Way too expensive. I already have plenty of the portable ryobi inverters so I can go and spend $15 for a bug zapper and plug it into that and carry it wherever I want so the only thing this really offers is a portable light and a carry handle which doesn't seem too strong - I'll buy this when they have it down to$39.99!

I am invested in the Ridgid line due to inheriting tools after a dude died when I was starting out. Honestly Ryobi holds up in the trades (know a few that use industrially/used in basement remodels for years) and I would have liked to be invested in that line for the sheer number of products they offer (including concrete mixers!) at inexpensive prices. I am happy with my Ridgid regardless.

Mosquitoes are not attracted to ultraviolet (UV) light in the same way as other insects, and UV light traps and bug zappers are not very effective for mosquito control. In fact, some studies have shown that night-biting mosquitoes avoid UV and blue light during the day. However, some UV-LED light traps have been shown to capture nocturnal mosquitoes.

I bought one about a year ago. It works! It works as a lantern! It works as a bug ATTRACTOR!!! This brings the bugs from the far reaches. It shocks em and they fall down to the tray. This is where it gets interesting. Open the tray and larger bugs recover from the initial shock and fly off. Don't waste your money. You buy this you better stock up on Cutter or Off insect repellent. Mosquitoes are attracted to carbon dioxide not lights. Sorry I bought this one.

Anyone that goes camping or tailgating will appreciate this toy as much as the guy working in the garage late at night and getting eaten by skeeters and other biters. I have a lot of house flies for some reason got this to carry around the house to problem areas that might not have a convenient outlet to plug an AC unit into. Haven't caught any bugs yet but I have faith and the lantern feature is also useful. hopefully if you contact ryobi they'll send you a new handle or heck you could make your own from a strip of leather use the original as a template.

I can't believe that I'm saying this but that's pretty cool, too bad it's too expensive. It needs to be half that price then I'd pick one up. I don't know what's going on with Ryobi, not Reeobi, but they have been pricing themselves right out of my market lately.

I want to get one. But I'm not willing to drive 3 hours to the closest store taht has one. I love this idea though because if it is battery powered, then the power consumption is low enought that I can DIY a solution to add solar power supplementation so this can just run remotely non-stop. I think i'll 3d print something so I can add some cheap batteries and make it able to run all night too.

I have thousands of dollars of Ryobi stuff. - I'm not sure I'll spend another dime with them. Recently I purchased a crosscut whipser mower. Loved every moment of it. Unfortunately, it broke within weeks of having it. some type of controller electrical issue (manufacturing defect.) Because it was outside of the Home Depot warranty period, I had to get Ryobi involved. This means that TTI is involved not so much Ryobi because Ryobi will say "sorry, once TTI the RLC has it, its up to them" ---- That is problem number one by the way. It spent one month at Home Depot and they figured they couldn't fix it. It then spent 6 days short of 90 days at the RCL with parts that were back ordered not to show up until March which would be 5 months after the RCL got the mower and 6 months since I sent it to Home Depot for repair. I spent days arguing with TTI. This was absolutely abhorrent. Ryobi was hands off, said they can't do anything about it. After battling for days, finally getting Home Depot to share some data, it forced TTI to recognize they will be outside their 90 day window. They are sending a new mower. Long and short: The brand new lawn mower failed. It took 3 months to get answers and if I didn't push would have been over 5 months. Ryobi themselves couldn't care less what their repair side was doing. Because of this, as my Ryobi eqt. fails, I will be switching to something else. I will never again spend a dime on Ryobi stuff. Cheap tools, breaking tools and customer service that couldnt care less, repair houes that couldnt care less.... this is a common "death rattle" of a company. If this place isn't turned around soon, Ryobi will be the new Harbor Freight of tools and they'll slowly be gone.

Very nice and handy "non tool". For those individuals who want a way to "plug it in" find a dead Ryobi battery, gut it, add a switching DC power supply that can provide 18 volts DC at 5 amps and install it in the battery shell takin care of polarity. This recommendation is not for the ignorant hobbyist but for those who have the necessary skills to work with line voltage equipment. Oh and use of such adapters WILL VOID YOUR WARRANTY.

I want one but I'm not liking the short term battery life. If I'm entertaining a party outside on the deck, I don't wanna have to worry about having to change the battery 🪫 while I'm drunk.

if you're outside longer than six hours that's a helluva party just get a six hour battery.

Sally throws some Hellacious parties though. They usually far surpass the 6-hour mark. I once dropped in for a Friday night bash and I found out it had been going on since the previous Friday.

These end up killing a bunch of good bugs along with the mosquitos. Just get a thermacell if you want mosquitos to go away.

hopefully someone can show a video of how to clean this thing after it's gotten filthy from killing hundreds of bugs in a night. do they stick to the UV bulb? this is the main reason that the other electric Solutions fail early because the insides get filthy in the system overheats.

I would feel safe using CRC or some similar electronics cleaner to clean the gunk out of it. I didn't look too close when it was apart but the bulb appears socketed wonder what the lifespan is/should be.

I want to run this bug killer 16 hours a day for a multi-day camp don't have all the batteries to do this so want to run a generator and use the AC power off of that.

I thought it was Rye-Obi until the guy from "Ree-Obi" customer care pronounced it that way but I prefer the say it how it's spelled. "Ryobi"
