Ryobi Electric Lawn Mower 2023 - FIRST LOOK - Crosscut RYPM8010 

With the battery itself a reported $900, I feel like Ryobi is pricing themselves out of their league.

The self propelled mower looks good hopefully we will get it in Australia

on our wish list 2025, Ryobi thumbs up

The 30" cutting width makes this interesting. I have a full ½ acre of lawn and while I like my Milwaukee mower, I wish it was wider.

It's very disappointing that Ryobi didn't run 2-40v batteries in Series increasing the voltage to 80v. Most of their consumers already own the 40v lineup and would have increased their chances of sales via tool only. Very disappointing on their part. I have the following in their 40v lineup: 21" Whisper Mower Backpack leaf blower 2 Stage Snowblower Whisper leaf blower Whisper Trimmer Pressure Washer I would have purchased the mower via tool only or with a battery, unfortunately I will not be purchasing this item. This would have added to my collection giving me endless run time with the amount of batteries I have as well. This would also increase their chances with lawn care service providers as well.

I plan on mowing around 40-50 lawns this season. I have a toro timemaster currently, but I would love to go completely gas free. I believe it's California's new law that's spurring on the push for these mowers.

I would like to know when you limit the speed does it slow the blades down? Or are there separate motors for self propel and blades?

Looks interesting but for now im happy with my 4ov mower i got 2-3 years ago. ^^

Not for $2,000. Sorry Ryobi - BIG FAIL. Why not use 40v batteries? Why?

I just saw one of these for the first time at Home Depot with a price tag above $1800.00. With the cost of a second battery running around $800.00, I could purchase four new Honda 21-inch (HRN 216) gas lawnmowers @ $549.00 each and still come out cheaper than this product. The Ryobi price point alone is a non-starter, much less replacement costs for extra batteries and the eventual replacement of the entire unit.

Used it again today, big Mistake! If you have a thick healthy Bermuda lawn, you will need to mow it twice if you want it to look good. With no control over the blade speed, there should be a nation wide recall on this mower.

This is the worst mower I have ever owned. I am a yard guy. No control over the blade speed. By the time this mower realizes it needs to ramp up the blade speed, it is ripping and pulling the grass out of my yard because the blades are not moving very fast. Great expensive tool to knock down weeds, if that is what you are looking for.

This is a cool idea but 2 grand for a mostly plastic mower? That seems ridiculous, especially when you can but a Toro timemaster for $1600 and it's probably infinitely better then this thing

Seems like all these electric mowers are plastic to save weight. That makes them essentially disposable. How is this something beneficial over time for the environment? No thanks, I will stick to gas mowers which are well constructed and last for decades with maintenance.

Its a Ryobi. Its lower tier then stuff like Ego. Hopefully they last at leadt 3 years.. Ryobi tools are strong but doesnt last. Too many cheap shortcut to save cost. You get what you paid for.
