Just purchased a whole setup thanks to all of your detailed videos! Everything just arrived today. I’m not achieving the same amount of foam that you are. I was really hoping for more. Any helpful tips are much appreciated. I’ll list my specs below Ryobi 1800 psi 1.2 gpm washer 30’ Uber flex hose Mjjc s v3 (1.1 orifices installed) Mr pink soap (3oz, the rest water) 50’ 5/8 flexzilla garden hose Using water from the tap outside Quick connects for everything Appreciate any insight!
Use filtered water. You don't need a lot of soap to get foam either. 2-3 oz per canister. Make sure the mesh inside the foam cannon is clean and turn the nob all the way up for maximum foam. I have a full house filter then a deionizing filter to my pressure washer. You don't need all that filtration. Just a simple home filter or inline filter for rvs that connect directly to the water hose spigot will work.
I received my pressure washer ru-vid.comUgkxfQauTxLT0JLSvqkq10rD79TU4k0Vz8zP over the weekend and decided to wait for the sun to come out before firing it up. Was needed to clean the deck. Our last pressure washer broke a couple of seasons ago, and I just hadn't replaced it yet. This one had great comments, so here we are. It was easy to assemble, and the trigger wand is comfortable and easy to hold for long periods of time. The pressure washer worked great and made quick work of the "TN North side algae" that inevitably grows every year. I also washed all of the deck furniture while I was at it... it all looks great! So far I am happy with this purchase. I plan to climb the ladder to wash siding over the next couple of days, will update if I have anything else to add after that!
Looked everywhere to figure out the size of the pressure washer hose for this unit and you're the first one to say it's standard 14mm even the manual didn't say and I didn't wanna order a new hose and it not fit so thank you! Also amazing video perfect details not to long and no bs fluff
Just got the Ryobi 1800psi pressure washer and the MJJC (from your website) and switched out to the 1.1 which was included in box. I also bought the 2.5 orfice via your link which assuming watching your video gave me 1050psi at about 1.4ish (safe for cars). I also used MR PINK and WOOOOOOOOW and my 2021 Challenger GT AWD was covered in FOAM like a Buffalo NY winter morning. Works great. ordered the quick connencts and waiting for them as well. Thanks for the advice 🤘🏻
This is what I am planning to get as a start to car washing/detailing. I might try mega foam from Adams as well considering it's the best foaming shampoo out there.
I bought this little guy about a week ago and for the price, you cannot beat it! It took about 10 minutes to assemble and about 1 minute to hook up some water and start washing. I'm new to power washing things around the house and I wanted something easy and portable to clean my siding, deck, and a stone slab - and this thing is it. Needless to say, it tackled them all flawlessly with the default attachments. In regards to the slab - I actually didn't have time to finish it, but I knocked out a corner just to test and I'm very happy with the results.. I'm actually looking forward to this coming weekend to finish the whole slab.
Thank you for this comment. I keep looking at this pressure washer because I think Josh really likes it. I too need it for around the house, my porch/driveway, fence and to keep my house looking clean. I'm trying to find one that will last. Again thank you and thank you Josh. 🙏
@@i-am-star I'm in the same boat. I need a new pressure washer and nothing out there seems to have great reviews without also having a bunch of 1 star reviews. It's hard to trust what is best. But at this price, I think I will go for it. Also buying that foam cannon from this site. I wish he sold the Adam's mega foam... would prefer one stop shopping and I like to support small businesses. Maybe I will fill the cart with some brushes and towels.
@@matthewpeterson3329 I agree 💯. Yep, I'm definitely concened about the 1 star ratings. Many years ago I tried one of their gas PW, I tried 3 brand new pw(s) and they all unalived after one use. HD had a policy that if you put gas in them they didn't want them returned. They were having such a problem with the power washers they had to allow returns on them. I don't know what to do. Good luck.
Amazon sold me a used one and others have reported the same problem. Box opened and resealed. Unbelievable, thank goodness because I bought a new one at h.d. for $75 less than Amazon's used hunk of poop
I have the version with the black housing. I had bought a Greenworks electric pressure washer from Lowes when my gas-powered unit went in for repair. The GreenWorks lasted about 4 months.. the pump seals went ( a light mist at first to a full-blown failure). I saw the Ryobi on sale for $80 at the "big orange box" and said "why not"? It works like a champ. I did save the framework that the Greenworks unit came on, I am making a small shelf to put the Ryobi on to make it easier to wheel around.
