Ryan White - The Boy Who Educated the World About AIDS 

I remember learning about Ryan when I was a little girl in elementary school. I’m 38 now and I still think of him.

Ryan deserves a lot of credit for dealing with what he dealt with. Specially with the technology back then. Had to deal with his blood disorder, his AIDS, as well as discrimination and attention he never asked for.

This discrimination this kid faced because of fear was incredible. Wow. It's amazing how far aids and hiv research has come today.

I was in my 20s in the 80s and I remember when Ryan white was on the tv and told us about his story of aids. His life and death changed laws and saved lives. Never forgotten Ryan and thank you sir Elton John for your compassion.

Ryan white is a superhero bro who fought against all odds. I would be friends with him. I would hold hands with him if he asked me too!

To a young man who changed the world, who opened our eyes, showed us his beautiful smile and relentless strength….Ryan, you will always be an inspiration and in our hearts. You will never be forgotten, never! I send love to you in Heaven. HAPPY BIRTHDAY BRAVE, BEAUTIFUL SOUL!

The word hero gets thrown around a little to casually these days but in this case it's well deserved. Ryan white was a true HERO. RIP

He was my hero. I found out my dad had HIV and at 14 years old I was confused but Ryan educated me. Ryan thank you We never met but your story got me through my story. I will always remember Goin

Sad to think if he were still alive he'd probably be a husband and a father. Such an unfortunate loss.

Ryan White wss a brave boy who took on alot,and at the time educated us and taught us about a disease we hardly knew anything about ! The way that community treated him ws wrong in more ways then one,and i am glad that he ws able to live out the rest of his life in a community that accepted him and loved him and still do. Ryan sent me a little note after receiving the letter i sent him that said thanks for writing and caring and he sent me an autograph picture too. I also was able to form a special bond with him too ! On the anniversary of his death or soon afterwards i always do a candle light vigil for him,the last couple of times i called out his name and he came and thanked me with a smile on his face. May he continue resting in Gods peace always and when i get to heaven,i know i will see him thre ! ❤💙😇🙏

I wish that they would stop saying that Ryan educated them. He moved them emotionally. He made them aware and started a discussion on important social issues. People throw around education as if it means so many different things. Most weren't at all influence by the data or educated. They found his story compelling. They still didn't understand HIV/AIDS or any other infectious disease much better than they had before learning about him.

What does it mean to inspire others? To lift people up when they are down? Why do some people bring tears to our eyes when facing great adversity? What makes us as people stand just a little taller when witnessing someone else's bravery? Why do some individuals deliver tears to our eyes when we witness their undying will to live? Why? Because in each and everyone of us there is good and compassion that can't wait to be displayed and released. So just like your body needs food and water to grow, open your heart to others so that you too may be a beacon to others. The light that shines from your heart will only inspire others to shine their inner light to others as well.
