It actually is canon! It's in the mini comic series that introduced JP and gave Luke some backstory. JP convinced Ken to invest in Crypto and other unstable things to help boost a developing country, but then JP stole all his money, blew a bunch of shit up, and blamed everything on Ken.

Hey, Aleks just wanted to say thanks for the funnies over the course of the year. Last few weeks I was in the hospital and now I am taking meds/ antibiotics to treat my infection.
