No matter how many years have past the original Ryu's theme from Street Fighter 2 gets me pumped and amped. I guess it is the nostalgia of it all. Great video as usual.
@@esketitesketit1658 Lowkey USF4 did not have this level of complexity. Ryun has access to combos after Shin Shoryuken along with air follow ups and all kinds of shit. The possibilities are limitless. While I think USF4 is the last decent fighter we have gotten save for MVCI (gameplay wise) and SC6, it will never reach the amount of blabbing required to play the Ryu or Akuma in this video.
Watching this felt like a movie! I am highly impressed to the details of the the back and forth struggle between these two epic characters! This video is absolutely amazing!
Though technically it's not a dark power at all. The Satsui no Hadou is fueled by what you desire most. For Akuma, that's a fight to the death against the best. For Ryu? To BE the best. That's why it's particularly dangerous for him. According to the lore, the Founder of Ansatsuken (The Style they use) was able to completely master the Satsui no Hadou. Ryu's Master couldn't, and developed his own variant called Surge of Nothingness that draws power from absence of all worldly attachments. So really, it's not a dark power at all. It has the potential to be based upon users strongest desire.
"Still haven't transcended humanity, eh? You lack discipline." "You haven't transcended your humanity, you've thrown it away!" "Hmm...Prepare to meet your maker!"
Akuma: When will you realize the true power of the Satsui No Hado, boy!? If you won't tap into your true self then I'll put you out of your misery!!! Ryu: I'll never give in to evil, If you desire a battle then I'll give you everything I have! Let's go!!!
ever since the Justin wong and daigo moment, any time ryu techs anything extensive it gets me sooooo fkn hype. I wish the actual SF was half as godly as this mod
Fun, but untrue. Akuma learned the same Ansatsuken, but studied under a different master, and as such his philosophy is different from that of Ryu or Ken.
I love that theory so much! I heard that Rose actually brought Akuma from that alternate timeline to inspire Ryu to stay motivated and away from the Satsui no Hado. This allowed Ryu to be powerful enough to fight Gill in SF3
@@rishabhbhatnagar9632 Canon in the actual games, not comics or OVAs? Ryu has held him off in Alpha but Akuma was holding back to test him. I don't think his destined battle has happened yet. Knowing Capcom they never will, to milk more money out of everyone.
@@rishabhbhatnagar9632 The death battle lied in case you didnt know, the manga isnt canon and even then Akuma gace Ryu some chances to hit too, else he was wiping the floor with him
@@KamenKami They fought like 2 times, in SF2 Akuma held back, in SF5 Ryu even at full power with the Mu no Ken stood no chance to him, Akuma sounded disappointed after that
Stylin Woodard Oh that would be good too. I meant having an over the top action game with an only Capcom crossover. But having more depth would actually be a great touch if they can pull off great balancing.
poor bison. getting murked anytime akuma decides he wants to fight someone instead. ryu wasnt even surprised. tightening his headband thinking 'poor bison, he aint even gonna see it coming - as always'
I love the use of Ryu 's original music( drums of war) on his stage with the epic Akuma entrance on a moonlight sky .........you can feel the intensity when the music starts. All of the cast of SF2 original music is so epic and brings out the authenticity of the character. I wish the modern street fighter games would have it as an option to use with modern graphics.
I wish they made it Canon that Ryu was indeed Akuma's(Gouki) son!!! Loved this fight took me back to when I was a kid and Street Fighter just came out lol...
That fight was awesome. Loved the transformation from regular to shin to oni. Granted his dmg output didn't seem to move an inch. But Ryu was on the path with a clear mind. Epic battle. Thanks for sharing.
This is a great video. Ryu finally beat Akuma on his own terms. I liked how Ryu fought and defeated Akuma in all of his three forms while still in his base form. By the way what version of Ryu is this?
Ryu vs. Akuma the most important fight in Street Fighter Ryu would finally beat Akuma whenever he's strong enough this was a great video seeing Ryu beat Akuma in all his forms 🙌
