Hey !! （＾ν＾）This week I’ve had an interview at my uni about going abroad to Japan for a semester. In my motivation letter I mentioned how you were filming your life in Tokyo, which inspires me to go too since I’m really curious about the culture, the food and the lifestyle there. While talking with them, an interviewer mentioned having watched one of your videos and said you were just drinking Cola 😭 Idk how to describe it but she made it sound like it was an invalid/unimpressive reason for my motivation like- I told her that you do much more than that, also mentioned that you upload more on TikTok as well. So many people applied to go to my desired uni, so I really hope that I get lucky. They were pretty strict with the questions, but it’s to be expected. Y’all wish me luck !! Hmm sounds like she doesn't get although I really hope you get the spot ❤ ... bit of a tip from someone who's done loads of interviews which have gone well... 1. Don't be 100% honest. Just tell them what they want to hear. 2. Ask loads of questions. It shows you value yourself and are interviewing them too. Good luck ✌🏼
I honestly have recently struggled to continue watching videos of Japan, especially study abroad vlogs. I applied for TUJ and unfortunately was not accepted which gave me a loss of confidence in myself and hope, mostly because I had a strong desire to live and study in Japan. Watching these videos just made me very emotional for a while so I tried to give myself a break from youtube altogether. I have felt a lot better about my situation, therefore I wanted to start watching your channel because you have always inspired me. I know I should not dwell on not getting into my dream uni because their are always other opportunities and I know I have struggled academically due to my mental and physical health through high school, so I have begun furthering my options to begin college in the US and transfer when my academic profile improves. I just want to say thank you so much for giving me hope and I genuinely love your videos as they inspire me. I also think that opening a cafe in Japan would be amazing! maybe incorporating menu items that you may not find at your typical cafe in Japan.
i am intending on also pursuing education in japan. i'm intending on going to a japanese language school before this - if you haven't already learned the language, and if you have the money i'm sure it could be a worthwhile experience on its own, and also open more opportunities to attend other universities in japan if you manage n1 :)
this editing style is soooo cool! i think you should do a mix of this and more talking because both are great :) even if the video does come out to be a bit longer, i think that mixture would be worth it and sooooo fun! keep it up 🙌

love the vibe!! i want to recommend my favorite cafe in tokyo because i think you would like it,, its mermaid coffee rossters in ikebukuro! they offer different types of beans and good sandwiches. the staff are very welcoming and genki. lastly is the interior makes you feel like youre in a vintage store packed with fleeting memories!! happy new year and i wish you’ll have a good one this time around🎉

I’m an Australian but when I went to Japan me and my family found this cafe that this Australian guy owns and started to bring a bit of western food and coffee to japan
When i went to Japan i went to a few cafes, and turned out the owners had been to Australia and had brought some of that Australian cafe culture back with them. It was so funny seeing aussie style meat pies in Kanazawa!
this style was a great change of pace! though i will admit i do like your videos where you talk because i think you are very interesting and well spoken!! but this was also cool cus it was nice n easy to watch n digest. a good way to break up the usual videos now n then!

I’m not even sure if my opinion matters but ever since you’ve come back from travelling your content just seems so much better! Before it was kind of like most other RU-vidrs that decide to make videos because they move to Japan, and it was more like Japan was the interesting part of the videos as opposed to you. Now there’s a lot more personalisation and individuality that I’m beginning to find myself looking forward to each new vid✨ Also this editing style was great, it would be nice to see it used in every couple of vids!

This video is soooo cute ! The little escalator clip in the beginning, the music throughout, ryan's day (actually love that so much), just everythinggg-absolutely love it. This video, in particular, might be one of my favorites. I've been around since you had like three videos out, and I've come to realize how many common interests we share: fashion, the cafe idea, collecting hirono, wanting to be an iJustine girly...just to name a few. It's so fun seeing how similar people can be while living vastly different lives, and I think that, is why I've always enjoyed your videos (and then also your sense of humor and how genuine you seem). Side note: Since you're reading 'Almond,' I recommend reading 'The Perfect World of Miwako Sumida' too. I read it straight after reading 'Almond' and liked it a lot. It's kind of slow at first, but you become so invested. It also carries the same kind of vibe and covers so many different topics without it feeling overdone ((,:
Yeah, this was definitely something I liked... I liked this video because it was sorta like we got to explore with you, got to live a little vicariously through you if you will. But yeah, loved the kitty at the beginning lol. But yep. Please do some more of these videos!!!
Ryan I’m typing this after viewing the closet dilemma but I know there’s some sort of contraption where you can add a closet bar without holes it’s just a rod with like rubber ends and it’s adjustable so if you did it from the stairs to the end of the wall. So, boom extra closet storage/bar. I really hope the explanation made sense lolll. 😳✨
Nice editing!! I would suggest using a slightly darker color for the font when u want to use lighter colors + a white stroke. For example the baby blue type used in this vid made it harder to read, but ur editing is very nice so please continue this style if u like it!! 💙⭐️

I did like the editing, and now i understand at the end that you were going for a "noistalgic" kind of vibe. But here is my constructive feedback: music was really nice, good pics (maybe you can add a bit more nostalgic video game kind of music) i really really love it when you put in the text and the colors and fonts were really well picked only the effect you used while going over shibuya crossing / up the elevator didnt really fit the whole flow of the video. But i think if you keep extending your boundries with editing and trying more stuff you will definety get some really goos results in the future!
