okay seriously, why does everyone think they can mess with Kiryu or his close friends/family and get away with it clean? the dude is a one man army, capable of taking gunshots and stabbings then doing stupid tough fights while freely bleeding and still win almost every time. at this point everyone should be like "okay they connected to Kiryu? FECK IT!!!! NOT WORTH THE HASSLE!" i mean seriously! there is a reason he has kept his legendary status for this long, yet every stupid evil dude thinks they can take him. i know arrogance plays a large part here, but they barely give him any credit "people like the dragon of Dojima went out of fashion a long time ago" yeah, and why do you think the dragon and mad dog are still around? CAUSE THEY ARE NOT TO BE FECKED WITH
Thi...this is a joke, right? Yeah, it's all a joke...K-Kazuma's gonna recover and he's...he's gonna be with Haruka again...and it'll be all a big dramatic scene with a...w-with a twist ending...'cause the last time...he made it in the hospital... ...h-he's gonna be alright...he has to be... ;_;
8:50 I love how the just use Haruto as a football there. Makes me wonder if they're gonna make a HEAT move using him :') Also what's with all these fucks in the comment going about Haruka being their 'waifu'? At no point should ANY dedicated Yakuza player ever consider as something other than your virtual daughter. So just face it, y'all are grandparents now!
A thought occurs. "I want to become a man who you will be unashamed to call 'family'" _slightly_ conflicts with "I'm going to found my own clan and have huge brawls in the streets". Because she's in a coma doesn't make it okay, Kiryu. It reminds me of Majima's "the weak must make way for the strong" spiel _slightly_ conflicting with "I have enough willpower/spirit/whatever to make fucking shadow clones of myself to fight you with".
Haha, to be fair the "make a clan" thing isn't canon :P It's just one of the mini-game things you can do on the side. But yeah, Kiryu should really think these things through. "I know I should be protecting Haruka's son and getting to the bottom of what happened to Haruka, but I feel like starting a massive 100 vs 100 gang war. That definitely won't result in me going back in jail"
Well at least some of the sidequests have to be canon like the enka singer one in Y2. Is the "Another Life" stuff called that because it's meant to be like an alternate reality thing?
robert23456789 Yeah and they also had the name 'Kazuma' even though pretty much everyone calls him 'Kiryu' or 'Kiryu-san'. Basically, it seems to me the localization team was not as on their game here as with later releases.
The writer for 1 and 2 didn't force bullshit melodrama, and retarded shit like rubber bullets as twists just for the sake of having a tweeest. When Shinji died in 1, Kiryu was mad, but he didn't cry like a little girl like he did in 3 when you know who died. I'll also never forgive the new writer for killing off Kashiwagi and getting rid of Kaoru, even though they made a fucking model for her. Sean G
Ayy Rurikki I actually think 1's story is the worst, but 2's is the best so far imo. If I had to order it I'd go: 2 > 4 > Kenzan > 3 >= 1. I'm playing 5 atm
I don't know if the Chinese mafia will actually be called the "Jiwang Clan" in the game, as I translated it in this video. I just used the Mandarin Chinese reading for it. Made sense to me to use the Chinese reading since they are a Chinese gang. They might end up using the Japanese reading though, or perhaps the Cantonese reading, so who knows? The important thing is that there's some mafia gang from China showing up.
Well the last time there was a Chinese gang they translated the name straight into English for the western release, but Yakuza 1's localization was a little weird like that. If they were making it today they'd probably have it as .
I wasn't thinking in terms of the English version, I was thinking about how the name would be read in the Japanese version of the game - whether it will use a Chinese reading or a Japanese reading.
Reminds me of this manga where a Japanese girl gets magically transported into a Chinese storybook but everyone in the storybook world has Japanese names which the manga's author explained by saying the storybook had been translated to Japanese. I thought it was funny.
After all that Ryuji went through, I'm seriously thinking that he has a some of Big Boss' genes. One man against the world (or in Ryuji case, the underworld). Solid Snake and Ryuji together, not even an army of metal gear could take them down...
I'm a little surprised to see a trailer that's 11 minutes long but still leaves enough mystery to make you want to play the game. Good translation, too.
Has Daigo done anything right in the games, i'm being serious here I can't come up with anything that he has done which has profited the tojo clan in some way?
He helped find the bombs the Jingweon set around Kamurocho in Yakuza 2. Also helped Kiryu get the land for his orphanage or something in Yakuza 3 (and then is shot and put into a coma which drives Mine a little insane). And also kept Kiryu's relocation to Fukuoka a secret so no one would bother him in Yakuza 5 (people found and bothered him anyway, including Daigo himself). So he did like 1 and a half things right.
