+Frank Sanna It's not just about the turbo. Upgraded dif, brakes, suspension, sway bar, axles, etc. A drag race is only a very small portion of the entire package. However, like you, I was expecting more from the turbo. I'd still spend the extra on the turbo though.
+2ridered2 Yeah it is a completely redesigned machine, a lot of people just think it's the turbo only. They also are equipped with the best Fox shocks in the industry. You won't find a better ride.
also have a gear reverse, front sway bar, re engineered steering box that's tighter. And the best thing about them is the new turbos don't nose dive on big jumps. It's a new machine.
I watched this video over a year ago and this video was a deciding factor in me purchasing a 2016 rzr 1000 non turbo. Just not worth the extra money for that little bit of speed
They're quick alright. Quick enough to get you into trouble... I've already rolled both the 1000 and the xp turbo in the dunes. Enjoy em while they're still pretty looking.
The turbo would shine in the mountains with large elevation gains, If that's where you do most of your riding, but you're all right, other than having bragging rights, the difference isn't as much as I was expecting
No such thing as a 1000 Turbo. Its only 929CC. A turboed 1000 is the ace in the hole Polaris is holding out on until its needed to top any competitors. I've heard rumors that it will go over 200hp easy.
Yea it goes over easy with abunch of money. I got a boy I ride with that has about 55k in total in his 16 turbo. It has about 230hp but my dads canam x3 with only a stage 3 can keep up with it
The turbo' s power delivery isn't as hard on the bottom end as it is on the mid range to top end. And that's when it blew the doors off the regular xp1k. And I do believe that's the 130 hp turbo, not the 168 hp
Joe Bassamore if I rode the dunes or track raced I would love x3 or rzr turbo. But I don't lol. I live in South East Ohio, tight trails, creek bottoms and off camber hills. A turbo machine just isn't a good fit. When you need low end torque/crawling power, and rarely do we have sections of trail where you get up to speed faster than 20 mph, without being in an open field lol.
Arick Hook I hear ya on that one. It's the same here. Except there's a lot of road driving here too. There's 3 mountains that connect with some pavement driving and everyone makes that loop so when you hit the pavement it's full throttle lol. I've had an x3 topped at 95, they will fly. That was all it had though going downhill. Ran about 93 steady on the flat road. The turbo around here is basically bragging rights. Useless for the most part unless your on the dunes like you said. I've always wanted to hit the dunes.
I have a 17 xp1k h.o and In low I pull harder and faster than a 17 turbo and a 21 turbo for some reason. I wanna think that it’s tuned but I’m not sure
I'll just keep my N/A xp1k I thought the turbo one would totally smoke it. Rather spend the extra thousands on getting an aftermarket turbo for my xp1k and would run way faster than an already turbo'ed one
Yeah I don't blame you. Although Polaris has some rebates that are bringing the fi models closer to the na right now. I would guess they jump the boost on the next model.
+ezelder What?? I said they are bringing the FI model closer to the NA model in price. FI is not NA..wtf are you talking about? The FI stands for Forced Induction. Thus the "Turbo" model closer to the NA "Naturally Aspirated" Model. What kind of stupid jibberish are you trying to correct me with?
This is also a 2016 turbo that has 144hp compared to 168hp of the 2017+ models. The price difference is only about $2k now. For 2k you get a better transmission, better front differential, better center driveline, and way more horsepower as well. Not to say the 1000xp is a bad machine but the turbo is just a better machine overall not even including the horsepower.
@@Barnhart08 True. Still junk though, everything on it wears just as fast. I would recommend the Turbo S. I've had them come in with 5000 miles and not even on their first wheel bearing..bushing etc. The geometry is a lot better.
7 extra in 2019-2020? That's ridiculous, now a rzr turbo it's around 1.5,2k more than 1k and if you spend some dollars in the turbo you can put up to 200-220 machine and if you spend the same money in the 100 you can't get more than 130hp.
Reaper Actual and only an idiot would watch videos of them and make stupid comments..because really deep down he wants one but just doesn't have the funding.
I thought that was quite a big gap. I dont know much about it but when cars race they are counting 10ths of a second. Seemed to me turbo was at least a full second ahead.
Turbos fail plain and simple; they make engines run hotter causing more wear and tear; expensive to repair; and just another fail point to shell out big bucks!
Funny because I now OWN a Turbo! I sold my 900 Trail and got the turbo. Aside from being way faster than the non turbo( especially in sand) the entire package is a nice upgrade over the regular xp1000. I'm loving this new Turbo. It's hard to judge until owning one!!
Sweet, congrats! I bet it does make a huge difference in the sand. I've never had the opportunity to do any dunes or anything yet but it will stay on my bucket list!