Hmmm, I bought the greenworks as well I believe it's 1700 about the same size as the Ryobi in video about three years ago and still getting er done. I must of got lucky. Lol. I only use for washing my car. No signs of failure yet. Hopefully I didn't hex myself! Lmao
I'm new to car detailing. I'm becoming almost obsessed with it. I really enjoy your videos. Super informative, with no fluff. You, Tesla, and Pan the organizer are my go to's. Thank you for such great content and advice
Car Craft Auto Detailing has better 50/50’s and is a Jedi-level detailer, obsessed garage does better tool reviews and is more knowledgeable (even tho I hate that guy), Apex Detail is an uncontested pro. Pan the Advertiser just makes commercials for companies and collects checks. He has no barometer of what makes a product any good. Tesla ain’t as bad but he wants to be, hence the mountains of affiliate marketing
I've been using this Pressure washer for the last few months ever since watching this video, I got mine off Amazon and is different color, this color is a Home Depot exclusive. It's been amazing and hasn't given me a bit of trouble. The turbo nozzle never gets used, the standard tips are perfect for car detailing and washing. I converted the gun over to a Ridge Washer snubby gun and it works perfectly. The standard handle I use with the Ryobi wheeled undercarriage washer however.
@@GarrettHamilton I'm using adams foam cannon! Which produced heavy thick snow foam with my gas pressure washer, Now that I've got this ryobi electric pressure washer I get suds more then anything.
@@WhenImGoneCa I recommend running about 1/3-1/2 of the jug with soap and then pour very hot water into the jug and then swirl to mix then begin spraying, I've had no problems with the knock off Adam's cannon to spray foam, works great.
Just got mine from home depot last weekend. Ordered the Uber flex hose in the stub gun and extensions from Harbor freight. The combo is wonderful works awesome. Highly recommended by several detailers in youtube videos
Picked this up the other day and just used it for the first time today, and the gun broke. Took it apart to see if it was repairable, but it split where the plastic was fused together. Guess I'll be upgrading that like you suggested. 😁
New to car detailing and quickly became obsessed with it just picked up my first set up based from your reviews so thank you . Don’t really know which nozzles are good when detailing .
I just finished watching your video and ordered that exact configuration from the get go, the Ryobi washer, uberflex hose and Mjjc cannon, cant wait to try it
Super thorough and detailed review. Thanks! I'm going to pick one of these up tomorrow. Will look into other foam cannon options and possibly a longer hose after I start using it some
I have this exact pressure washer and Uberflex hose but how can I connect them both to a 3/8” Cox Reel hose reel??? This seems like such an obvious question that nobody can answer! Help? 😩
I bought one of those little Craftsman suitcase pressure washers 1800s first one started leaking took it back to Lowe's second one lasted about a month and started leaking now I just picked up this Ryobi at Home Depot for $99 see how long it lasts
SO, Im just cleaning trash cans (not household bins, the big ones the city collects from your house every week). I've watched several of your videos, maybe 2 hours worth. And my conclusion is MAYBE I can get an electric pressure washer for under $100 and invest in a high quality foam cannon, like this MJJC foam cannon pro for $70 , instead of buying a $400 pressure washer. AND typically a $400 pressure washer is going to come with WAY more PSI than I need and will blow trash cans across the street. Let me know your feedback bout this approach!
Look up foreverselfemployed he has a video on this. He says anything less than 2500 psi is preferred. I’m going to start a trash bin cleaning side hustle soon as well. How’s it going with your side hustle? Just curious
Great video and review, look forward to watching more of your content! Are you able to link the other foam cannon you recommend, you only have one in the description.
Josh, Totally off the subject, does some detailing products in the plastic bottles which I call ratchet caps, like child proof caps, can you unscrew them by hand or are they made to stay on, and not to be taken off! For instance the 16 oz Beadmaker cap or any product with that style of cap that you might have in your arsenal! I have several bottles of Beadmaker and I want to tranfer them into a larger container, cant get the caps off!! Thanks for your time!!
