Strange there's a non-answer there. I mean.. the powers that be must've realized this question was being brought up. My theory? They're waiting to see how the reception is for Deadpool and Wolverine + BO numbers.
To be perfectly candid, Depp was both drunk and high for a lot of that I am sure. Given what he was going through with Amber at the time. The outtakes and bloopers seem to show him behaving a bit drunk or high. Then again, maybe he is just that good.
The fact that Hugh even said “we’re going back for more after this” and they both said “yeah”! Got me excited and should have every MCU fan excited for what’s to come after this movie!!
I really hope they just end it here. The current MCU is only going to drag their characters down, rather than enhance them. This movie I think will work because it will for the most part stand on its own feet. The MCU has none of the good characters left. You got discount Iron Man with Iron Heart, discount Hawkeye with Bishop, discount Black Widow with her sister, discount Black Panther with his sister, Spider-Man has reverted back to Sony (they will figure out a deal, but it is going to be hard generating revenue with how expensive it is bound to be), Wanda is the most evil character that has been in the MCU as of yet so her just being forgiven will be contrived as heck, Captain Marvel being so OP that they have to make up silly excuses in order to make her work. There is no way Captain Marvel has any trouble if someone like Bishop has any value in the fight at all. It is a mess. If they rebooted the whole thing after a minimum of 5 years away from the silver screen, they could make it work again.
@@lawlietriver8869 lol.theres 2 more sagas after this one the mutant one being next so got at least 15 more yrs to go or more if theres another writers strike or god forbid another pandemic.
It really seems like the energy that Ryan, Shawn, and Hugh are bringing to just the advertisement alone makes it feel like this isn’t going to be a regular Cash grab. They have evidently put their heart and soul into trying to create the best story they can, which is really at the end of the day, all a fan could want
Deadpool went from being an unproducable R-rated superhero film no studio in their right mind would put their name on to being the only film on the 2024 slate of the undisputed biggest movie franchise in history. It is hard to imagine that could possibly have happened without Ryan Reynolds, writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, directors Tim Miller, David Leitch and Shawn Levy. That is the difference that passion makes.
This is not the biggest movie in the history of ever. Mcu might still be in trouble with no plan going forward. 20 years of McU movies migjt of been enough
@@timebandit1266 I didn't say it was, but if you're denying that the MCU is the biggest film franchise you are just wrong. Measurably, it's been financially dominant, but even the less tangible things like cultural impact seem pretty clearly massive. It's had a huge impact on the wider industry, not just in setting the "cinematic universe" trend but also in a lot of technological advancements. You can say you don't like the films, but the fact remains it is the world's biggest movie franchise.
Jackman is the legend. Has played Logan nearly a quarter century yet has comeback and is holding on just enough to see his version interacting with other marvel characters not x men
@@ouroborostechnologies696 Not gonna do this with you. I understand that you're trolling, but I'm honestly not in the mood. Instead, I'll just say I hope you have a good day. ✌
These movie tours must be exhausting. Retelling stories and answering the same question over and over, but as if it's the first time they're sharing it. There's always something new they share, and the stories never get old. Thank you for being such troopers, you 3!!
It's kind of fun when they share something new - like an extra detail to the repeated story they hadn't shared before. The other 2 light up, like - oh! I didn't know that! The chemistry of this trio is intoxicating, lol. In a good way!
Title change request for this video to: Three Dad's on convincing Marvel to make Deadpool and Wolverine. The love that these guys have for each other genuinely brought tears to my eyes - that never happens! This movie is going to be the bomb! Already booked IMAX tickets for me and my bro :)
It’s crazy how people as big as Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman still struggled to get this through. Imagine the no names who never get the chance and might’ve ended up doing amazing jobs directing new stories and characters. It really sucks
It's crazy. Even making successful/profitable movies doesn't get you anywhere sometimes. Like, pixar fired a bunch of people right before their project inside out 2 came out and broke tons of records
Exactly, this is the problem with Hollywood- we need more fresh ideas from new talented folks and actors that sadly will never get the chance to even get their big break, because they're too scared to try something new. Pixar is a good example: People have always loved Pixar movies (with their groundbreaking content and animation) and Disney screwed them over for several years now by putting them to the side and then firing people left and right. Now a theatrically released Pixar movie is the highest grossing movie of the year!
