The 3700x is going for around 100 bucks used right now, including the cooler. So it's basically the price of an i3, comes very close to beating it in a lot of games if not beating it, AND you get 8 cores. Unbeatable value.
Is the 3700x still good in 2024 now? I have a 2070 Super and would want to upgrade to 4070Ti Super...are the bottlenecks too bad? I had a thought to buy one of the 5000 series X3D processor but would the performance that high to justify the investment? Also 700W Bronze rated PSU would hold good incase if I want to upgrade to the new GPU?
The 3700x will bottleneck your 4070ti Super, yes, but, it is still a great combo for 2k and 4k. If you're playing in 1080p, stay as you are and don't upgrade your GPU.
@@notremarchedelafin thank you for the response. Yeah I play at 2K. I think I will wait for the next gen AMD processors to come for the next upgrade. I have upgraded the GPU and power supply though.
@@satishnair8704 I think a great move would be to upgrade your 3700x for a 5700x and skip a generation or 2. The improvement between 3700x and 5700x is massive.
I don’t understand why mine is performing worse than your setup, I have the exact same thing. Clean install of drivers, updated chipsets, motherboard is updated, normal temperatures, everything. Still underperforming. I don’t get it.
Hi @Harware Tested, I have a Nzxt 510elite cabinet, MSi carbon pro gaming X570 motherboard, Ryzen 7 3700x processor, 32gb tridentZ rams(16x2), I was using a MSi Gaming x trio 2070 super card, which died right on the last day of warranty :(. What GPU should I purchase that wont bottleneck by the existing config. Please help
an just think - on VRchat you are looking at an average of 50fps - low as CRASH an up to 144.. if it dont lock limit to 72 for no apparent reason :/ thanks for the comparisons an eye opener on how well it can run
I use the 3070 in this video with high graphical settings. That's probably the biggest reason to why you only get 340 in csgo. Try using msi afterburner to see what is bottlenecking your setup.
I’ve got a 3700x (on 240mm), paired w an MSI 3070 Gaming TRIO and 32gb G Skill 3200mhz ram. Use a WD Blue 1TB M.2 drive for windows + games. I play (or have played) many of the games you just benched, and my performance doesn’t even come close. RDR2 in the cities, I’m easily dipping below 100, into the 70’s on potentially-lower graphics (DX12 tho) and Fortnite stutters so badly I can’t even spin my mouse around without FPS dips into the high 60’s. Other games, like CSGO and R6 run fine, but those games I also see a 25% lower avg FPS. I’ve been trying to pinpoint what is wrong w my PC for a while now, so any suggestions of where to start, what to test, etc, would be extremely helpful. Liked the vid - subbed and all that. Peace.
Thanks for subbing mate! I would do the following: 1. Check if you have xmp enabled for your ram. 2. Download MSI Afterburner and look if anything is overheating or is bottlenecking your gaming performance. 3. Check if you have used the same settings as in the video. Also, it could be that the benchmarking tool for RDR2 isn't that correct for displaying the fps and that what you experience is the real fps you should get.
@@fadylaouini1206 3700x is completely fine either 1080p and 1440p upto rtx 3070ti/Rx 6750xt But is not ideal for rtx 3080/Rx 6800 above on1080p even if it's a 1440p monitor. Anything above those GPU you SHOULD upgrade for at least r5 5600x (not G since G uses Pci-e 3.0 and will bottleneck GPU). If you can wait for more price drop of r7 5800X3D then it's better since that will be the most ideal and End game upgrade for AM4 ryzen. I'm also at 3700x and waiting for rtx 4060 16gb performance review next month. Will not upgrade CPU and will only pick the best GPU that it can handle and will upgrade the whole system again years later.
So I got a 3070 paired with a ryzen 7 3700x trying to play mw3 and I’m only getting around like 130 fps drops to 120 in some places on the map and I play at 1080p setting on low