Hello there. I purchased this unit I actually used it today ,Its nice little unit ,I also Ordered a Westhouse EPX3100v 2100 PSI 1.76 GPM How do you compare both of these ? Have you over used Westhouse EPX 3100 ? I don't like the fact they don't come with the wheels . The hose on Ryobi is super thin needs to be replaced with higher quality for sure. any inputs ? The reason I bought the electric one I have a 2024 Corvette Z06 don't want to use my 3500 Gas pressure washer . I do like the Active 2.0 pressure washer . I don't want to spent $400 for washing my car for 15 minutes a day ,not worth it to me
I’m new to car detailing and been watching a ton of your videos. As someone just getting into detailing should i spend my money on this ryobi or the karcher 1800?
I have this exact Ryobi pressure washer and just bought the MJJC foam cannon PRO… but I’m not sure if I’ve configured the water to soap ratio because you get CRAZY suds whenever I see your videos. How do you mix your solution? What’s the ratio - 1:1? 1:4? 1:10? Is the 1.25mm or 1.1mm orifice work best for the MJJC on this Ryobi?
Thank you so much for this video. It helps me a lot who is new for car washing at home. can you recommend right orifice size for this ryobi washer? for 40 degree. I am thinking 40 degree 4.0 orifice for safe use.
Just purchased the 1800, perhaps a dumb question, but mine has a hard white plastic "plug" in the inlet where a filter would normally occur. I can't blow any air past this, seems it would block water. It seems like it is made to be in place as it doesn't easily remove. I did not try this yet to see if in fact water flows past it but it seems unlikely. Nothing in the instructions about removing this, just leave it and run it? seems weird
!Hey josh great video i have a question.. I bought this pressure washer above and i bought a m22-14 swivel +3/8 quick connect plug from Amazon and the mjjc foam cannon but they do not connect.. do I need to buy a after market wand to connect my foam cannon too or am I missing something ? Please help
That hose kinked on me and caused a tear. My dad installed the hose end and basically let it rotate on itself while tightening and when i began working and walking away with the hose it cracked and l stopped to see why I lost pressure immediately
Got this pressure washer, got the 2.5 tips, the stubby gun, foam cannon and waiting on the Uber flex. Looks like the gun came with 3.0 tips as well, what do you think the GPM with the 3.0 would look like?
Josh thank you for the video. I had 1 question hoping you can help me. I live in an apartment complex that i don’t have a water source to attach. Does this come with an adapter that i can use in a 5 gallon bucket?
Question. Does foam really help clean? How does foam trump a blast from a pressure washer? I could see spraying foam in order to follow up with a wash mitt.
Yea and there are different types of soap to foam Some are a higher ph which will break down more dirt and contamination. Even when using a ph neutral soap, i love foaming it so that it ads some lubrication to the whole surface
Question: Bin watching all of your videos (and now Subscribed). Thanks! - Can I assume that using a 5 gal bucket of water as the 'source' is not an option?
If you can have the water connection at the bottom of the bucket it would work. But you would only have about 4. min of run time before the water is gone
@@imjoshv OK, Thanks! Then I think that I'll give it a try using a 14 gal portable gasoline tank (never before used for gas 😉) which has its outlet at the very bottom, plus it will be mounted in the back of my truck (and therefore 3 ft off the ground). So as you are alluding to, the water weight should provide the power-washer just enough input pressure to allow it to maybe come close to its maximum output specifications.
Picked up one of these to test my garage electrical since I don't have a dedicated 15 or 20a.. thinking if it works, might swap it for the active 2.0. Is it safe to say that the electrical draw will be similar? Have a gas running a 4.0 and 4.5 for safer pressure. Works well, but noisy, and start stop would be great. Have the upgraded hose and mtm swivel . Just residential personal use. ** well, breaker held, no issue. Gas is like 2800 2.3gpm, running a 4.0 or 4.0 gpm seems good. Never measured. Thinking that trying the active 2.0 will get my gpm up a bit vs the 1800... my pressure Guage, like yours, read 1500.. might just read low. ** thanks for the awesome videos,
When you said the 2.5 orifice do we use that attachment for the foam cannon as well. Or do we take it off and just put it on the foam cannon without the 2.5 orifice. Is the 2.5 orifice only for water cleaning and not foam
For the foam cannon I would use a 1.1mm orifice inside of it. A 1.1mm is actually equivalent to like a 3.0 or 3.5 nozzle. Depending on the foam cannon you have, it may have it already. The 1.1 will give a bit more foam.
