@@susanmarshall817I have always been a fan of R&B, and Rock and Roll. I love any music though. Most folks don't realize almost all modern music comes from American folk music. That is why it is easy to appreciate almost any good song of any genres.

Yes, RC thought... I thought I was the best picker!! 😂. I was never a huge Glen fan but after that song, I developed a new kind of respect for him. Not long after I saw this for the first time, I was watching a show and they were talking about the best guitarists ever. And of course you hear all the names, but one guy said I think Glen Campbell. They showed this clip and I think it changed a lot of people's minds!

Like many viewing this program, I'm old, seen way to many friends in my life, and friends from the music world pass away. This video took me back to so many happy times of years past, a time when hope of new things to happen was alive. A time when I felt even better years were still in front of me. These songs made me feel so alive decades ago.......... and tonight, a rare time now, alive once more.

Thanks Stephen, it's what I was trying to say. I listen to three of these Ralph Emery programs over & over. As the saying goes, re nothing like the Hollywood Golden Ages & those great films/actors will ever come again...I do not think a group of singers like these will ever appear again. I loved hearing Campbell, Waylon, Bobby Bare, the women here, etc.

God blessed this man in talent, and character. I almost cried when he died in 2017. P.S. Soon after we lost Bobby Bare, Tom T Hall, Charlie Pride, my #2 favorite.

Chet Atkins died just a few years later in '01. That's him teasing B J Thomas about all the singers who turned down "Raindrops." Waylon Jennings, too, died in '02. Then, Glenn Campbell died in '17, Roy Clark in '18. We lost B J Thomas in '21. Someone fill in the rest if I've missed any but I remember these deaths as they happened. That's a heck of a lot of talent sharing one stage. Thank God Willie Nelson is still with us!

Walt Disney World used to do special events overnight. Many years ago my girlfriend and I went to a Valentines Day event. It was a concert with various artists and the ones I remember were Marty Robbins, Larry Gatlin and the Gatlin Brothers, Ray Stevens, and I can’t remember the 4th artist (my bad). Anyway, we started with Marty Robbins and ended with Ray Stevens. We really enjoyed Larry’s performance but Ray Stevens brought the house down. He was supposed to end at a certain time so they could clean up and prepare for the next days opening. After about his 4th encore they cut his power. He just sang louder. They finally cut off the lights. With that he took the hint. He led us out of the park in a conga line with Ray leading the way.

It’s doesn’t really matter which tempo Glen’s playing and singing this at, I was a young 12 yo Ky coal miners daughter and loved it. I believe that when I first heard this song it embedded in me a longing to be one of those who wander but are not lost!
