Just my opinion, but a lot of this artificial tension and drama in anime has always been certified forced cliche to me, one way or another. They always take the most contextual stuff ever, then give it suggestive and/or ambiguous wordings and sentencing when spoken out loud by others. So many of these conflicts can easily be solved with better communication too. Like if the listeners bother to listen all the way, or the speakers can for once be completely honest in the things they say to avoid using such wordings that beat around the bush (the opposite of which just so happens to be a trend/character trait in slice of life anime, tbh). Even if it's for comedic reasons, it's been done to death at this point, and a part of me dies inside every time it happens.

But I think we can always alternate genres which we watch, adding an anime which has a strong plot, less beating around the bush, and a little comedy just to lighten the mood every now and then. I'm pretty sure everyone will get tired of the same kinds of jokes that are used in love comedies, and same kinds of scenarios in slice of life anime if we watch them in a continuous progression.

And when you grow up raising a kid 40-60% of their life alongside your mother, you start to develop an odd mix of annoyance via sibling and love as a guiding figure. Life is strange... And unfair. Prejudice against men is severe when it comes to child-care. Watching your kid at a park? Creepy dude. Giving your adorable little girl a smooch on the cheek and a firm hug? Fukkin perverse old man.