Hello, I recently purchased a Ryobi 1800 power washer, an Armor foam cannon (no 1.1 orfice yet), and Pro X One snow foam soap. After washing my RV and car, I noticed lots of streaking and spotting. It was done in the afternoon on a warm but not a hot day. I worked in sections but still had bad results. Did I use bad soap? What can I do to correct the problem? Will the streaking and spotting wash of with the next washing? Have you completed your own soap mixture yet? Thanks, Tom
I know this is old but still valid. I watched your videos and ended up with the Ryobi 1800, Uber Flex hose, McKillans gun, and the 2.5 GPM nozzles, and the disconnects. I enjoyed washing my car today. Thanks to you, I have a good enough low cost garage pressure washer setup. Very happy with my setup now. Coming from a gas 3200 psi ryobi pressure washer. Thanks for the info!!!!
After my car was swirl marked to hell at the local wash, enough is enough. Going to start buying everything and learn as I go. This channel has great recommendations, thanks for all the info!
I've owned this power washer it seems like 5 years now power washing driveways fences houses honestly I expected it to give up the first year and I still would have been satisfied with the amount of work that it completed however she sits in my garage with her plastic completely faded showing the hours she has on the job and still not missing one beat.
2.5 orifice is the preferred choice at 1050psi for this pressure washer. Gives you the most gpm @ 1.43gpm. (His preference is 1000-1200psi for detailing cars)
Which would you recommend,I'll be using it for car washing, but which one you think would be best, the $100-1600/$160-1800 or the $200- 2000,maybe the 2000psi with the 2.5 or 3. Tips to keep the psi a little better?
So between the Ryobi 1800 or 1900 which one do you prefer for washing cars. Like you vids. I’ve already got the spray wand and foam cannon along with the Uber flex hose. Now I’m looking for the best pressure washer for doing cars. I have a large gas pressure washer but looking for something a little more portable.
How do you think 3/8" diameter 50ft hose would change the psi and gpm? Also which would you pick, Active 2.0 or this? Obviously there's a price difference as Active 2.0 is $350 and this is on sale at home Depot for $99. Is the extra gpm in the Active 2.0 worth the extra cost?
Thank you for this video I really appreciate it. I actually just purchased mine for 99$ at Home Depot and this video helped out with that decision. Amazing content keep it up!!!
Do you have any issues with backpressure or backflow when the gun is released? Mine backs up a lot to my backflow preventer when the nozzle is turned off
I have the 2300 greenworks electric works great but the stalling at first sucks & lack of space I just got this 1800 for $75.. excited to try it out for detailing
So we have brands like Ryobi that advertises the actual working pressure and GPM, but Active VE52 advertises a PSI way higher than their working PSI (1800 vs 1100). The whole industry needs some consistency in how they report numbers.
Watched your review and bought it yesterday and loved it! It does amazing and get the job done 😎 After watching your content and buying things based off your reviews, I can trust your input because it’s honest.
So I just did this test with a 2.5 orifice and I got 1.325 gpm. With the 3.0 I got 1.435 gpm. I’m using the nozzles from Amazon you recommended sooo I’m wondering if maybe you have the orifice size mixed up?? I don’t have a pressure gauge unfortunately to be 100%
Hi, I just bought this and with the factory nozzle I’m only getting 1400 psi With 2.5 nozzle 900 psi and 1.25 gpm With 3.0 nozzle only 700 psi Any thoughts? Should I return this pressure washer? What could be the problem? I have a 100 foot hose feeding the pressure washer washer. Do I need a shorter hose or that shouldn’t affect the performance?
Id try shorter hose first before returning. If you’ve got mediocre at best water pressure like I do that length could be affecting it some. Probably only missing out on a hundred psi or so regardless but that’s just a guess
whats the difference between this one (yellow, 1.2, 1800psi washer) and the grey one (1.2, 1800psi). Grey one is $129 and the yellow one is $99…. same specs? i dont get it