He did quite a few things right: RGG2: Kept the clan together when most of the lieutenants were assassinated and kept morale high (while also helping with the bombs) RGG3: Helped Kiryu keep his the land for the orphanage and resisted when pressure was put on him to do things the bad way (was shot for it). RGG4: is the bad guy so mostly nah RGG5: Smart enough to slip away from Tojo-kai while people on the inside wanted to get him replaced, helped find Tatsuo who uncovered part of the plan in the clan war, found out about Kurosawa etc So yeah, Daigo has done a few things right. Wish people would stop ragging on the poor guy just because of his poor decision in RGG4. I hope the writers do him justice in this game, he's a good guy sigh
i'm sorry, that comment makes it seem like i hate daigo, i really don't it's just a shame the writers keep making him a fuck up and making kiryu correct all those fuck ups, i want to see the dude do well but the writers just seem to hate him, which is a shame.
"In the absence of the Sixth Chairman" oh where the hell is Daigo and what is he screwing up now? He better not be hanging out with Shinada again :| I can't be the only person who thinks the guy at 5:37 looks like Satoru Iwata. Also what is up with the texture on that building at 3:05? It looks like it's coated in bacon.
Looks like Yuta is the father. He personally knows her and got upset about her accident. I know that's not much to go off on, but he definitely is the father.
Yeah, the texturing in these games has always been mediocre. Guess that's supposed to be red brick, but they copypasted the same texture tile over and over so from afar it looks like many slices of bacon.
So this is finally the end soon huh.... AW MAAAAANNNN. The game is going to be so freaking epic. Haruka has a fricking kid, holy shit, totally unexpected af. These guys who make this haven't even released a yakuza game that has disappointed me ONCE. After watching the story trailer and the other half of the tgs trailer. This game is going to be the beast. I'm refraining from buying the Japanese version, I don't want to play through the game, not knowing on what's going on and stuff. Yakuza 6 is too important for that. I honestly hope they start translating the game as soon as they have finished with Yakuza Zero.. Waiting 2-3 years is going to be a pain but it's worth it. And a final note: I honestly hope that the last sentence doesn't hint to us that Kiryu is going to die. I hope he can live his last years in peace with everyone in Okinawa ;(
9:39 Well, that's interesting. So Hirose was a Heizo Iwami's Right hand man, and Heizo are probably ex-Yakuza? before he make himself as a CEO? that's why Hirose Wearing same uniform as Iwami Shipbuilding's Henchmens in Trailer.
I thank you for sharing a translation of the video, I am immensely excited for the game to arrive in 2018. I am curious if more sequels will continue, which character will be the main protagonist next.
Sean G: Can u imagine if Saejima and Akiyama were playable characters in yakuza 6 there heat action will be super cool just like Kiryu but there style Holy shit i can see it right now!
Im still going through Kiwami atm. Thanks for the subtitles! I hope that Majima gets some cutscenes too! I wonder if well see that lady Majima saved in 0 again...
Daigo's out... though I wonder, what happened to Majima and Saejima? There's discussion that Majima's in prison with Kiryu, but what about Saejima? Prison again?
Given what Haruka was saying, starting from 2:06, would it be possible that, we'll play as her, sans dance battles ala 5, prior to her getting run over?
I don't know entirely since I didn't play it, but it seems like a history repeat of Yakuza 1's conflict driving the plot, and that's cool af. A child that is the lead to a secret, and the mother killed or an attempted murder to get rid of her.
Sean G Well like in Yakuza 1 where Haruka had the secret to obtaining the Millenium tower money, this baby she's "had" unlocks the secret of the gang in Hiroshima. The way how history is repeating itself and Yakuza 6's subtitle is "Poetry of Life", it's almost like saying Kazuma was already dead after the events of Yakuza 1, like he has to die this time.
Sean G Was gonna mention that, I don't think it's hers. Taking care of a random child is a very Kiryu thing to do (Yakuza 1), and Haruka has absorbed a lot of him and his ideals, I think she'd definitely help a baby in trouble. If it is, alright, but who knows right now.
Sean G I wanna say the dude with white hair, but in the recent Ryu Ga Gotoku games, it's always someone who plays initially a minor role and seems very trustworthy from the few times you do see him.
