matholimeu not sure exactly how many hours were on the engine, but it was stored for a year or two and that was enough to clog things up.

Already sold it, but the set screw is above the air box. I have other videos though where I show how to adjust.

Tyler Anderson it good for the price, but there are much better ones available. I got it when I was just starting. Would buy a better one now. But if you are not using it a lot then it will be fine. At this point I am overworking it and expecting it to die sometime soon as a result.

The AVR would effect the display. There is a chance it is the brushes or AVR, but you would have to test the ohms of the stator and rotor to be sure there is not a failure in the generator head.

@@jcondon1 Thank you for your response. I hope it’s the AVR lol, not the rotor like you had on the other video lol. I did your testing and it points to the AVR, I hope. I just came across your videos like a week or two weeks ago and I love them. Your are really informational. You do an amazing job showing step by step directions

@@jcondon1 So a weird thing happen. So I try one of those universal AVR from Amazon and it power the outlets and the hour meter but it started to smoke inside the housing and now some of the windings are burnt. I wonder why it started to smoke but it still power the outlets ? I end up buying a aftermarket oem AVR for it.

@@Hugo-Hernandez if the excitation winding is good then it will power up, but given the smoke, I would say that one or several windings had failed insulation and shorted together. If you continue to run it power will go out or the stator catch fire :(. The original AVR may have failed when the insulation went or maybe it was smart enough to sense the issue and not power up.

Tyler Anderson Ryobi parts are available from Ryobi. Very few other companies care them. Will send you a link to the Ryobi parts site shortly. I also have another Ryobi video on the same model that had a broken fan as well as a million other things, link at the end of this comment. Unfortunately I think I lost the footage of the actual fan replacement. Had to remove the flywheel nut. In the case of this generator I think the engine was running too fast which caused the failure. I think I paid around $200. But these normally sell in the $300-$400 range used in good condition.
