The low speed needle adjustment screw is always nearest the engine, the high speed nearest the air filter. Useful to know when struggling with getting it to idle, respond quickly to acceleration, and run smoothly at full throttle.

I have the PacMan on my carb, and also the replacement catb too.

Some of the BP42 Blowers did come with the Pacman Screws to adjust the carburetor. I have one of Ryobi BP42 leaf blowers that came with Pacman screws on the carburetor.

Thank you for the great video, but please note that the high speed adjustment screw is on the left side (toward the air filter); the low speed adjustment screw, on the right side (toward the engine). If you were to remove the carburetor and look very closely you would see the adjustment screws marked with an "H" and an "L". Thanks again - the video was very helpful with my replacing the carburetor on my blower.

Excellent video, very clear and comprehensive. Thank you for taking the time to share your hands on experience with this most troublesome leaf blower.

I changed the carburetor, fuel lines, prime bulb and spark plug. It started after a little adjustment to the carburetor. Ran fine while using it. Turned it off to refuel. Now it won't start up again. What should I do?

You can try turning both the high and low needles all the way in, then turn the high needle (closest to the air cleaner) 1 1/2 turns out, then the low needle (closest to the cylinder) 1 to 1 1/2 turns out and that should get it running although you will need to tune it for the conditions and geographic location/elevation from there.

The make of carburetor sometimes determines what style of adjustment tool is appropriate. Now that you’ve got your adjustments done would you mind turning all three in all the way and count the turns and then report back on those numbers please?

I'm not sure how helpful that will be due to the possible difference of carbs, elevation you live at, and quality of gasoline that is used, but I will try to check that out in a month or so when I use it again

My Ryobi BP42 uses Pacman. I noticed yours is a Walbro carb. That's the difference. The carb on mine has no name. Not Walbro or Zama or anything.

Some carbs have different adjustment screws. Some might be pac-man and some may be d-shaped or flathead. Ryobi carbs are replaced constantly so who knows if you buy a used one or garage sale, CHINA, etc.....

I would address that fuel line hose that keeps popping off? If it's that loose, I bet there is an air/fuel leak.... Good video though! Good job...

The gentleman’s comment above is correct when he says some BP-42s come with Pac-Man screws. I have three of these exact blowers and one had a Walbro carb with “D” shaped screws, but the other two had Pac-Man screws; I think they had Zama carbs. So nobody is wrong about Pac-Man screws.