@@johngurwitz5203 just cost cutting efficiency language. Usual corporate verbiage. It was so sad looking on twitter at all the fired animators posting about the scenes that they had created for previous films
I saw it today. I am so jealous of people who haven’t seen it yet. It is so good. I haven’t been excited for a movie in a long time and this movie over-delivered, if that’s possible.
These guys show so much love and respect for one another, like listening to each others vision. I think this understanding and friendship amongst them will make this movie something special.
I was against the fence with this movie but when they released the Sabertooth teaser I was sold! To go to those lengths and get the original actor to play that role again shows how much love they have for this. I agree with a lot of the comments on here, this has reached No Way Home/borderline Avengers hype and it’s gonna be glorious to be among other fans on the 25th!!!!
Personally the best interview , I have seen , perfectly letting the chemistry of three incredible people explain the truth behing the Deadpool world for the them. Plus, Shawn leavy a brilliant director , seeing the collaborative work he does with Ryan + Hugh truly inspiring.
Maaaan this just gets my hyped even more. Just hearing their energy and how they are just as excited about not just bringing a movie, but excited to bring a close to perfect project to life and the fact that they are as hyped as a fans, just lets me know they put as special care in it as they can. I cannot wait to watch this in theaters.
The way they talk about this movie you just know it will be good, so many of the recent mcu movies just don’t feel like real movies like ai generated suoerhero movies while this feels like real human love was put into it
@@brian7443 idk i love that movie it was so fun to watch in theaters with everyone screaming but when you watch it at home it really falls apart and so many dumb plot holes especially with dr strange. But when you have 3 spidermen you can’t go wrong
@@takerhulk3163That was the single biggest disappointment. Beyond annoying, really. Talk about neutering one of the toughest superheros of our (my) childhood.
Wow This was a Great Interview!!! Ryan Reynolds was Born to play Deadpool and I'm So Happy to see Him Finally coming into The MCU!!! And Hugh Jackman returning as THE Wolverine and Finally wearing The Comic Accurate Costume!!! As a Huge X-Men and Deadpool Fan, This Movie is a Dream Come True for Me!!! I'M SOOOOOO FREAKING HYPED!!!!!! LFG!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Watching all 3 of them enthusiastically talk about this project has me more pumped. You can tell they care so much about the characters and to tell a meaningful story, aswell as satisfy the fans. I'm so glad they took their time on the script and the process and didn't just phone it in and make a deadpool film for the sake of it. So hyped for this. Love these actors and characters.
It’s a rare quality in a film to see the passion from a director, producer and actor/s. I’m not looking forward to seeing the characters but looking forward to seeing what a well written, acted and directed film. There’s always been something special in these dp movies and it’ll be gut wrenching to see how marvel progresses through this film
Wow. Hats off to variety for this interview and how well it was presented. This was seriously great coverage and exposure for the film and makes me even more excited!
@@OG_Agrivar are you sure?? 🫤 I’m really losing sleep and been sad imagine shaw seein this comment and going on rampage, leaving wife and getting elective surgery.. I can’t imagine the pain of bein in the line might. Sniff me
I loved these characters in the comics before any of the movies and these two are the ONLY actors that ever made me feel they’d really BEEN the characters from the books.
14:00 There was even a line in the first film regarding the lack of any of the characters iconic suits. As they are strapping into the jet, Logan says “You actually go outside in these things?”, to which Scott replies “Well what would you prefer? Yellow Spandex?”
The amazing thing about Hugh being now a part of the MCU, is that all of the other actors from X-men are of the right age to be school teachers and mentors at Professor Xavier's school.