Damn... when you put it like that... It made me so sad... but in the same time it make so much sense. I do actually thought this RGG6 is repeating the history of 1.
To this day I'm very surprised Haruka survived that hit and run. Kiryu has taken bullets, gotten smacked by a iron pipe from an old man on a Motorcycle, and tortured by the jing, but god damn Haruka might be stronger than him when it comes to Haruto
Others are too obvious actually. Yuta is a perfect example as betrayal due his wit and personality, maybe his edgy look too. But my bet goes to Katsumi and Koji, they look old but they are far more experienced than Kiryu and might even stronger and smarter than their looks. And lets dont forget that Joji, Shimano, Kuze, Awano, Saejima and even Kiryu is old but still were a bomb.
Well, almost in every game there is a guy like Kanji. Tough, cold blood, hated to the guts assassin. For example; Arase in 1, Richardson in 3, Kanai in 5, Lao Gui in 0. But eventually they end up as secondary villain and henchmen. Btw, i wrote Hirose as a joke xD I think we can expect things from Beat Takeshi as a villain too.
Still no idea what happened here. Looks amazing but from Yakuza 0 to Yakuza 1 then 2 then 3, I loved the story. Once they started yakuza 4 with a bunch of other characters I didn't care about I lost where I was at.. Why is poor little Haruka looking after a child, how did Kazuma survive that stab wound ?(Granted the amount of times I was shot throughout the games it probably doesn't matter) Why was Yakuza 4 so bad? WHY?
Kinda obvious that the baby is not Haruka's son. She's pretty much follow what Kiryu did back in the first game by protecting the child that is valuable to someone and misleading everyone.
Sean G I'm willing to bet that she knows. I caught a scene between Kiyomi and Takumi that I thought it's kinda weird. It looks like they knew each other or they loved each other but their status sets them apart. A yakuza and a bartender. Obviously, that baby is going be adopted by Haruka just like Kazuma adopted her. Since this will be the last story arc for Kazuma and Haruka, it's almost like a nod to the first game with how the story goes with some changes here and there. - Kazuma was sent to the prison. - Shocked that Yumi had a daughter. - Haruka was valuable to the clan. - Kazuma protected Haruka.
Remember, this is a very serious game were you fish, karaoke, take selfies in a mascot costume, make youtube videos with a certain youtuber (from a certain side story) and attract cats. Oh, and did I mention this was a serious game?
OK see I'm not understanding this why would you play as all the previous protagonists but not Kiryu? They didn't start the yakuza series so why would they finish it? Kiryu was the one who started it all so he should be the one to end the whole series without Kiryu the main yakuza series wouldn't be yakuza anymore. Now the situation with Harkua I'm not sure about her I'm pretty sure most likely she would pull through. I hope not but Kiryu might die because that's his only redemption from his curse and burden the yakuza it might end just like something similar to yakuza kenzan.
I know the guy is dead and all, but am I only one who wants the character in 6:08 to be Nishitani from yakuza 0? Considering his suit, weapon of choice and his voice, which might've changed a little.
After watching it again, I think Yuta is the father of Haruto. 8:21 he says "He put his hands on Haruka before I even realised it." This concludes two options in my mind: Yuta is Haruka's boyfriend and he is the father; or someone kidnapped Haruka and raped her, made her pregnant. The second option is a bit controversial and I dont want it to happen...
But... Then... However... Meanwhile... Yet... And... Also... How many times has Kiryu been in jail? Oh yeah is Yakuza 6 poetry or song? Those of us introduced to the series with Yakuza 0 have been spoiled. But then a list by someone who's played every game ranked it as number one. Yakuza 0 the beginning of both Kiryu and Goro's stories. Unbelievable battles. A Premium Adventure with a 2nd story for each. One of the most fun as well as funniest games I've played. I give it a 9 1/2 only demerit is for the sheer number of minigames especially those that are required to either get a hostess or hold on to properties. I looked forward to Kiwami. Hey $25!!! I get it decent but short story. Premium Adventure? There is none. One of the best child characters in a game Haruka turns into a whiny brat. I have to walk, hold her hand and continually get her something and when I do she immediately wants something else. This is not the kid I took into the dice game and predicted the outcome correctly each time until the guy uses a Swiss army die. I give it a 7.
8:23 so,the father of that child is this guy?or maybe i'm wrong..but,somehow i got the feeling he is the father though.. btw he is the guy from Death Note live action movie..
You know what guys if i had to guess who is the father of haruto i say its the youngster with the white suit thats runnig tojo clan but that just a guess....
