For the first time, I prefer the outcome on my Easy Eight over your Firefly. I never thought that I would ever dare say that. My experience with building the tracks for the RFM Easy Eight was that it was a struggle. It gave actual physical headaches. In the end, they took me three weeks with lots of breaks. Would I build another RFM set of tank tracks? Yes. Definitely. The end result was very pleasing. The part that I truly loathed was the absolutely miniscule pieces of photo-etch. The carpet monster was well fed, shall we say. 😊❤😊

Love the Sherman Firefly VC and IC. This looks great. Greatest tank of World War II. Thanks for sharing. God bless.

Just wanted to say how much I appreciate the fact that you keep your vids in real time, and don't speed things up during the weathering/painting segments.

I did a test run assembling the tracks of this kit. Did about 20 links before putting everything back in the box and sending it back to the stash. They were just too time consuming. One day I will build this kit but I will most likely buy an aftermarket track for the model. I would not mind a rubber band style track because I have no use for a workable track on this model.

Thanks for the great build videos. A question re decals specifically on armor, I remember years ago, someone would spray very high gloss clear where the decals go so they lay down better, then spray a flat clear over them. Also I’ve notice so many people do amazing weathering and chipping, but leave the decals perfectly intact. IHMO looks odd. If you think that all the markings on the real tanks were indeed painted, then they also would have been subjected to all the damages the rest of the real tanks surfaces would have had. A think it would be interesting to see stencils to spray paint the markings, or have decals that look weathered and beaten up. Again thanks for the great videos. I’m a new subscriber.

Just started watching your builds, I find enjoyable and educational. I have been building ships these last two years, but after watching several of your tank builds I pull a Dragon kit of the Tiger 131 and got to it. It was a refreshing change up. The Sherman is one model where either rubber band tracks or link tracks would work, but the link tracks give you that 3rd dimensional look that rubber tracks cannot. So I always go for the link tracks over rubber band tracks, but I do have several American tanks with rubber band tracks which some good weather do look natural.

A really beaut build and a very nice kit by the looks of it...well done. Really enjoy your commentary.....you tell it as it is (in your opinion) which is a plus for us viewers. Thanks again for sharing....see you in the next one (whatever that may be!!)

Looks really great. Brave not putting down at least one coat of varnish on those decals... Great build from start to finish; top stuff.

Can’t wait to get this kit and just realised that the name, Velikiye Luki is Joe Ekins’ firefly who is credited with the Michael Wittmann kill......now I really want this kit

You're really, really good. Just light weathering subtle. Very stylish and eye pleasing. I'm sick of seeing typical heavy weathering from modelers. What's the point of making a heavily weathered vehicle that looks like sh#t? The point is to have a model that's leading to the eye and that involves light weathering. Great subtle job!

There aren't any rules/laws when modelling... if you personally don't like models heavily weathered it does not make them shit. Grow up. This is a nice clean example of a model lightly weathered but hell he could have painted it red if he wanted to and thats equally fine.

Look at more photos of the period. combat-used equipment looked like shit in ww2 because the only thing you'd care about is that it worked, not how it looked. Also agreed with what Mortarz said. To some of us, very lightly / not weathered kits are not interesting to look at.

I have this kit in my stash. I have only one problem: there are loads of options, but no indications of which ones apply on which tank. I want to build Joe Ekins' Firefly, but I would like it to be accurate.

Great build and good model. Decals confuse me. This is a British sherman with american star and name of a small Russian town on sides of the hull - Velikie Luki. How does it come together?
