wanted he wouldn't be able to play Deadpool later
I laugh thinkin of a quote from the director from the behind the scenes he was talking about how some people are saying this was not an accurate deadpool but hoped fans would think its a cooler version. he was definitely talking about ryan Reynolds lol and he was defiantly wrong
I still remember being super pissed off at how they handled Gambit and Wade. What a mess. The only saving grace was that beginning part and the chemistry between Jackman and Schreiber.
