I must say (again). I love this channel. It is wonderful to listen to artists from different fields speaking on other fields. Granted RZA is a director. Bless the Abbott
I love the way he talks about how this film impacted him and his neighborhood. And how Bruce Lee wanted to change the perspective of his people. I love hearing people talk about movies man. It’s beautiful.
The irony with Bruce Lee, being. In life he craved to be a star but continually suffered from racism throughout his time in the US. A few films later in Hong Kong and after his untimely demise. He became, one of the most recognized and lauded faces and names on the planet. And still very much is ... Way before the internet too!
Blows my mind that the 95 Mortal Kombat film heavily copied from Enter the Dragon. I went decades before finding that out. Well, if you're gonna steal, then steal from the best
I just watched this film for the very first time. It also was my very first Bruce Lee film. Now I gotta be honest, I didn't like it all that much. I've been socialized with the Shaw Brothers period pics and Kill Bill when I was young, so I just have a certain idea in my mind of how a martial arts film should look and feel like & this one didn't do it for me. What was interesting though is that Bruce Lee acted just as arrogant in this as the potrayal of him in OUATIH suggested.
