Here's a quick update on my Ryobi RYI2300 inverter generators with Gen Control Bluetooth app. I also show how I connect this 120v generator to my 30 amp 10 circuit transfer switch during a 3 day power outages. It powered our home for 70+ hours straight!
***this is not a "how to" video. I am not a licensed electrician. Consult with a licensed electrician before doing any DIY electrical.

My telescoping handle is louder then the engine. How did you silence yours?

There is a stopper at the top of the handle. I took remove that screw placed a large/thick rubber washer and put the screw back in. It worked flawlessly.

I've been finding conflicting reports about running a standard 25 cu. ft. refrigerator/freezer due to the starting wattage (which I also can't find documented). Any idea if this can run a Whirlpool WRF535SWHZ? I know it's a specific question out of left field, but thanks!

It all depends on starting amp required. My 24 CF frig pulls around 10 amps on startup (1000 watts). My ryobi 2300 has no issues at all powering it. Actually I'm able to run my 24 cf frig, upright 18 cf freezer, gas furnace, tv, interior lighting (LED) and charge a few devices all at once. Did it for 2 days last year during an outage.

Hii 1 question, do you think the switch bottom that turns the generator off, you think this also shoot the gas off?? Or it's just a electrical function that just cut the electricity to turning it off?? I'm wondering because I'm thinking about how can I shoot off the gas before it would turned it off completely (in order to run it dry and avoid bad gas stick in the carburator)

Good question! I believe it does shut the fuel off..Personally I'd drain the fuel if I weren't going to use it for a few months. I use mine often enough to not have to worry about it.

Did you run the generator straight 24hrs?

Shut it down a total of 6 times over 3 days. 3 times to refuel and twice when we left our home for a few hours. Ran it for 24 hours and only shut it off for a few minutes while refueling.

Temporary is permanent as most will never rework their messes. This is not an attack on you personally but an observation from someone's who is actually knowledgeable. Take it as constructive criticism... If you seek to impart knowledge to others make sure it's safe and accurate. There are so many improper connectors, components, wire gauge sizing for a home load; this includes your generator choice. Do others a favor and just take the video down... It's irresponsible at best and at worst may cause someone their home or lives. Wishing you your family and friends all the best during these trying times.

I've since added a 30 amp generator inlet. No issue with the old setup just wanted to make it "permanent". My house is still standing 🙂🤔
