This sprayer is great... Only downfall was when the battery got low, it would start to spit out paint and not shoot continuously... This was when the 2ah battery was out and it would drain the battery pretty fast.. Then the 4ah battery and it runs longer with less spray spitting... Now i got my Dewalt to Ryobi adaptor so i use my 6ah dewalt battery
Ryobi also has a 6ah and a 9ah HP battery... They also had a 3ah P191 for a bit that had 21700 cells inside. If you can get your hands on one of those you'd be happy too.
I wish Ryobi made an adjustable tip and adjustable pressure cordless texture sprayer. Something small for doing spot repairs and for stairways, hallways, and small closets where hoses and cords can cause problems and force me to spray at such an angle it is sometimes visible even after painting. If it could handle aggregate(popcorn cieling or sand wall) that would be even better but even just orange peel would be better than nothing.
Keep the sprayer at right angle to the surface at all times - and always at the same distance, your technique is what makes a good finish. Basically keep your wrist and forearm locked at 90 deg to the surface and let your body, legs and shoulder do the moving.
yeah you should clean the rig as soon as you're done spraying and keep it clean make sure it's perfectly clean each time before you put it away and then there will be no issues secondly the batteries I use the big battery in it last for maybe an hour
Spend the money and get Graco’s newest cordless model. Powered by dewalt 20 volt batteries. It kicks ass and doesn’t lose its prime like most of these handheld cordless models. And it’s very lightweight compared to ryobi and Wagner models.
yeah, I also would like to know what you meant by that? I know nothing about paint sprayers and I would appreciate knowing what you meant by prime. thanks!
Can you answer a couple of questions: 1) Did the tip clog up on you? If so, was it easy to clean/clear? 2) How long did you get off your battery? Thanks! (Also, LOVED the last bit of text at the end)
We had it....and I didn't care, if it matters, a oil based paint should be used with a professional spray rig, but this tool is fine for "getting the job done", if you are not looking for "showroom quality, but simply applying a ,freshening coat of paint.
Jesus is Lord of all:) Thanks for the tool review! I have a question. If you turn the sprayer sideways does it stop working? It looks like it would stop because the tip is adjustable. Let me know please. God Bless you bro! New sub here!
Yeah , it isn't pressurized that way, it works with a suction tube, Of course if you needed that for some reason, you could "McGyver" it to work that way (by altering the suction tube).. God Bless You Brother !!
Thank you sir:) I am looking for ideas on tools I would like to tell my sweetheart. She wants to know what I want so I will have mercy on her and just tell her this year. Ha ha ha:) God Bless you real good bro! Lets sub one another...
Really like the paint scheme for your camper. How were the end results? Been thinking of getting about getting a wagner spray painter to do my garage doors but this is an interesting gadget. Looks like it pulses the spray a lot. Did that create any problems?
+Happy Trails It turned out great, been almost 3 years and looks as good as new... I didn't notice any "pulsing", I do entry doors all the time and they turn out perfect...
Can you direct to a video displaying the reassembly of this spray unit ??? I have one that I haven’t used in over a year & not sure if ... 1) all parts are present ... 2) how it goes back together ... thanx for your time ...
Yes but a regular sprayer with a compressor is also loud at least this increases productivity and reduces setup time. It's a pain to setup a compressor, hose, power, etc especially if its only a small area. Great product demonstration but I couldn't hear a thing that was said with the sprayer going.
I love this , I want to get one , But I live in Australia , and we are so far behind , there not even out here yet We get all the left overs , like dogs , Ryobi WAKE UP
69muscat Not worth the money, I personally find the electric ones are really inconsistent depending on the paint you use the pump really struggles to keep up, spend the extra 100-200 and grab a full airless sprayer setup.
The sprayer comes with two atomizers... if you can't find the second one, go to Home Depot, they are only a couple of dollars each, and they are in stock ;-)
I don't think they make them anymore They certainly don't have the 18 volts anymore I think they may still make the plug-in version And it is exactly the same other than it never loses power because of the battery
I don't know, it is awesome... but I also own the electric models and they are exactly the same... Pro's and Con's: Con...stupid cord in the way, have to have power available nearby Pro's... You need to use a good battery, it needs full voltage (which isn't a problem really)....
