So basically he used effects to do the synth. Effects are allowed in loop stations along with a second device which makes even crazier sounds.

Yeah layebak in every loopstation reaction you've done so far, every beatboxer has used effects in some sort to make their music. There are effects on the loopstation you can use, but every sound is sampled from the mouth.

The sound effect he was using is synth I believe. It can alter your voice inputs. This is common in loop station. It’s not cheating. Most people use voice effects. It’s impossible to cheat on these battles cuz judges make sure the equipment is set up.
