I understand what youre saying but his production from 92-98 was waaaaay more impactful than his orchestrated sound now. Its cool he's still producing and doing so well, but this isnt Wu like material.

@@yingjowpai13 I completely agree. I never said his new slick production style was better. He's more knowledgeable now and has access to better production technology, but his early beats are raw, minimal and pioneered the gritty sound Wu-Tang became famous for. I absolutely prefer his work up through Wu Tang Forever and around the year 2000 with the release of The W is where he tried to change the sound and go more high tech which coincidentally is when Wu Tang started to fall off. I produce House and Techno myself and can hear/appreciate a variety of tricks he added to his arsenal, although at the expense of the rugged minimalism that most fans loved.

@@1ofthewizards330 I agree Tyler. That minimalistic implementation of sound (too me) is the essence of that golden age art of noise sound which I grew up with (public enemy being the epitome of it). And of course the sample heavy explorations that are/were staples into some of the best hiphop produced (Jdilla, Muggs, early Kanye,Qtip, Erick Sermon, Mad Villian…etc) My point being the Art of Noise (clanks, whistles, droning, movie clips, soul samples, and sounds that you had no idea what the fuck it was is what made that Wu-tang sound. All that to say…..wish he’d dip back into that primal essence haha! …….then again he don’t smoke them wools like they did back then because that shit took them through the Multiverse!
