I don't necessarily know how to cook. Ryu's recipes inspires me to at least try . . . He makes it look doable and fun . . . Thank you for sharing your gift and talent 😊 God bless you always 🙏
I thought he was going to give us some cool tips and trick on how to make the egg thing, but I guess texture wise, it's basically just a scrambled egg shaped nicely anyway.
As an Indonesian who cooks Nasi Goreng almost everyday since childhood, i've got some bones to pick with this: - He claimed using instant rice for fried rice is perfect: A BIG NO. ALWAYS use leftover rice that's cold and hard. - He put green onion at the start: WRONG. The green onion should be garnished at the end, putting it at the beginning will make it all wrinkled and burnt, no matter the heat level. It's not meant to be "cooked". - He claims that it will taste like a Southeast Asian fried rice, in this case nasi goreng. But nasi goreng mainly uses soy sauce, salt, MSG, and petis/shrimp paste (optional)...not ketchup, oyster sauce & that weird chili powder/oil.
Honey, If you've been watching Sooyoung on funstaurant since beginning, you would know, that every recipe he makes has gone through countless failures before he finds the perfect ratio, this guy here doesn't just create and cook perfect simple dishes , but have done serious research. Please keep in mind that rice in Korea is different from rice in Indonesia, if you watched his old videos, he once explained why did he rather choose to use instant rice than leftover rice, and cooking the green onions first is what they usually do to get the oil and aroma from it. Also, he only said that it will taste like Nasi Goreng, he didn't said that he will use the exact recipe of it, because herbs & spices in Indonesia is slightly different with herbs & spices in Korea, that's why he did a research to get the same taste by creating his own recipe. Simply to said; he's doing a replica by using what they (korean) can easily found in their kitchen.
Mbak, di jawatimur (mostly) nasi gorengnya merah pakai saos tomat🙂. Coba googling, belajar lebih banyak tentang nasi goreng. Saya setuju dengan komen mbak pearl1446.
1. Koreans use instant rice very often for all their cooking as they live alone and dont cook a big amount unless needed to with their families. Most use instant rice and he is just showing a simple recipe for people to make quick meals, not an authentic nasi goreng 2. Frying green onions is similar to cooking garlic and ginger, it provides added depth of flavour to the dish. These ingredients are called aromatics and should be cooked if they wish to add extra flavour. What he is doing is not burning or wrinkling spring onion, but rather making spring onion oil. If spring onions were not meant to be cooked, are very recipe out there that mentions to heat up/cook/fry spring onion = wrong? 3. Notice how Hyojung was the one who concluded it was Nasi Goreng while he only mentioned Southeast Asian fried rice. There are may variety of fried rice here in asia alone and towards the end u can clearly see he is trying to make a simplified omurice recipe. Also that weird chili powder/oil is a korean traditional ingredient, he never mentioned nasi goreng recipe at all. This isnt some 'Accurate authentic food recipe' show, he helps enlighten viewers with his food knowledge and experience to make it easy for people who live alone to try out with ease without needing to splurge.
