This helped me a lot; I just installed this same cpu on relatively the same mobo. Now I gotta save up for the gpu, ram, power, storage, and case. So excited!
Very cool, I have done the same thing many times, I buy parts when they go on sale, and buy then, takes a bit of time but worth the savings...All the Best...Thanks...
Great video and channel, I installed my 3700x last night! Thanks for your help and very very easy to follow video! I initially watched another video, but they didn't go over the cables for the RGB lights at all, so I didn't even install them at first. You rock!
Glad my video was abIe to help you out! Appreciated the kind words, and great job on your installation, enjoy your new CPU and have fun...take care and all the very best...Thanks...
My processor just arrived today and in fact it is the very same one you reviewed. I actually watched this video when i was still planning my build, and now that i have the item in hand i needed a refresher, and this helped, was also taking notes so i will remember everything.
This was incredibly helpful, thank you for making this video. I was so worried about breaking that little clip because I felt I was applying too much pressure.
Excellent insight, you clearly know how to teach. Please do the other video you mentioned. You're helping people learn something new while we all hunker down. Thanks a million Dennis.
Did the BIOS video and went over many aspects of the BIOS in more detail, glad you like it and appreciate your great comments...Stay Safe and have a fantastic week...Thanks...
THANK YOU! You are a great man. Cut my finger trying to get the metal around the black part so I am literally putting my blood sweat and tears into this thing
Sorry you cut your finger, those things can happen not a common thing to happen with the CPU Cooler though, otherwise hope it all went ok...take care of yourself...
This is a so underrated channel, i love your content and the way in which you explain, believe me you help a looot of people with this, keep the nice work!!
youre such a sweet man, i see you responding to every comment and thats so nice! im getting my motherboard and case this week, ill try it and report back if i have any struggles. Thank you!
@@Reviewing_Playing_and_More_RPM i put everything together, my pc works amazing! put the cooler in with a breeze thanks to this guide. i cant thank you enough!
Yeah it's a poor design by AMD imo, they need to make some change to this as there have been some that have broken it...I've done it twice now and learnt that carefully applying enough even pressure makes it easier to flip the lever but both times it was the same for me, wondering if it might break, thankfully not so far...glad you got it down ok though...Take Care...Thanks...
@@Reviewing_Playing_and_More_RPM It seems to be easier if you loosen the brackets and then connect the lever and flip it, then screw the brackets back down tight.
This is exactly what I was looking for when I look up guide to ryzen 7 3700x. Thank you soo much for making this, its helping me great understanding this cpu.
Thank you for this video! I've been happily using my 3700x for two years but am migrating to a different case and will be using the cooler it came with for the first time--I built a SFF pc and have been using a Noctua cpu cooler because the stock cooler was too big--the new case will be able to use the Wraith cooler and I cannot find my original install instructions. And the two "extra" cables in the box were just confusing me. Thanks to your thoroughness, I now understand what they are for. And that I don't need to worry about them since I don't really care about "RGB" much. Well done, sir!
Thank you there is no tutorial for installing 3900x the same way you do. The whole youtube is lacking such video, plenty of lame unboxing but no video of putting the cooler on. Thanks a lot.
I am currently in the market for a new PC Gaming Build. I know I am getting this CPU for sure because all signs point to it being a tank. Although, I am terrified of the whole process because I don't know much about current gen and it's been 13 years since my last build. After watching your video, I am more confident I can get it done and the build wont be as stressful as I thought it would be. (At least the installing hardware part). Thank you for simplifying everything while also being detailed in the process. There are many teachers who don't possesses that talent. Again, thank you for this video!
I just finished watching your video. Very good, thank you! Just an FYI The MOBO i'm getting is a ASUS TUF B550+. I assume most of installation follows the same logic and steps.
Hi Dennis, Another great video! Your channel is terrific. About the fan speed switch on the Wraith Prism: It is actually a RPM cutoff switch. If you set it to low, the maximum RPMs is about 2900; set to high, max RPMs are around 3700. I recommend the high setting, because you can then tune the fan curve in BIOS to get maximum cooling under high CPU load, and maximum quiet otherwise. In other words, you have greater software control of the fan with no downside. I do notice a few degree lower temps under load when allowing the fan to spin up all the way to 3700 rpm.
Reviewing Playing & More RPM i have a question about the cooler. does it need the USB to have the RGB? i don’t really intend on changing anything besides fan speed. does it just cycle rainbow colors without any interference?
@@ashtonyaklin6836 Without the USB it won't work with the Wraith Prism Software, with the RGB it didn't work for me but it's been awhile it might now, it'll work without USB, and RGB if you want it that way as long as the CPU Cooler cable is plugged into the CPU Fan Header it'll still work...not sure if it would then cycle through the RGB Colors though never thought to try that might check it out and see sometime...hope that answers your question...Thanks...
Reviewing Playing & More RPM my 3700x is on its way right now, i’ll test it too. maybe they worked out that RGB cable thing. i’m just hopeful that the cable isn’t needed because that looks like a hassle to cable manage.
@@ashtonyaklin6836 Well if you use the USB and the Wraith Prism Software it'll work great, but yeah I'd prefer to use the cable provided but it is difficult to cable manage...give it a try and appreciate if you let me know if you can...take care...Thanks...
Great guide, would love to see a more complete guide to building a computer (like the steps you editted out to actually get it to boot up on your screen). I'm a complete noob and your style of teaching seems to help me understand a lot more.