Variety needs credit for breaking the mold: …no cheesy host with poorly researched questions and cringe voices. Just the actors and director talking passionately about their work. I’ve seen this in your other interviews as well. As a movie and entertainment fan of 40yrs, thank you! 🍻 🙌
That shared experience Ryan talked about at the end, I have two perfect examples of that. When I went to see Close Encounters of the Third Kind, the scene where the mother ship rises up behind Devil's Tower, my jaw dropped open and I could hear the collective gasp of everyone sitting there. Then, when I saw the first Star Wars (which is what it was called in the late 1970's) even though it was a year after it released, when the Death Star exploded, everyone in the audience cheered and clapped for the Rebel's victory! So I agree with Ryan, that's an experience you can only get at the movie theatre. I am really looking forward to this third installment of Deadpool.
16:55 I’m glad he mentioned tone because when Fox first sold to Disney and all their heroes went over, I was so scared that we would lose the tone that Fox had built and I mean that in multiple context, including theatrical and some character visuals. Because the MCU looks incredible, but I’ve always loved how X-Men had its own sort of visual tone. Now that Deadpool has been able to maintain its own, I’m hoping there’s someway that that future MCU movies with the X-Men will still be able to hold some of the tone that created the live-action X-Men as one of the earliest and precursors of the 2010s superhero boom
You'd imagine around Endgame time, this headline might have been true. But at this point doesn't Marvel need Deadpool more than Deadpool needs Marvel? I think Deadpool 3 is going / was going / will be going to smash records! And right now, Marvel needs a win, because the audience doesn't really care for anything they have done lately. But the audience loves Deadpool / Ryan Reynolds.
These guys are amazing in this industry, can't wait to watch it. I think this is now my favorite interview for a movie. I love how they hyped everyone. Happy to see Hugh back as wolverine, has been waiting since Deadpool 1 for this ❤
Ryan looks tired bruh thank you for your tenacity 🖤❤️. can’t wait for the debut!!! Your guys hard work and sacrifice will have a lasting impression on us all for ever 🖤❤️💙💛
hearing Hugh say that this movie is a gift because of the sheer care and effort put in to each character makes me low key emotional. top 2 for me would be the who scene from end game starting from cap getting the hammer to on your left from falcon coming thru the ring and 1st is the x wing fly by and Luke slaughtering the death troopers on camera for the first time in over 40 years not recognizing the sequel's lmao those scenes i feel were true gifts to us fans
I actually pre-ordered tickets...for a Marvel movie...in theaters. I don't pre-order tickets, I haven't watched the last three Marvel movies, and I HATE going to theaters. That's how excited I am for this movie.
Same. I kinda want my theater to be full when I see it. Nothing has ever beat the audience reaction to Cap holding Mjolnir, but I have a feeling we're gonna get something close
Just re watched Deadpool 1 and 2 last night to prep for going out and watching Deadpool 3 tonight and rewatching it (maybe for the 7th time) there is a consistent level of brilliance, whether a clever joke or a meta comment about Marvel, that occurs perhaps every 10 seconds throughout a 120 minute movie. I'm not sure people appreciate how much talent it takes to make a movie that has zero slow parts and to maintain a consistent level of momentum.
I have a baby that's pretty much stuck to my hip atm, so I can't watch this in the cinema... But I genuinely WANT TO, which is something I haven't felt about a movie in years. This looks awesome.
Wow what a great interview! I’m a fan of Hugh and Ryan’s friendship and now seeing Shawn interact w/ these two…really loving the dynamic between these three guys. And to think Shawn had a part in bringing Deadpool & Wolverine to the big screen AND (on an unrelated MCU note) in getting Donna Martin to graduate lol (Shawn had guest starred in a couple BH 90210 in his early 90s acting days).
@@djsejwal2 I know just these specific characters deadpool and Wolverine wouldn’t be able to go 100% in a pg13 movie like they will be able to in this one