There's a million different kind of products but on the can itself will say What is the cleanup procedure so if it tells you to use paint thinner to clean up that's what you use to thin if it tells you to use water to clean up that's what you use to thin whatever the procedure is for cleanup is the same product you use to thin but don't use too much just a little bit of thinner is all you need keep testing it till you get exactly what you want
Not true. All the review of this online are scathing. It lasts 15 minutes. Ryobi have discontinued it such has been the bad reception for its sprayers. Waste of money.
Probably because it used a lot of battery quickly but because I own so many Ryobi tools and I own the Big 5 batteries then it wasn't an issue for me but probably other people were complaining so they just said forget it the corded ones are exactly the same except with a cord
The batteries do make it nice But because people were complaining about the gun not functioning ultimate when the battery wears down They discontinued it It really is why we cannot have nice things People are a bunch of damn complainers Electric version they have is exactly like it except it's plug-in instead of battery So that's how I keep my battery one in perfect condition just by having a few of the other electric ones I pull parts off of They are exactly the same try to find one and then for parts buy the electric one
As easy as it can be And Totally sucks But what cleaning of paint doesn't It's paint It's a freaking mess But it could not be simpler The only one I've seen simpler Is that Graco with the disposable bag And then it's only half the cleanup But you still got to clean all the rest of the parts
Well if you are concerned with that you can certainly able to start smaller and add up add in 5% and see what it looks like see what a sprays like then add a little more keep doing that until you get to whatever you like
Mike I don't believe they sell it anymore I don't believe they manufacture it anymore you need to buy the electric one which is identical and it works better because it's always a "" full battery" and so that's the ticket ,buy the electric one ,it works exactly the same except it's not cordless
Jon Hughes thanks, i just bought this machine, i havent tried it yet whit paint, filled whit water and it seems to drip alot? i was testing round tip, should t his get "fixed" whit heavier material? or will it drip down whit paint aswell ?
Nati Maturana Hi, If you haven't already, go through the machine and check it to make sure everything is tight, it shouldn't leak...at all......I have three, and none leak...
Ok thanks alot for your input, i cleaned it and tightned, seemed that previous owner had not cleaned the nossel. now it looks fine and is not dripping. thanks!
Too thick. The Wagner flexion series is much better for that. It can spray any type of paint. Nice, fine coats or thick if so desired. Fine tune it to where there is almost zero overspray.. they don't have a cordless but, do you really want a hand held sprayer that takes 2 hands to hold?
Fine, I didn't need to replace it with a charged one, for the entire project, of course though, I own 20 batteries and they are always charged... so, I really didn't consider it either ;-)
But if you meant to say how is the painter holding up The gun is still in good working condition I don't know that they make that battery operated one anymore But the exact same one comes with a extension cord You do have to plug it in But it works exactly the same
Hi John They stopped making it apparently I know that mine is Frozen a couple times And you can simply dissect it clean it up and put it back together again Unless you've actually lost the pieces But if you still own them pull the Piston out separate it from the spring clean everything real well put it all back together again you'll be good to go Once it gets stuck it doesn't want to move The spring and the Piston are supposed to be two different parts you need to separate them if they're stuck together and then put it back together and let me know if it worked If not you'll have to go to eBay and find this unit and buy it and then use their parts
Hi John Also I think you should buy the new Ryobi paint sprayer it's 18 volt and I think you can use the same parts also so by the new one it's only 60 bucks here in Grants pass Oregon but it looks like it connects perfectly to your old stuff but if the new one works great you can just use the new one but if it doesn't work that good you can just take the parts off of it and use your old one anyway I'm going to buy a new one it'll be here in a week and I'm going to make a new video on it if you want to wait but if I were you I would just order the new one it's 18 volt Ryobi and it should work perfectly fine
Why a cordless tool to do this? Those batteries are not for free, not money wise and not for the environment, I only use cordless tools when it's the only option (except for my impact screwdriver, I'm not an extremist;-) ) I guess tools are realy cheap in the US.
+Igorfun I bought the tool and wanted to do a video for others, so ...win win.... I also bought the corded version too, it is better, only because the power is consistent......when I use the cordless, I use the biggest , baddest battery, and have no issues, both are great....
you can see it pulsing the output in this video... not good. That and it looks like your holding a gallon can of paint with a handle and battery attached... way too bulky. When you have to use two hands to spray never a good sign.