I did a video on the whole process, starting from first boot up, here's the link ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-lIM2bM0T0dw.html hope this will help...
Thanks for this video, it really helped me when changing termal paste for the first time :) It's still running pretty hot, 85c under load, but new paste dropped it from 95 lol Going to add more fans next, running the case open drops temps even more so I assume airflow is bad. Btw, the instructions for the USB cable were especially helpful!
I’ve just brought this and have tried installing it only to realise I have lost the brackets at some point (who knows how my last cooler stayed on), anyone have any advice on what to do or where I could find some new ones? 😭😭😭
You can get a new set from Amazon for about $7.00 that includes the entire set of screws and backplate, also you could get an aftermarket CPU Cooler as well.
Good informative video sir. I remember the days with socket A coolers that you had to take a flat head screw driver and jam it into a notch on the strap and press down towards the motherboard to get it to clip on. One slip and you literally stabbed a hole right through your motherboard...
Yeah I remember doing things that I did hit the motherboard and been lucky not to do damage, thankfully your right those days are mostly gone now...have a great day...Thanks...
Not sure what point in the video you're referring to but no dropping things is not something that should be done but it can happen. Maybe I'm watching Linus to much lol.
I installed this today and boy did it take me a while. At first I hooked the opposite side from where you started I and could not get the other side to connect even after applying force on the cooler and pulling on the hook thing (It did not help to pull ). It was a good 1/4 or an inch short. I was starting to think there was something wrong with mine So then I decided to hook the other side first. By doing that i finally got closer. Even after that i struggled a minute or two. It seems like the trick is to first hook the side with less mobility ( the shorter side ) and then apply pleasure on the cooler to make it leveled and pull on the bar. Basically what you did in this video. It does require to put some pressure on the cooler which was frightening because it was my first time and i did not want to damage the CPU or motherboard. I am am not telling people to put their whole body weight. Just apply pressure with your hand
@@Reviewing_Playing_and_More_RPM UPDATE:- had my R7 3700x awhile now WAY better than my old FX chip feels so snappy i love it and the cpu cooler works very very well for stock.
Dennis I just built my first computer I referred to this video a couple of times! I ran r20 for 5 minutes and was seeing about 65c. I replaced the stock thermal paste I am going to download this benchmark and see what my temps are!
@@Reviewing_Playing_and_More_RPM did you ever get the CPU cooler to give you a visual display of the temps? That's the only use I could see for having RGB- IMO.
@@justinpatterson5291 I did get the Temps to show using software in the video, and HWInfo and AIDA64 Extreme, but as to the RGB that is not for Temps it is merely a way to show colors for the CPU Cooler...for pure Estetics only...Thanks...
@@Reviewing_Playing_and_More_RPM yeah right. I must have missed that info. Well... I guess I could use it to theme match the MSI board. I mostly want the bling on screen. Not off the side being distracting.
Hey! I downloaded the software using the link in description but I am unable to proceed ahead of ''PLUG IN YOUR CM DEVICE TO GET STARTED'' window. There is no clickable option available. Love your content and explanation! Keep creating more such content. Cheers!
The message your getting usually mean the RGB cable is plugged in, but in some instances, one when it happened to me I turned off the system. Then unplugged the USB Cable, then start the system, let it run for a fews secs then turn it off. While it's now off plug back in the USB cable and ensure it's also connected to the MB and hopefully that will fix it...Glad you like the content...Thanks...
I have a lot of videos geared toward the first time builder, if you follow them you'll be good, it can be nerve wracking at times but as long as you take your time you'll be able to do it just fine...
great job, subbed, would like to see a stress on this heat sink,,was thinking of buying an upgrade,,unless this handles the test,,system still isnt built yet,,waiting on a few pieces,,gj brother
awesome video dude, really helpful. building my new PC in the morning and it's my first time putting my own one together. don't suppose you have any tips?
Main thing is take your time and don't rush, and if your unsure I have lots of different videos on building a PC that might help...good luck, and have fun with it...but be careful it's addicting once you build one, you won't want to stop lol...
Reviewing Playing & More RPM already want to do more with it haha, all I’m missing from the build is a gpu as I’m using my old 950 until I decide on a new one
@@CheifOfGaming I'm using a 950 in one of my builds as well, it's working great until I can get a new 3070 or 3080, once they fix the crashing issue's...
Reviewing Playing & More RPM yeah it’s not bad until you get a better one. Not going for the 3070/80 myself, waiting until they come out and getting a 2070/80 which should have gone down in price by then
Great video thank you! I searched Ryzen 7 3700X install as I am buying this CPU tomorrow, funnily enough was also planning to buy this exact same mobo as well! It's been about 6-7 years since I last built a PC and need something much faster. Question: what RAM are you using here? Is it glowing red? Or just how it looked in camera (at 22:08)?
It was just red on the outside, no RGB, just looked that way on camera...It was ADATA XPG 3200Mhz Ram...Have fun with your new PC once you have it built...all the best...Stay Safe...Thanks...
I'm not a fan of the CPU mounting system that AMD is using. It's a royal pain, and if you are remounting the CPU with a fresh application of thermal paste, it can potentially cause uneven distribution of paste.
I'd like them to have a different mounting system as well, I have replaced this CPU Cooler and used new Thermal Paste and the temps actually went down a small amount...
