In the U.S. I ordered a Power Planter auger set, 3" and 5" diameter. It arrived in a couple of days. They come in 2" through 9" diameters depending on whether you're planting pansies or fence posts. You furnish the drill motor though they offer a couple of DeWalt units that should do the trick. I already have some serious drills and just purchased the augers.

I got one of those and it works pretty good if you have well turned soil in an established bed. Hit some rocks or roots and the wrists will hurt for a couple of days.

You just have to pull it up and down to clear the dirt. Also.. get it spinning before you put it in the ground!
@Wallabynge
@Wallabynge 3 года назад
I have a suspicion that the cyclone hand augers are a lot faster because they have a tamper in the middle that allows for clay removal. I have recently been using a petrol powered one, and it suffers from two problems (1) leaves all the dirt in the ground (2) spurts fumes in your face (3) mashes your arms up.

Hi, Thanks for watching. I have found the Ryobi gets the dirt out of the ground really well and obviously no fumes. You have to be careful though as it can spin while holding it so you need to be careful.

@@countrylifeonthecoast4167 Thanks. I ordered a Ryobi auger from bunnings, and also got a hedge trimmer, because my bush block has turned into a hedge, after the fires and drought regrowth.

In the instructions video, they say you should let it get up to speed before jamming it into the ground, and keep it spinning when you pull it out every 10 seconds to spin the dirt away. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ahq7BIt8UAk.html

You are right and I have found that this sometimes works depending on the soil type. I have put out another video on this tool after now using it to dig more than 100 holes. Hi, how many holes(proximity half of blade) it does per charge? Thank you
@countrylifeonthecoast4167
@countrylifeonthecoast4167 3 года назад
Hi. It will really depend on what your ground is like. In heavy clay (our place) and with only a 2.5Ah battery (I know I need to use at least a 5Ah) I can only get 4 or so holes at 600 or 700mm depth. Ryobi say you can get 40 holes at 400mm depth with a 5Ah battery. Hope that helps. Thanks for watching.

I have some Ryobi tools both 18 volts and 36 volts that are not much better than rubbish but to have an 18-volt auger, not on your nelly.

Baa Haaa 11:15 in I notice you dug the rock out with a crow bar lol. The petrol ones dig the rocks out ok, 2 man job though. Ryobi has a new 36v auger might be better, for rocks. :)

I got one, serious don't buy it, because if you hit the rock or root it stopped, if soil is hard it stop, so in the end I needs use hand tool digger finish the job, after that I exchange to petrol Roybi Post digger

TIM from Canada I can tell you right now this Ryobi auger will never come to Canada you will never buy this at the Home Depot in Canada let me tell you why.... 85% of Ryobi tools that are promoted in the USA or in the UK will never come to Canada this is the way it is set up... I can see why this ryobi auger is shit cannot even dig a straight hole without barking up.. I have been telling people for years the Ryobi brand has no power it is not worth the money they are charging for these tools... I can tell you right now Ryobi brand in Canada is three times the price that it is in USA or UK... you would never get a Ryobi commercial like this coming out of Canada.. if I can tell you one thing and one thing only save your money put your money in (Milwaukee power tools )this brand is far superior over everyone else this is the brand that is going to make it you have the M 18 brand and then you have the M 12 brand both out of Milwaukee but the only downside is you need to different brands of batteries to run these tools.... The only downside I see from the major brands of tools Milwaukee Dewalt Makita these brands have different types of tools which you need different types of batteries... do you not know why you cannot stick with the same type of battery that runs all your brands for example Dewalt has two different kinds of batteries for different kinds of tools this is a downside. Keep your money do you not invest in Ryobi tools
@makatogonzo
@makatogonzo 2 года назад
Yes but that's in the US/Canada. I think Milwaukee is only about 50% more than Ryobi at Home Depot? The price difference between Milwaukee and Ryobi elsewhere in the world is much more. Same parent company. The price discrimination is a rort.
@sociopathmercenary
@sociopathmercenary Год назад
Maybe you get a different line of tools in Canada. I have about 12 different Ryobi and a half a dozen batteries. Haven't had one fail and they've been perfectly up to any job I've done with them. Granted, I use them for DIY and I'm not too demanding but I know their limits and that's well within my needs. Not going to argue that the professional Milwaukee, DeWalt, Makita, etc are great tools but I don't make money with my tools and they're completely overkill for what I do. Hope you find something that works well for you too

TIM from Canada as I can see with most RYOBI TOOLS And batteries they do not have The power to do the jobs they are billed for the RYOBI brands and shit They are good for one thing leave them in the store I know I have the Ryobi brand and I am not impressed with what I have this brand is a waste of money

Nah ryobi definitely fills the need in the market. You have to have the right tool for the job. Would I use ryobi on my jobsites with other guys no. Would I highly recommend ryobi to my friends not in the trades yes absolutely.

TIM from Canada. By the looks of it stay away from Ryobi tools The Ryobi auger. It’s not worth the money to invest in this. If the Ryobi company is going to make a tool that to make a post hole digger invest in the time to make something worthwhile than right... The Ryobi company has crappy tools. Stay away.. I know I have invested in Ryobi worst thing I have ever done. I have wasted so much money on these tools.. these are crap this is just my opinion from someone who has Ryobi I will not be getting this tool not worth the money
@timnash6870
@timnash6870 3 года назад
Tim from Canada I have found that the Ryobi brand is nothing but garbage I have the leaf blower and the weedeater they are not worth the money I paid for them the only reason I got them is because when I bought the weedeater it come with the battery and this is what I was looking for... then I was looking for another battery for the same weedeater in Canada stuff is so expensive... for the amount of money they wanted for a 4 Ah. Battery $50 more I got four tools and two batteries for the same price it would’ve cost me to buy one battery and $150 Canadian.... for tools two batteries and big charger $199 Canadian.. this price is going up $100 it is now almost $300 to buy the same kit in Canada... it will vary if there is deals but usually about $300... this is why I have a real stink for the Ryobi brand of tools.. if it was my way I would’ve stayed away from this crappy brand of tool along time ago.
