I just got one of these during "Ryobi Days" buy the batteries and get a free tool deal. I took it out of the box and it didn't have a manual so I went to the Ryobi site to get one; of course I had to navigate through a bunch of pop-ups and BS before I got to the PDF to print it. Anyway, this video came up near the top when I searched so I watched. I appreciate the many youtubers who educate nimrods like me but some of them are hams who must believe that they are movie stars! Thanks for posting a short and to the point tutorial. Bravo Zulu!

I just got one of these with a battery set from Home Depot and I can barely contain how PO'd I am that Ryobi sells a multitool, at any price point, in 2024 without a quick change lever. This is what I get for ordering online instead of going to the store.
@fixanythingsavemoney
@fixanythingsavemoney 2 месяца назад
I would just return it and get the one with the quick change. Apparently Ryobi does make one if that's what most of your tools are. I don't know the model number but I've gotten a lot of input from people saying they do make one. Thanks for the comment and for watching, let me know how you make out! Have a great day!

@@fixanythingsavemoney Yeah, the only reason I got this is because it was one of the "Get this tool free!" offers with the batteries. I would have had to spend twice as much to get the one with the quick-change, because that is the brushless version that comes with the expensive "HP" batteries that I don't need. But, you are right, I should return it. I think I'm going to get angry every time I look at this thing, I don't need that. Maybe I can have them swap it for a planer or something else. Thanks, though. I appreciated your video. I just wish I had watched it sooner.

@ichemnutcracker it definitely should be a standard feature on all of them by now. Especially with how quickly the blades burn out. Good luck with whatever tool you decide to get!

I have one of these, but the saw attachments it came with are round all the way around instead of having a notch to allow it to slide into the tool change part. I have to completely unscrew the bolt thing, put the blade on, and then awkwardly tighten it again. It's the same model as yours; i specifically searched for the model and found this video. Any ideas?
@fixanythingsavemoney
@fixanythingsavemoney 12 дней назад
Unfortunately on this model you have to remove the bolt. There are so many other models that offer the quick change feature with a lever you press in and just pull the blade out but on this one it takes a lot longer

Thanks for the vid very helpful! I guess I have a newer model, it is now tooless, much better than fishing for an allen key if you don't put it back etc.

@EverydayATV that's good to know. I bought mine fairly recently so was wondering why people were saying the new models are tooless. I guess it's just different models. Thanks for watching and for the comment, have a great day!

My hex pin won’t loosen what so ever, brand new machine. Any thoughts that could help?! I put a blade in( used for 4-5 minutes, tried to switch blades and I can’t get the first one off.

That wrench is in there very tight, try taking some pliers or a screwdriver and getting under it and lifting it up. After taking it out a few times it does loosen up. Hopefully that helps. Thanks for watching, have a great weekend!
@jf860
@jf860 Год назад
I'm wondering why the Allen wrench has one end ground down to a "pin"? You can only use one end of the wrench (which BTW is 5 mm). My Allen wrench doesn't stay in the slot they provided, especially when the tool is running! Other than that I liked the tool because I never had one and it came FREE when I bought 2 batteries with a charger, it was a great deal since I don't use a multi-tool frequently enough to justify the price.
@fixanythingsavemoney
@fixanythingsavemoney Год назад
That's strange. Mine wasn't like that. Maybe just buy a 5 mm and see if it fits better
@jf860
@jf860 Год назад
@@fixanythingsavemoney At 1:32 with the key on the table, the long end is a round pin. Anyway I did buy a 5mm key at the hardware store and it's tighter, tho I haven't "road tested" it yet.

How do you lock the blade from moving. I tighten/seat the blade fine with the hex, when i go to use the entire blade holding assembly shifts - from 12 oclock to say 2 oclock - the holding bolt isnt loose - its like the blade isnt locked in place
@fixanythingsavemoney
@fixanythingsavemoney 2 месяца назад
Is the blade flipped the wrong way? I'm not sure if that would even cause this. Other people have commented on here saying something similar. If you have a different brand of blade maybe try that? Do you know the brand of blade you're currently using?

Have one and is very underpowered. Pain to change blades. Only use it for soft materials.
@fixanythingsavemoney

I haven't really given it a great test as far as usage. I have a Dewalt Brushless that I use all of the time but thanks for the feedback on it! The blade change on it definitely caught me guard with how long it takes compared to other brands. Thanks for watching and for the comment, have a great day!

I take care to seat the blades properly and tighten down as much as I can and even line up the little holes on the sides, but the blades (especially the plunge cut ones) loosen after about a minute. What am I doing wrong, or how can I correct this ? Thanks.
@fixanythingsavemoney
@fixanythingsavemoney 11 месяцев назад
So the bolt is loosening? If that's the case I'm not sure as long as you're tightening it down sufficiently it definitely shouldn't be. If the blade itself is somehow coming loose I'd say maybe try a different brand of blades. Thanks for watching and for the comment! Have a good night!

I think I know the blade you're talking about. You can try to just losses the nut and see if the blade will wiggle free but I'm pretty sure you have to remove the nut entirely
